I was taken back.
Not that I have anything against black people.
But when I imagined Laurent he wasn't black.
He was average height, fair complexion, dirty blonde hair, no facial hair.

why? why are people shocked...LAurent plainly french in the book and there a TONS of black french people...I mean they didn't make everyone perfect so wht should one guy being black be so shocking

I was surprised too! I pictured Laurent as a person with pale, stone skin like edwards with shaggy black hair that covers some of his face.

I don't see why so many people are so suprised. In the book he's described as having black hair and olive toned skin..It's not so hard to think of him as being black..

Aqua Anjel KiraLight I don't see why so many people are so suprised. In the book he's described as having black hair and olive toned skin..It's not so hard to think of him as being black.. And some people actually thought Bella was Blonde (And I know why). People should pay more attention to the book.

It surprised me because Vampires are described as extremely pale. I guess Stephenie Meyers never explained what a black vampire would look like. It doesn't really bother me, though.
