Kaye had jacked out, and was now back on her ship, The Forsaken. Looking round her crew, she smiled and headed towards the bridge.

"Hey," she said, as she walked up to Theo. Theo was the helmsman, and guided the hovercraft around the sewers, finding the best and safest spots to broadcast.

Theo looked up. He had been working on, well, even he wasn't so sure what it was. It looked like a penknife, although it had very blunt blades. He smiled, and noticed that Kaye wasn't wearing her usual outfit. Instead of her usual dark colours, she had chosen a rather vibrant top, and he tilted his head. "New outfit?" he asked.

"This? Just something I found at the back. Thought it matched my mood," she replied rather casually.

Suddenly, an alarm sounded. Turning quickly, Kaye cursed. "Hope it ain't what I think it is," she said.

Theo jumped in his chair, and pulled up the display. Two sentinels were heading in this direction. "****. Pull this thing round asap. I want to get as far away from those things as we can. I don't want to have to use the EMP," Kaye shouted at Theo.

Theo nodded, and Kaye pressed a button. "Yuro, Jak, get those guns manned. NOW!" she shouted over the intercom.

The hovercraft lurched as it turned around. Kaye ran down to Calum. "Anything from the Oracle before these things turned up?" she asked.
Calum nodded. "Right," she said as she pressed the intercom button again, "Theo, I need a safe spot to broadcast as soon as humanely possible."
A grunt signified he understood. Calum kept his headset on, as a message seemed to come through. "Kaye, you might want to listen to this," he said, passing the headset over.

Kaye pressed it over her ear. Listening intently, she heard a recorded message, from Morpheus. Cursing again, she knew what she had to do. Pulling the headset off and giving it back to Calum, Kaye headed back to the bridge. "Theo, stop the ship," she said plainly.

"WHAT? You have to be kidding me, those things will rip us apart," Theo said back, sharply.

"No they won't. Just had a message from Morpheus, Theo. He said to park the ship nearby. Turn all power to minimum, and they'll pass. Remember the truce? They can't touch us," she replied.

Theo shook his head, and turned the ship into the next sewer entrance. Setting it down carefully, the ship jolted as it landed. Turning a few switches, all power seemed to go from the ship. Now all they had to do was wait.

Waiting for the sentinels to approach seemed to take ages. All Kaye could hear was the sound of Theo's and her breathing.

Suddenly, a single shape could be seen floating past, followed closely by another. Taking a single deep breath, Kaye leaned forward, looking out of the window on the bridge. She hadn't seen them this close since just after the truce began, at Zion. She shook her head slightly, then took another look as the sentinels drifted past. They seemed to be almost in a daze, not paying attention to their surroundings. Kaye hadn't seen them like this before.

Lowering her voice, she turned to Theo. "They don't act naturally, as the others do.. They seem to be almost switched off, like the power to this ship," she said.

Theo nodded. Even to a Zion born like him, these sentinels seemed to have something wrong with them. He couldn't understand it, and spoke quietly. "Kaye, you need to see the Oracle. Soon. To find out if there is something we don't know about that needs to get to HQ."

"Yes, I know. But we need to wait until they pass before we broadcast," she replied.

Theo nodded once. From where he was sitting, he could barely see the second sentinel as it left the sewer area where they were located. Breathing a sigh of relief, he turned one switch, to get some more power to the ship. "I'm moving to a safer spot before we broadcast. They might come back this way," he said, switching the power back on full.

Kaye patted his shoulder as way of acknowledgement, and headed back down to Calum. He had gotten the EMP ready, just in case. She smiled as he placed the protective cover back over the button. Moving over to the wall, she pressed a button for the intercom. "Yuro, Jak, stand down. I'll need you both ready for broadcast shortly. Meet me down here,"she said.

The ship lurched suddenly as it landed. "Theo! Next time warn me you are going to land," she shouted over the intercom, after picking herself off the floor.

Yuro and Jak arrived shortly after. Yuro was dressed in his usual black shorts and yellow vest, whereas Jak was the opposite, yellow shorts and black vest. They were twins, but Kaye could tell them apart, only because Jak had a scar on his right upper arm. "Right you two, I want you to accompany me this time. Not having the same issue as last time," she spoke plainly.

Yuro nodded. "Yup," came the reply from Jak.

"Cal, set her up," Kaye said, getting herself ready.

Settling down in her chair, she turned her head to see Calum setting Yuro's chair up, and Jak just settling himself into his. Smiling, she turned her head back to face the ceiling, just as Calum sent their signal into the Matrix.
