A large screen towered over the stadium. A spinner with twelve different battle field locations displayed on the screen, waiting to be choosen. One of the trainers jumps to the control room and presses a big green button to start up the spinner. The screenshots of each battlefield light up as they are passed by the spinner. Finally, the light stops on...
the CITY STREETS FIELD!!!
Broken tar and faded yellow lines make up the “street” that runs down the exact center of the battle field. On either side of the road, sidewalks with pieces of concrete here and there are broken off while “building walls”, set with windows of sugar glass and rotating doors are placed on one side of the street. On the other is a broken down building with barred window and a boarded up door. Faint traces of grim and much cover the walls of both “buildings” while trash cans and trash bags decorate the street; some are torn open with their contents spilled out while others are not. A sewer grate nearby continually pours a stream of fog into the air while, on the corner near a crossroad, a phone booth is seen. The phone, hanging off the hook, makes a continuous busy signal. Dying and dead bushes line the building sides while occasional breezes blow the dead leaves onto the sidewalks and road.

As Sunnie walked into the Stadium, the smell of rotting garbage hit her like a battering ram to the senses. "Uhhghh! Ohhh man, this place reeks! At least it's somewhere new..."
She looked towards her pokeballs, thinking of whom to send out. Well, this Kris person seems like a new trainer... they probably only have a little skitty or pichu or something of the sort... she thought to herself. I bet Vitesse will have fun with this one! She took out the second Pokeball from her belt and hurled it out onto the field.
"Ughhh! This place is HORRID!" Vitesse screamed in disgust at the sight (and smell) of the stadium. "What's a Pokemon like me doing here?! Ugh... better get this over with quickly..." he said to himself as he glanced around, looking for any sign of his opponent.

Kris stepped into the stadium apprehensively, grabbing her lone Pokeball from her belt. She was greeted with the smell of decomposing garbage and she she recoiled, grabbing at her nose to ward off the smell. She clutched the pokeball tighter as if trying to shield Paix from the stench as well.
"Well this is different, to say the least."
She fumbled with the pokeball a bit before deciding to let Paix out.
He burst forth with a cry, stretching out his wings to their full length as he flapped to the ground. He looked back at Kris with an undignified squawk as he took in the stench. 'It really, really smells! My god, why am I here...?' He noticed what looked like two figures in the distance as he said that. He started forward, looking back at his trainer.
Kris nodded at the hint and followed him quickly, apprehension clear on her face.

Kris quickly recognized the figures in the distance as her opponents and she she stopped in her tracks. 'Okay, this is it!' She took a deep breath and called Paix forth.
He nodded and steeled himself for her command, staring straight at the two ahead of them in determination.
"Paix, use gust!"

Sunnie's mouth gaped open. "A-a-a-a A HO-OH? A freakin' HO-OH?! How did yo-" she stopped herself short - she didn't want to upset the new trainer, especially if she had some sort of ties with Team Rocket. How else could she possibly get a pokemon like that? "I mean uhh, wow, that's one mighty fine Pokemon you sure got there..." she said, nervously, beginning to blush and sweat uncontrollably. Oh no, I've upset her! Now she'll send out whatever connections she has on me ahhh... she thought to herself.
"Ugghhh!!" Vitesse cried out as he tried to stand his ground against Paix's harsh gusts of wind. He buried his hooves in the ground in an attempt to keep his footing, but it was in vain - he lost it and flew back a few feet, finally crashing into a pile of garbage bags.
"Oh ewww! Vito, you look all gross! But uhh, no matter... Tail Whip!"
Vitesse got up, looked at himself, and screamed. "I'M COVERED IN GARBAGE?! UUUUGHHHH! THIS IS DISGUSTING!! I CAN'T BELIEVE IT... Someone as beautiful as I... well this certainly won't last, you-" he looked up at Paix, whom he never got a good look at until now. He was struck with awe at the sight of him, his huge wings spread out, his rainbow feathers catching what little light was in the stadium and shining with the radiance and beauty of the morning sun. He is gorgeous... almost as beautiful as I... butbut I can't admit it... "...you, you ugly stupid bird you! YEAH!" he finally managed to utter with a false tone in his voice. He ran towards Paix, letting the rotten food and soiled napkins and other garbage fly off of his body behind him. He leaped into the air after the Ho-oh, and when he was just a few feet away, he turned his body around to smack his fiery tail against him to lower his defences.

