England of the day isn't that much different to England 2008. The only real difference is that the world knows. it has been through so much with war and aliens that it finds it hard not to know about whats really out there.

A large cup full of liquid was flying across the room. People ducked, dodged, and the person it was aimed for merely watche in shock as the projectile came sailing straight for his face. It hit him between the eyes, snapping his head back and the eyes of everyone in the pub turned to look at the attacker.

A thin redheaded girl, probably in her twenties, stood with a book tucked beneath one arm and a large bag resting at her side. Charcoal smudges were smeared over her nose and cheeks from the sketch she had been working on. When she started through the crowd to continue her attack of her victim, the crowd closed in around her and shoved her outside as the bartender demanded she vacate the premises.

Once on the street, Josey turned and kicked the door.

"He started it!" she shouted.

The man had been hitting on her, hitting on her while she was sketching...She'd told him several times she wasn't interested and then as he walked away he'd called her a name. She had never put up with treatment like that. She wasn't about to start now.

With a growl, the girl turned and started down the street, grumbling all the way.

A number of small lights began to flicker into life, falling from the sky. they slowed down a little and then started flying off in directions. There were hundreds of them travelling in all different directions, lowering down to earth.
The man standing beside the red phone box stared up at the sky, at the lights. "Now what are they?" He asked, squinting a little. "The Darmal don't use fighters. They just blow everything to bits with their battle ships."
The Man next to the red box pulled out a pair of glasses and put them on. he stared up at the dots of light, squinting. "oooh, now that's interesting." he said, genuine interest etched onto his face. one of the lights began to grow bigger, soaring towards the man's general location. "Oh, now here we go." he grinned, pulling the glasses off and putting them in his pocket. he pulled off his hat and walked over to the door. he opened it and threw the hat inside. he turned to the light as it descended, watching it drop down to form several lights, all on the edge of a large disk save for one blue light in the center.
The disk travelled over a person, a man with greying hair and a limp. it hovered iver the terrified man and then dropped down onto him. A flash of light and the man was gone. the disk moved on.
"A terrak-dal ambulance? what could they possibly be doing with them?" he frowned and reached to his side. His hand grasped onto his Sonic flash light as he broke into a jog, trying to catch up with the disk.
The disk turned a corner, and Fox followed after it, he froze as he got around the corner and watched the disk hover over a young woman. Fox eyed the ambulance and thought up a number of possible scenarios. he could push the girl aside, he could take her place and find out what is going on... or he could bring the ship down now. "WWDD?" he muttered to himself. What Would the Doctor Do?

Josey was walking along, kicking a can as she went and mumbling to herself about stupid men and lack of respect for artists. She snatched her bag from her hip and tried to stuff the large sketchbook into it. The snap came undone and the contents of her bag spilled out over the pavement before her. Josey cursed and threw the bag down on the ground before kneeling down to return her things to their proper place.

While she was kneeling, she suddenly looked up. There were lights. Odd lights. ...and one was coming at her...getting bigger. She put the last of her pencils in her bag and returned the bag to her shoulder as she slowly stood. She stared at the light as it came closer.

"What is that?" She tilted her head curiously, shielding her eyes a little.

Fox grinned and raised the flash light. He adjusted the settings with the small dial in the centre and the slidable button. he turned the dial twenty three degrees clockrise, pulled the button into the center position and pressed it. the green light on the side lit up.
Fox held the flashlight tight in both hands watching as the disk above the crouching girl began to slow. The right hand side dipped and a number of lights blew out. His Sonic flash light was working, he wasn't sure exactly what he was doing but point and click generally worked for him.
The other side began to dip. "Oh, now that wasn't smart." he sighed, pulling the button back to the fourth setting and aiming at the other side. "Sorry." he muttered to nobody in particular. he pressed the button and the other side of the disk's lights exploded, sending the disk flying into the floor as the green light turned off and was replaced by the red.

Fox ran over to the girl and crouched next to her. "Are you ok?" he asked, turning his gaze to the 6' wide, 3" tall, flat, circular ship. The ship was disabled, but it still had power. The ship layed there, unmoving. it was no longer a threat, it was an ambulance, the only thing it could do was teleport people, and now it's teleportation eye was facing the floor, all it was going to be moving was the ground.
"Can you move?" Fox asked, turning back to the girl and changing the settings on his sonic device.
PostPosted: Sun Jun 29, 2008 6:24 pm

Josey covered her head and ducked down as a beam of light knocked the ship off kilter and then nearly fell on her. The ship/disc was sent sailing a few yards away and a man ran up beside her.

