I want to post this to see what people think on fixing writer's blocks.
I think I know one: do anything else but think about your book. Cuz if you think about your book too hard, you'll run out of ideas, or you'll think the ones you have are stupid. ^-^ anyone else have any ideas?

When I get writers block I usually get something to eat and either read, watch a movie, or play a game (almost always mahjong) I usually get ideas after half an hour or so.
Other times I drop my project for a while and work on another one entirely.

The best thing I've learned to do from some English writing classes I've taken is to do the following:
Sit down and write. Don't think about what you're writing - just let the words flow from mind to paper. It doesn't have to be about anything or have any meaning behind it. Sometimes the best cure to a block is to simply break down the wall with words.
After doing that, I usually feel relieved enough to work on my writing. Though my current writer's block problem comes from the development of setting, so writing doesn't really help that sweatdrop

Okay, I admit it took nearly two months to break my last bout, but hey, I started on Aura!

I never forget, I just write crap until it comes back to me. I've got about fifty story ideas, so I'm basically always working! It's jsut that I focus on one until completion nowadays.

Dude, I don't even know. I've been havign writer's block since January, and the only per--ah, THING that will fix it is...not....
Yeah. Rule number one of writer's block: DO NOT EVER FIND A MUSE. No. Your muse is YOURSELF. And if you find one that's your muse without you meaning to, STAB IT.

I usually talk to myself until I suddenly hit something that's interesting. Or take the first two words I see and think of a way to fit them into the story.

3 things:
1. daydream. daydream about anything! how your day could have gone better, what would happen to certain people, where you could go, where you wanna be. Those daydreams could eventually turn into thoughts for your project. :]
2. music. music. music. listen to the lyrics and try to think about what they mean; situations that could come out of the lyrics, who would think them up. think which characters would mostly likely connect to that song, and you'd get ideas.
3. I agree with just writing. it doesnt have to be on anything specifically, just as long as you write to get your mind working and pulling through words. ♥ ♥ ♥

Normally if I'm stuck I reread what I've written. (Also editing it along the way) and making minor changes, since that refreshes the memory of the story I bring back and try to write more.

For me it's not so much of a lack of ideas, but more like dissatisfaction with what I've written. I have plenty of ideas, but I'm almost never satisfied with what I've written.
Usually, listening to music helps. 3nodding

I discovered that willing myself to write cures it. ( I say "cure" because writer's block is a disease!)
I start writing about how I can't write ("She sat and looked at the blank piece of paper... etc") and carry on until my hand starts flowing with the pen again and my imagine can leak into the paper in any way I see fit.
