  Bright was having a wonderful morning. The air was thick with the scent of sweet pollen, and he'd found a perfect place for dozing, right in the midst of a cheerful pool of sunshine. The skies were blue and the grass was tall. He could dream of descending from the sky to rescue cute fillies for as long as he liked.
Alas, Bright's lazy morning was about to come to an abrupt end. He'd nearly fallen asleep when he felt a cold muzzle nudge at his belly.
"Sweetie~" His mother trilled. "We had a wonderfully luck red sunrise today! All travelers will have great fortune! That means it's time for flying lessons with your father. Isn't that exciting?"
"Aw, Mo~m," Bright groaned, blinking his bleary blue eyes. "Can't I have five more-"
Bright's Mom interrupted his complaining by rearing back on her hind legs, spreading her wings, and flapping a powerful breeze in his direction. It blew his grogginess clear away. Even his mane got thrown back!
"Up, up, up! Don't you think you need to be a better flyer, if you're going to save those princesses of yours?" The mare nickered, as though she was laughing at some private joke. "I'm taking your brother, since he's a pure Wind, and he can fly as high as I can. He'll find all those nice girls first if you don't hurry up!"
Bright scrambled into a standing position, flushed deep red between his thick black coat. Mom wasn't supposed to know about his daydreams! Augh! If she knew, then Dad and Zephirus knew, and Bright could just about die of embarrassment.
"There you go! That's my cute little boy." She leaned forward to nuzzle some of the dirt off of Bright's muzzle. "Hold still, you've got something-"
"Augh! Mom!" Bright tripped back, mortified at this assault upon his manliness. "Where's Dad??"
Bright loved his Mom, but sometimes he wished he had a sister to distract her. Moms were so embarrassing.

 Swift Wind was high up in the sky heading towards where to meet his one son, Bright Dusk. He had yet really gotten a good chance to get to know any of his sons. He did indeed want to remain in his children’s lives. Help them into becoming a great stallion that would win the hearts of lovely mares from all over world. The stallion was getting closer to where Blacklight was with their son, he then started to fly downward.
Making a graceful landing his deep blue eyes looked over his son. Such proud he felt inside for what he had created with Blacklight! He trotted over towards them and lifted his head high with a large smile. He couldn’t wait to teach his son a few things that would help in his future “Hello!” he spoke to both. Inside he couldn’t help but also feel a bit nervous he never was a father before and this was a new thing for him.
Still he would do his best to be there no matter what “Bright Dusk, I can see already once you are grown fully you will be quite a looker!” he gave a nod. Moving over towards Blacklight he gave her cheek a quick friendly nuzzle “How have you both been?” he was curious.

Blacklight nuzzled Swift Wind back affectionately. She really was glad to see him, even though her smile was a little wry. The mare was sure that he'd been off with that pretty young grounded girlfriend of his, and she was determined not to be a jealous old nag about it. They were only friends now.
Though the stallion did smell wonderful. Like high winds, and musk, and the pine of the forest.
"We've had a fortunate week," Black said. "The boys will be old enough to travel with me, soon, so we'll have to figure out a way to find one another."
She disengaged form Swift Wind in order to trot over beside her son and give him an affectionate whack with her tail. It wouldn't do to get too close to the father of her children. That would only make her miss him.
"Once this one gets his flying wings, we're all set to see the world! But first you two have to get better."
"I only flew into that tree the once," Bright mumbled, embarrassed that his Dad knew about his clumsiness. Dad wasn't around too much. Bright wanted to impress him.
The colt looked up at his father with big, hopeful blue eyes.
"You'll show me how to get better, right? Mom says my wings are more like yours, because we both have horns! So you'll know what to do! When I'm a better flyer, I'll do lots of cool things for sure. Like rescuing sick people and maidens in distress."

He was clueless of Blacklight's jealous feelings of his mare loving self. Giving her a look and a nod "I see? We should maybe take an adventure together or something?" he thought about Kaim for a minute. Wondering if he could get the mare to go as well. Of course it might be hard since she couldn't fly like the rest of them.
He watched them both and he laughed "Well nobody is perfect..I've flew into a tree when I was just a colt." he told Bright Dusk. Then started to walk over towards an open area. Giving his son a look "Of course I will show you how to be a better flyer." his feathered wings stretched out.

"An adventure together?" Bright piped up, a little too hopefully. "Like- all four of us? You and me and Mom and Zeph?"
The colt was young, but he wasn't stupid. He knew that his mother and father weren't, um, mates. They didn't have a family the way that other Soquili did.
But it would be nice to pretend for a little while. That Mom and Dad would both always be with him, and he could stay small and safe forever. It was a silly, stupid, baby dream. Bright swore that Zeph would never know that his brother was capable of being such a filly. How was he supposed to rescue fair maidens if he acted like a girl?
"Come on, Dad." Bright quickly changed the subject. His white teeth contrasted sharply with his sable coat, and his smile shine like the rising sun. "You have to tell me all about flying! And where you got all that neat stuff you wear!"
Black simply flicked her ears, and turned to go wake Zeph for his own flying lesson.
"You two have fun, alright?" She told them, in parting. "Be careful of any black cats you see! And... mm, have him back by dark, okay, Swift?"