She was trembling a little from the close call and turned wide eyes on him before looking back at the disc.

"What was that?! Did you make it fall?! What the--gah!" She was in shock. That-spaceship? Was it a space ship? Nearly fell on her!

"Of course I can move!" She shouted back, though she remained stationary. "What is that thing?"

Fox stood up and walked across, to the disk and found a random square on the top of the disk. he crouched down and aimed the top of the flash light down at the edge, pressing the button as he moved it across. The head of the light was only about three centimeters in diameter but a small cover circled in to shrink the amount of light that was escaping to a centimeter in diameter. The light was focussed, and a moment later there was a click.
The man with the red box smiled. "Geniale! That's Brilliant in italian." He added for clarification puropses. "This, is a Terrak-Dal Ambulance. Their just teleporters, mobile teleporters designed to pick up their injured and transport them to a designated facility. But their only taken to places that their called to. Usually." Fox flipped the square to reveal a computer screen pannel and a keyboard. "And that." he said, pointing up at the sky with his flash light before turning it off and putting it into his belt holster. "Is the Darmal battle fleet, one of them. I think it's the seventh, but I can't see he insignia from here." He began tapping at the keys. "oooh, theres a new directive on these. They've been called to earth to transport all sick Humans from the 27th century to the nearest medical center." Fox frowned, "I guess that the humans from the 21st century are different enough but close enough for the ships to register them as the same species but not quite right... but why would the Darmal fleet be teleporting the people to the nearest med center... which is probably one of their ships." Fox grabbed onto the edge of the ship and stood up to pull the ship up and over onto it's back. The blue light shot up into the air, waiting to find something to pick up.
"But we'll find out pretty soon, because I am so freaking lucky." he grinned. He pulled his flash light and changed the settings. he turned the dial 98 degrees and flipped the button to the 5th setting, he never was sure why he chose each area, but he was near enough allways right. "Stand back. I think it only has one pick up, but... you never know." He pressed the button and after a moment the grey haired limper fell out of the light, crying in fear. "Well... I guess that proves one thing." he grinned. "I'm one lucky guy... and so is he."

Josey stood, looking around frantically, she glared after the man while he went off and investigated the ship. So they were sent here...? She raked a hand through her wild red hair and scrambled over to stand beside him.

"So its here for sick people? What the heck!? Where would they take us? And why does it think I'm sick?!" He didn't answer, just rambled on about something and his luck and then asked her to stand back while he aimed a flashlight at a man being beamed up nearby.

"How are you doing that with a torch?!"

Fox stepped forward and placed a hand on the mans shoulder. he was cold with shock and fear. "Aparently not as lucky as I thought." He muttered. He changed the settings on his flashlight again and aimed it at his head. He pressed the on button and the green and blue lights both shone into the man's fore head. he moved the the light down and then across his eyes. "He's suffering from shock and... I think he's... no... no he's not brain dead, just... brain... out cold? I guess he can't help... and I'm not going through that teleporter... I guess I'm going to have to go in the tardis."

Fox looked up at the girl and looked at the flash light, shutting it down again and re-holstering it. "It's a sonic torch." Fox said, "Built it myself has eighteen hundred settings... I've worked out what about seven of them do." he smiled and reached into his pocket to pull out his glasses. he put them on and moved over to the disk. he pulled it over again and looked at the pannels. "There are hundreds of them all over Earth, just picking up random people... I guess there is no time like the present to stop them." He started typing into the keys and then pulled out his sonic flash light. "I have set up a discontinuation code on their network system but the signal's not very strong... I think I broke it." he muttered, spinning the dial with a flick to let it turn to a random degree. he pushed the button to the second spot and pressed. The blue light shone onto the disk and after a moment the signal raised "Yes, Yes, Yes!" he yelled.
"Hey, do you have a radio or anything? something with the news." He turned to the girl. Somehow it felt like he was back with Maria... and yet it was completely different at the same time. "I need to know if this is working or not."

Without thinking, she began digging in her bag and brought out a small radio and handed it to him. All the while, staring at the torch in his hand.