Kris stared at the girl with a confused look on her face. "....What?" The other trainer was giving her a nervous look. Kris shrugged and turned back to the battle to see Vitesse launching himself towards Paix.
"Paix, look out!!"
Paix heeded her warning too late and flew back a foot as Vitesse turned around and smacked him in the face with his tail. Paix snorted at the singed feathers on his face and let out a squack.
"Okay, Paix, time to retaliate! Use Extrasensory!"
Paix gave a nod and flew closer to his opponent. 'My, what beautiful flames you have.' He remarked as he craned his neck forward and stared into the multi-colored Ponyta's eyes. He focused all his psychic energy into one point and prepared to release it...!

Oh no! Now I think I've really done it, I wasn't even dignified with a response ahh... thought Sunnie, shaking from fright.
A huge wave of psychic energy flew at Vitesse so fast that he didn't even have the time to think about what he was going to do. Again, he was thrown back, but this time managed to hit the ground and stop just short of the garbage pile. "Unnh... this is not my day..." he said to himself. But at least I got a compliment... ohoho...
"Eek, Vito! Well, if he's gonna use psychic powers, you can too! Natural Gift!!"
Vitesse picked himself up and closed his eyes, concentrating on some unknown thing. The citrus berry, tied around his neck, emanated a purple aura as it floated off of his body. He snapped open his eyes - glowing brightly with a newfound power - and sent out a huge wave of energy (and various debris lying in it's path) at the Ho-oh.

Kris noticed Sunnie shaking and she shot the other trainer a confused look again. "Umm, why are you shaking...?"She blinked at the other girl for a moment before her attention was called back to the battle- a huge wave of energy was flying straight towards Paix!
"Paix!! Look OUT!" She screamed.
Paix tried to fly out, gaping at the energy flowing off of the Ponyta. He wasn't fast enough to avoid the attack and it slammed into him with great force, throwing him to the ground. He got up slowly, letting out a screeching roar.
"Okay, Paix! It's time for payback, are you ready? SKY ATTACK, GO!"
Paix nodded and launched himself into the air with a cry. He stayed there for a moment, surveying Vitesse below him, searching him for a weak spot before speeding towards the ground.

Oh no! What do I say what do I saaay... "U-u-umm it's cold in here! Yeah that's it! It's just so cold please don't hurt meee..." she said in a whimper, continuing to shake and sweat like a panicked little Pichu.
Vitesse looked up at where the Ho-oh flew into the sky. "Oh fine, fly up there, like you're some sort of big-shot... well you can't stay up there fore-" Before he could finish, Paix flew down from the sky and knocked right into his side, causing him to fly in the air and crash through the sugar-glass windows on the building wall.
"Eeeek! Vito!! You alright?!"
"Unnhh..." moaned Vitesse as he lifted himself off of the ground. "Man, if that was real glass..." He looked out the window at Paix. "What's the big idea, you uhh... big ugly... bird-brain?! You think you can defeat someone as gorgeous as this?! You may have shimmering rainbow feathers, but I have BLUE flames! How often do you see those, huh?!"
"Heh, you're fine..." Sunnie said with a giggle at seeing her Pokemon so angry at the Ho-oh. "Alright, let's try a different approach! Bounce!!"
Vitesse leaped through the broken window and immediately bounded up into the air, almost as high as Paix flew in the previous turn, and then crashed into the ground, cracking the concrete street and sending a massive shockwave out from under him. The wave flew through the ground and the air, picking up pieces of debris and garbage along with it on it's path towards Paix.