Of course it be true they were not a family but still he was friends with Blacklight. Giving his son a nod “Of course. I wouldn’t have it any other way.” it would be nice to spend time with his two boys and to get to know Blacklight a bit more. Plus he really should introduce Kaim to Blacklight since he was sure the younger mare was always wondering where the heck he flew off too. He kept his blue eyes on his son listening talk and just gave him a nod while walking towards a nice clearing. Turning to look back at Black and giving her a dashing smile “Of course I will, love.” he joked around a bit “Seeya later.” giving a beckon motion with his head for his son to follow.
Stretching his huge feathered wings he looked to his son “Oh these things on me don’t help me fly. It was something a two-legger put on me so it could ride on my back.” he was never quite found of that. Of course it was always for a great purpose when she rode him but still he didn’t like heaving her on his back high up in the sky. Not to mention he felt like he was nothing but a pet. Giving him a look “So have you tried flying yourself or at least practice?” he asked him.

Bright spared a moment to watch his mother alight into the sky, before he turned to look at his father.
"Oh, yeah! I've practiced lots! I'm not as good as Zeph, though." A few locks of pink-white hair fell in Bright's eyes, and he managed to look utterly abashed. "There was, er. The thing with the tree. Like we talked about before. That happened when I was practicing."
And the time he'd crashed into the lake, and met Mister Kiyoshi. But... he didn't want to tell his father about that. He got the feeling that Mister Kiyoshi would not approve.
"Say, Dad, d'you want help getting that off?" Bright nosed at the side of the saddle. "That two-legger sounds really mean! I met another Soquili, once, and- and he said that creatures without wings are always jealous of ones with them. So they try to do bad things to them."

His blue eyes watched as Blacklight took off and then turned all his attention to his son. The alicorn stallion gave a small smile "Hah, that is true but nobody is perfect. Besides the late flyers tend to be better later in life!" he said to him. Swift Wind just shook his head "Nah. I am alright wearing this stuff." his caretaker barely rides him now these days anyways. He walked a bit closer towards his son but keeping a good space between them. He did not want to over crowd the boy!
He let out a laugh "They aren't that bad. Though to say every creature that is wingless is jealous is not quite true." he nods while thinking maybe he should have his son meet Kaim.

"I wouldn't like not being able to fly."
Bright fidgeted his wings uncomfortably. What would it be like if they weren't there at all? He didn't want to think about it. His cheerful peach pinions were as much a part of him as his hooves and his hind legs.
The colt snapped a smile into place, aware that he'd been about to start brooding. Mom hated it when her boys got too down, and he did his very beat to please both his parents.
"But I'm sure that not having wings makes it less awkward to run around! I'm, uh, not very good either. if I don't spread my wings to balance, I tip over."
Bright flicked his tail impatiently.
"So let's get started on flying, Dad! What should I do first? Flap? Or take off?"

Watching his son's features look a bit down he just smiled and shaking his head. His blue eyes looked at his son "That is true I am sure the wingless kind run much better then us." of course after having to deal with Kaim he was sure of it. Stretching his wings out and just raising his head to give the sky a good glance "Ah yes! Perfect flying skies." he could feel the gentle breezes.
"What I want you to do is start flapping your wings a bit to get a good idea of how you should take off." he wasn't about to throw his son up in the air just yet!

Bright obediently spread his wings and begun flapping them back and forth. His Dad was really, truly here! The colt was determined to impress him no matter what.
It took a lot of work to stay balanced with the force of his wingbeats trying to knock him of his hooves, but there was no way that this alone would take him into the air. Soquili weren't designed for flight. Their equine forms were not sleek of line or light of bone.
"How's this, Dad?"

The stallion kept a watchful eye on his son and gave him approved nod. He looked up at the sky just a bit and then back at his son "That is good so far." he started to slowly head towards the young colt. Lowering his neck and his head was now close by Bright's right front leg and taking a good look at the boy's hoof.
"Good. Looks like they are in well shape." he raised his head back up. Moving a bit away from the colt again "Well next part is the dash..wanna show me how fast you are?" he looked around seeing if he could spot a target. His blue eyes glanced about and finding an old big tree up ahead "Run to that." he told him.

"Okay, Dad!" Bright chirped.
This was it! He was going to run so great that his Dad was sure to be impressed! And then Dad would teach him lots of cool things and stay with him and Mom and he would be the best, most gallant colt that was every seen in the Kawani lands!
The colt stomped his hooves, focussed his mind on the target, and galloped straight towards the target.
Unfortunately for him, his wings wanted to move at the same time as his body, and they set him careening back and forth even as he tried to run in a straight line.
"Aaaah!"

The alicorn watched his son attempt to head for the tree. He watched the boy's wings move which caused Bright to not run straight "Fold them!!" he yelled out. His blue eyes wavered hoping his son wouldn't go crashing into something and getting hurt. He didn't want to move from his spot since he wanted his son to learn how to keep his wings under controll on his own.

"Alright, Dad! Watch this!!!"
The foal snapped his wings back into place just in time to avoid clipping one on a nearby hedge.
Okay! Bright could do this! All he had to do was pretend that he was some gallant stallion, swooping in to save a mare in distress. Yeah! That would be really cool!
He charged past the target, then realized he was going too fast to stop easily.
"Aaaaa!"
Thankfully, he managed to save himself by spreading his wings and flapping them. He reared back onto his hind legs and pulled to an abrupt halt.
"Yes! I did it!!"