"...A sonic torch..." She mumbled. "Are you like a crazy person?" She put her hands on her hips, "Who are you?"Her mind was spinning at the thought of twenty minutes ago, she had been in a pub being hit on and since then, she had nearly been abducted by aliens, saved by a crazy man and now she was watching as he used a torch to save another man's life and stop an alien ship from continuing its mission.

...Maybe somebody spiked her drink.

"Thank you." he said, taking the radio, placing the flash light down and working on the radio. He turned it on an tuned it into bbc radio five Live, and waited as a news broadcast described the nights goings on, ending with 'and the disks seem to be falling from the sky'.
"Brilliant." he grinned, switching it off and handing it back. he stopped as she started yelling at him.
"Yes, A sonic torch, it's like a sonic screwdriver, but with a handy atatchment that lets me see in the dark. And a sonic screwdriver is like a screwdriver only... sonic." He said, picking up the flash light and re-holstering it.
"I'm nobody, I'm just a guy." he said, smiling and placing an arm on her shoulder. "Call me Fox... and then go home, lock the doors and hope they don't have blasters." He grinned. "Allways loved the star wars films, just like the Cearthians, they love them so much that they have full scale re-enactments of the space battles with replica ships and a replica death star or two every ten years."

He smiled one last time at the girl. "And as for crazy... Yeah, I am a little crazy, but then so are most of the situations I've been in. You learn to go with the flow after the first two hundred crazy moments."

He adjusted his suit jacket and smiled. "Well as your youth type people would say, Tem-Tau." he wave-saluted and, accidentally, noticed his watch. "Oh right... this is 2010... thats not for another two years... Crap I bet I just accidentally invented it... anyway..." he turned and waved a hand over his shoulder ready to run to the tardis and jump up to the battle fleet.

Josey watched as he listened to her radio and then returned it to her bag as he handed it back to her. A sonic torch...a sonic screwdriver...She scoffed and looked up as he answered her question regarding who he was.

"Fox, huh? Thats unique." She rolled her eyes, "Well, Fox, you can forget about sending me home. I'm coming with you. There's no way I'm missing out on what these flying DVD's do next!" She rolled her eyes again as he rambled on about something she didn't understand.

"Well? So what's next?" She stuck out a hand, "I'm Josey, by the way."

"It's unique, I'm unique, the uniqueness that surrounds me is nearly unrivled." Fox said, smiling away. "Actually, they're more like flying blue ray disks." he said, "and no. You're not coming. I had someone tag allong before... their gone now. I'm not going to let that happen to anyone else..."
A flash of Maria's green skinned domed fore head and quiet but sweet features rolled across Fox's mind.
"As for what happens next, Josey, lovely name by the way, You go home..." He did not move, he waited for a response, be it a punch, which would probably have told him she would be ok to take, or her obeying him... which probably would have given him the same conclusion... He missed travelling with people.

He was definitely a strange one. Josey noted as she watched his face. He spoke quickly, almost too quickly. She had to strain to catch everything he said. He seemed like a happy-go-lucky sort of fellow but there was a sense of danger behind his eyes that struck a chord of curiosity in the girl that often got her into trouble.

Her friends said it'd get her killed one day while others said her ability to read a person was just plain creepy. Josey shrugged at the thought, not really listening to him anymore. He was trying to make her go home again and that just wasn't going to happen. She yawned and adjusted the thick strap of her bag to a more comfortable position on her shoulder.

She stood there staring at him, her face completely calm-seemingly bored. She held her strap near the bag with one hand and rested her right hand on her hip and stood there waiting for him to realize she wasn't going anywhere. He might as well give in because she was going whether he liked it or not.

"So how long till you figure out that load of bull isn't gonna fly and I'm coming along anyway?" She asked.

"Well after that..." Fox said, raising his eye brows. "I'm thinking it'll take some radical step that means you would be safer going with me. I don't like to be wrong... then again being right isn't my fortae either." he laughed and placed a hand on her shoulder. "You know what, Josie? You intreague me. People usually see the sonic torch, hear the random chatter that doesn't make sense to them, mostly because their stupid, and then listen apptly to every word..." Fox looked up at the sky. a number of green lights were ignighting. "... and that would be the guns..." he released her shoulder, held out a hand and smiled "Come with me... if you want to live." he smiled, looking up at the sky, both judging how long they had left and remembering the old Terminator films. "Allways wanted to use that line."