"Cold? But I'm not cold....And what was that last part?" Kris scratched her head, careful not to jar the headband on her head. She didn't have time to worry about Sunnie, however, as she saw a powerful shockwave heading towards her and Paix!
"PAIX, MOVE!!" She screamed.
Paix was too distracted by Vitesse's graceful move to dodge in time and the shockwave hit him head-on, sending him flying into the wall and onto the ground. 'No problem, that didn't hurt much! I can just get up....huh?' Paix let out a yelp(or as close as he could get to one) as he realized he couldn't move. His spirits feel immediately.
He couldn't move and he was backed against a wall.
"Oh, Paix, you're paralyzed!" Kris realized with a gasp. "Hang in there Paix, hang in there...!" She threw her left arm into the air, pointing her index finger straight up. "You can do this! Reach the heavens, Paix! Don't forget our dream!"
Paix didn't understand her words, but he understood the pose that always gave the two of them courage. He attempted a nod and a smile and failed, but he knew that Kris would understand. He stared straight at Vitesse, his gaze not wavering as he steeled himself for the blow that would undoubtedly come.

"Yaaaay!!" Sunnie shouted with joy at the sight of the paralyzed Ho-oh - she didn't even pay attention to Kris anymore. "Alright! Well, we've only got one turn for this, so uhh... Natural Gift!!"
Again, Vitesse closed his eyes and concentrated, drawing energy from his Sitrus Berry. He opened them, now colored a piercing lavender hue, and stared into Paix's eyes. "Can't move, huh? Well then, this should be able to hit you..." Again he hurled another wave of energy at the Ho-oh, throwing whatever was in it's path in the frozen Pokemon's direction.

Kris felt slightly insulted. Sunnie had ignored her just like that! "Well I guess it's okay, we're battling. But still, it's not my fault is it? It's not like I've done anything to hurt her feelings or anything right? No, it's not my fault. She must just be concentrating on the battle. That's probably it, but I still feel insulted. I can't help it, I'm only human. Paix isn't human though, he's a Ho-oh. He's my Ho-oh, and my very special partner. Oh hey, weren't we in a battle? I should probably be paying attention. Paix might get hurt. That would be my fault then, wouldn't it? I think it would-" She was thrown out of her ramblings as she saw another wave of energy headed towards Paix.
"Get ready, Paix!" She called before she could fall back into that odd trance.
Paix nodded. He had been distracted by his partner's mumblings, but now his focus was on the battle. He let out a cry as the wave slammed into him, pushing him against the wall, which cracked against his weight. The wave dissipated and he found himself able to move. He launched himself in flight again, testing out his wings. He had full mobility back now, and he was going to take full advantage of that.
"Paix, use Sky Attack again!"
Paix nodded and flew circles around Vitesse. 'It's payback time, blue boy!' he shouted. He circled a bit more until he was satisfied with his mobility before he dove down at full speed, determined to hit his opponent.

Sunnie looked up at Kris and saw her insulted look. "Ohnono! I mean, I'm not, uhh, OHGOD I'VE UPSET HER AGAIN!" she shouted in agony and embarrassment as she bent down and hit behind her platform, peeking out above it just enough to see the battle.
"Blue boy?! I resent that statemen-UNFHH!!" Again cut short by a harsh attack, Vitesse was thrown into the lone telephone booth, knocking it over with a loud crash and sending tiny shards of glass all over the road. Vitesse climbed out of it's empty frame, cut all over with tiny marks from the glass. "Unnh... at least that annoying busy signal ended..." he said, trying to find the bright side of the situation.
"Eeek, that looked like it hurt!" Sunnie said to herself as her ponyta was thrown into the booth. At least that annoying busy signal stopped... She thought for a second about the situation - that Ho-oh was hitting Vitesse with some majorly strong attacks, and he was growing weaker with every one. "It looks like we're going to have to go for paralysis again... Vito, Bounce!!" she shouted, still cowardly squatting down.
"Unnh... you're one mean bird, you... you.. ahhh whatever..." Vitesse tried to say. He took a moment to gather his strength, and then made a running jump off of the frame of the booth. He flew straight up into the air and crashed down, sending shards of glass flying into the air along with another huge shockwave flying straight for Paix.
