http://www.curse.com/articles/details/11266/Pretty interesting read, although it doesn't really matter now that Diablo 3 has been announced and WoW is dead as soon as it comes out. Have I mentioned how awesome the Diablo series is? Because it's ******** good. Anyways. There is actually a lot of fear and anger from the warrior community about the Death Knight release. They're afraid that because the Death Knights will be hybrids that can heal the group and themselves by just killing enemies and the fact that they bring a lot of utility to the raid, that the DKs will replace the warrior class. We'll have to see, I guess, but I'm not really scared about it. 3nodding

The DK was in a way meant to replace warriors, because no one plays warriors and people have trouble getting tanks and stuff. So Blizzard stepped in and said " Lets put in a new new tank class because not enough people are using the current one, and with the rush of lots of people to play the new one, their will be no problem with tanks." But then when you think about it, healers are gonna be extra needed during the beginning of WotLK because everyone is gonna be a DK and going to need healers.

@Zombeh: I'm not sure. When BC came out and paladins/shamans were available to the other factions, we did see an initial surge of these two "new" classes, but they all died off and leveled out. It's still rare to see these two classes that are geared even through Karazhan.
I assume the same will happen to DKs. We'll see a shitload of them at first, but then they will level out. We may still have the tank issue, which I see no shortage of between feral druids, prot pallies and prot warriors (the last we still have lots of). Maybe on DK will be a tank in WotLK in the raid, maybe another for DPS. They do look like they are going to bring a lot of utility to a raid.

But Blizzard is just trying to find a way to lure people into becoming tanks by making a "hero class" which is almost the same as any other class, except that it's molded after characters in the Warcraft games. In a way it's just a trick to make people play tanks. And I will likely make mine DPS and so will others.

Also, I don't know about on your servers, but on mine there are so many ******** paladins its nuts. You can't shake a stick without hitting at least two. I haven't seen as many Alliance paladins as Horde, but you guys must be loving the shamans.

I think many many people still play as warriors because everytime I make a party, there are always warriors in it...

It's not a "will the warrior class die" question. It's a fear among the warrior population that their class will be mostly replaced becase DKs have better utility.
Also, you're completely wrong, Zombeh Jesus. DK was not meant to replace warriors or buff the population of tank classes. While DKs now are considered overpowered by both the Alpha testers and those that played at WWI, they are still considered inferior to prot warriors at a tanking standpoint. However, the problem is that people are afraid that DKs will take their place because of their better utility in things like dungeons. In 5-mans, will a DK be more wanted than a warrior tank? What does this mean for the game? Warrior boards are pissed off, mostly. That's all I was saying.

But I guarantee you that DK is not Blizzard trying to make more tanks, because it's not really a tanking kinda class. It can tank, but so can 3 other classes.
