Wendy gave a deep sigh of relief as she entered the quiet sanctuary of the library. She set her bag down on one of the tables in order to reserve herself a spot, then began wandering the shelves, looking for Defense Against the Dark Arts texts - Wendy getting stuck on her favorite subject was a rare occurrence, but it happens to the best of us. She slowly and methodically scanned the titles, looking for one that might help her.

Remus walked through the great oak doors of the library and breathed out a sigh of gratitude. He loved his mates, he really did, but it was nice to go somewhere no yelling or wrestling was allowed. He sat down in a secluded corner of the massive room and took out his DADA assignment that needed a few final touches. Once that was done, he leaned back in his chair, yawned, and stretched sleepily.

Having gathered four books that she thought looked like they might be useful, Wendy made her way back to her seat.
She was about halfway there when she froze.
Sitting at the table next to the one where her bag sat was none other than Remus Lupin.
She hadn't spoken to him much after the train ride except in passing - a friendly hello here and there as they passed in the corridors - and she'd never seen him without his Marauder mates. Giving it a split-second's thought, she decided to play oblivious - she would just sit down and study and pretend he wasn't there. It was the library, after all; not a place for social hour but a place, indeed, to study.
Once she got there, however, she didn't seem to be in control of her vocal cords anymore. "Hiya Remus!" she said before she'd even realized her lips were moving.

Remus, still stretching his arms widely, looked up at the sound of his name. His eyebrows raised up as he finally let his arms go down. "Wendy, hello!" he said kindly with a smile. "How are you?"

Wendy held her chin with one hand, pretending to think about her answer. "Hm... Stressed, exhausted, confused, and a little harrassed," she said. Then she put a smile back on her face. "And you?"

Wendy laughed quietly. "You too? Why? You did your O.W.L.s last year!" she said, moving her bag and her books over to his table and taking a seat next to him.

"That's true, but now I've started prepping for my N.E.W.T.s next year," he said with a crooked smile. "And besides that, I'm constantly stressed from class--because of the N.E.W.T. prepping, I'm exhausted from a low immunity threshold and finishing homework late at night, I get confused far too easily for my liking, I just never let it show, and I'm friends with James Potter and Sirius Black. Enough said when it comes to harrassment." He then felt himself turn red, wondering if he had talked too much.

Wendy nodded. "Touché." Her brow then furrowed in confusion. "How come they never ask you to do their homework?" she asked, thinking of Pettigrew in particular. She had to stop herself from groaning aloud at the thought of that essay of his she still had to finish.

"Oh, they do," Remus said with a ready nod. He knew that Wendy had been manipulated into doing at least Pete's homework on more than one occassion. He put a hand on her arm and made steady eye-contact. "I just don't do it," he said pointedly. "How else will they learn?"

Wendy's heartbeat quickened at his touch and she noticed, quite randomly, that Remus had beautiful eyes. She averted her gaze shyly. "Haha, I suppose you're right. I guess I'm just too nice to just say no. It's my fatal flaw," she said with a half-grin.

Remus smiled kindly at her. "Well if it bugs you, let me know and I'll use my rugged manliness to beat them up, m'kay?" he asked in a creepily chipper tone, taking his hand off of her arm and leaning back in his seat.

Wendy chuckled. "M'kay, Mr. Manly. I'll be sure and keep that in mind." She smirked, remembering the train ride, as she said, "Good to know I've got people like you watching my back."
