So, I'm planning on buying a new guitar next month. I was hoping to get an Ibanez or a Kramer and I'm willing to spend up to about $1200.
Any suggestions on what to buy?

Tell us about your favorite guitarists, what kinda tone you'r goin for, and if you intend to install different pick ups. Then I'd be able to maybe point ya in the right direction.

Tube? If it is, then you could save up a bit more and get a Carvin which is what I would do.

keenoby depends do you plan on playing jazz or rock? He's playing metal. I'm just hoping he's playing it through a tube Marshall and not a MG or something.

I would say look into Music Man, ESP or Carvin. The plus side with carvin is you can get your guitar custom built to suit your needs.
A 1200 musicman would probably be a stock model JP or if you saved up a bit more you could get a loaded model (matching headstock, JP bullet inlays and Piezo Pickup bridge). I would be happy to talk to you about mine smile I couldn't be happier with a guitar.
