Lady in the Golden Wood

User ImageThe grass swayed as a gentle breeze swepted through the little forest clearing. Though, moderately calm and quiet, this little clearing was teaming with life, birds were chirping for pure joy, the little stream that ran through the it was gurgling happily as if in laughter while fish swam happily to and fro, rabbits munching happily on the lush green grass, the flowers were blooming making it as colorful as a rainbow and the sun shown happily down at it.

Alianna stepped out of the shadows of the trees, blinking a bit in the sudden brightness. The morning sun shone on her golden mane and tail, making them look like strands of glittering gold and the rays glittered slightly of her horn sending several shifts of light towards the shadows of the trees from whence she came. As her soft brown eyes strayed across the signs of life, she smiled happily, oh what a joy it was for it to be finally summer, the season of golden days and right now was but the beginning of another one.

She walked towards the little stream, having half a mind to take a sip to wake herself up a little bit. The lush green grass swayed once again in a gentle breeze as she dipped her head to take a drink, the little fish scattering quickly to avoid her mouth. The cool spring water felt so good in her mouth.

The sienna stallion's flat azure stare was unfocused, staring at the well-trodden dirt path beneath his hooves as he wandered aimlessly through the vast expanse of grassy plains. It had been a long time since he'd simply walked without purpose, without a destination in mind... but his thoughts were lingering on his recent encounter with his female friend, and the son of hers that had looked up to him.

A frustrated sigh befell his parted lips as he shook his head and attempted to clear his mind- quite unsuccessfully- and continued his trek through the sunlit clearing that had suddenly appeared in contrast to the dark, dense, grassy forest he had become accustomed to. He was used to the shadows that his mother so liked to hide herself in, despite how that seemed to have changed recently. He struggled not to let himself dwell upon the recent changes in his tiny family as well, instead focusing his attention on the bright horizon before him.

A curious raise of one eyebrow was his only response to the feminine form that appeared in his line of vision, standing astride a small river that separated the open field from the line of a sparse forest. The glittering of gold drew his eyesight to her mane, then the glittering horn protruding from her braided forelocks, and he blinked slightly in surprise. He'd never come across a unicorn in his wanderings before, although he'd heard that they were gentle souls, completely at odds with the dark and brooding atmosphere that he constantly projected.

Absently, he wondered if a unicorn might be put off at his adverse attitude, but he wasn't interested enough to try out his theory. A simple acknowledging dip of his head, barely perceptible, was his own greeting to the mare as she looked his way- though he couldn't be entirely sure she was even looking at him- and he stopped to lower his own head to drink from the cool waters a few feet away.

Alianna blinked her caramel brown eyes, was it just her imagination or did a brown stallion with long black flowing mane and tail just step out of the shadows of the wood? She blinked again, confirming this. It was not until now did she realize at the male before was a wind soquili. Curiosity gleamed in her gentle eyes, she had always been fascinated by them, almost envious of their gift of wings, able to fly wherever they please. Yet she noticed that the stallion before seemed to be rather distance, he hadn't said a word to her, just a dip of his head acknowledging her. It was strange, but his coldness did hardly anything but increase her now burning curiosity. She pondered for a few moments on how to approach him, but came to no avail. Perhaps it was his rather aloof and distant greeting that made her rather worried about approaching him. Yet nonetheless, she ignored it as trifle, perhaps that stallion was just not a morning person.

She walked towards the stallion pulling a warm smile on her face. She stopped in front of him and said happily,"Morning! Wonderful day, isn't it?"
