Right...so I seem to use horse breeding lingo for larger creature so pardon that.
The point of this thread is to bring up a new idea about breeding. Now, as far as I know you breed your own dragons to have more and more correct? Well, maybe we could have Stud services and Dam services for breeding. That way users can breed their female with another users stud for eggs and maybe some go to one parent and some go to the other...I dunno how that would be worked out but I think it could add to the dragon experience and help with those very limited breeds. The only thing I shy away from is having to pay users in any way because when any type of money get's involved things can get messy.
If I'm really off on this whole thing and we already have that system then feel free to delete this <<
I'm still feeling things out right now so It's possible I've missed bits of information.

Sorry, but you an only breed your female dragons witho your own males. There aren't any ways to breed with other users.

 This was suggested in the DragCave Forums. The main bad reason for it was that people could just breed with other people to get rare breeds that those people had to well, not work for to get, but you get what I mean. It's located here. And Dranzer, i'm stealing the post your eggs idea twisted , although I think i've seen others use it before.

I wonder how many times ideas are going to cross like that. blaugh I bet nearly EVERYTHING has already been said on the original forum. Thank you for telling me. Brilliant work BTW. The dragons you're working on right now look wonderful.

Hmmm... I'd like if you breed dragons and you get a mystery species from it. O_o Or at least either the mother or father.
I think you can only get the mother from breeding. -.-
I want a sick and zombie dragon. o_o

Maybe if people lent their male dragons for breeding, and anyone who wanted may choose from the list of people who lent males, getting the egg the person who looked at the list for a mate for the female. The egg would be either the father's or the mother's species, and there would be a random factor, being most times the female's species (ex: Mred + Fpink --->Egg 35&#xre;d / 65% pink..|||...MGold + Fpink ---> Egg 5&#xgo;ld / 95&#xpi;nk ) The father's owner would be given a link to hatchling so that he might help in growing it up, and the link would be saved for a while and about a week after it grew. the link would disapear if the egg died. Also restrictions on the amount of breeders and number of breedings per breeder, so that nobody would be giving one of each species and having every single hatchlings inn the site. In the end every hatchling would have the father's and mother's name saved, so that people could make family trees and post it in the foruns for fun.
It would be a great idea, and the randomness in the egg species like the example above would make it harder to get rare dragon species more easily this way, because the random factor would tend to be the females species, even ore with rares.
Ps: I know golds don't breed, I just needed a rare as an example.

Ello ello Draconis (may I call you that?). The mystery species would be really fun but I can't imagine how many differnt new types we would need for that 0_0 I think our artists would die. I was wondering the same thing about zombie dragons. I saw someone's zombie earlier and it was so cool! As for who get's the egg in breeding, I think that would go to the owner of the female. However, if there was a trade system or something then the egg could go to whoever wanted it. BUT I do see many errors in this whole idea and it is pretty fun to have to hunt out rare dragon. whee I'm still learning what all the descriptions are for each type.

I have been trying several times to get another gold by breeding my female. So far all have been of the father's color. I wish it were easier....but then if the chances were even then where would the fun be?
And I don't blame you, I keep track of my bred dragons as well. Most of them are the little ones of my gold but I have a few others.
