HE let out a strangled purr and since that didnt work he started chattering at his sister who was sitting on her rock. "I cant believe im going out...ill catch that mouse today... I swear i will i will be the best warrior... My dad and mom are both strong so ill be the strongest..." He nmodded and started to pace while waiting...this waiting thing would kill him

A brown figure stalked up behind Toadpaw and tapped him on the shoulder lightly with his tail tip. "Time to go," he spoke swiftly and quickly, his deep voice vibrating his throat. His stoical face showed no expression as he stalked forward to the camp entrance, very eager, his first apprentice in tow.

ToadPaw bounded after his mentor. "Soooooo" he tried to sound casual. It failed "What are we doing today? Huh? Is it somethign fun and something i will want to do again....and again....and...well you get the idea" he was nearly jumping for joy. His pelt prickled as he got to go and do somethings apprentices do.

He smiled slyly. He was happy to have an apprentice who was eager to get going, eager to learn. "In time, Toadpaw. In time." He smiled again and stalked out of the camp, Toadpaw following him. He had already decided what they'd do today, and he hoped that Toadpaw would enjoy it. If not, oh well. It wasn't his job to please his apprentice.

ToadPaw smiled and bounced. It was all he could do he was so excited. He was on his way to becoming a warrior. He padded after his mentor. "So what ARE we doing?" He was going to die of curiosity. "Please, please, please tell me..."He knew he was whining but hey if it would work he would try anything

Dirtpelt smiled at his apprentice's excitement. It was exhilirating, really. His first apprentice going out to... "We're going to hunt," He stated, wondering how much the apprentice had done already.

Dirtpelt smiled a bit, then flicked his tail over to a single giant tree, roots sticking out of the ground, mud covering every corner of the tree. "Over there." He already saw a single vole scuttling about.

ToadPaw had seen it to he smiled and lunged for ward claws digging into the ground as he ran heavy pad falls frightened the thing and it dove back into ts whole. Toadpaw frowned "Ill get it." He stuck is paw into the hole he fished around for a moment then yowled. Pulling his paw out there was a bit of blood and a bit of torn sink. "It bite me..." Her stared at the hole and shook his head in clear display of shock. "I cant believe it bit me..." He set his paw down ignoring the sting..i guess thats not the right way. He sighed "ok i guess you will have to show me... i was going to try and impress you..."

Dirtpelt chuckled as he watched the vole scuttle into a hole after Toadpaw's clumsy attempt at catching it. He then saw the vole bite Toadpaw's paw, leaving a bit of blood and a small tuft of fur missing. Dirtpelt immediately crouched down. "You did well, but... you're too eager. You must learn the way of the warrior before you try and act like one." He grinned.
He wiggled his backside, as well as his tail. "You must crouch down, keeping as low to the ground as possible without hitting it. Once you've mastered the hunting crouch, you must learn to stalk the prey in a way that doesn't alert them of your presence." Carefully Dirtpelt placed one paw in front of the other, stalking forward silently as if stalking prey. "Got it? Now let me see your hunter's crouch." Dirtpelt stood up and chuckled a bit, imagining Toadpaw falling over while trying to keep him balance.
