[[RP between Azumoth and Grencia, again moving certain characters into position in preparation for some plots and whatnot. All sped up because Azumoth is going to be a daddy and we totally didn't expect it to be so soon!

They always said that a child inherited the qualities and skills of at least one parent. They may not look identical to that parent, but deep down in the darkest corner of their being they had quirks that made them so alike. It was these qualities, habits and skills that made an outsider capable of discerning that certain individuals were indeed related to one another. However, on certain occasions these qualities were not particularly visible and given the circumstances that no surrounded this unlikely pair, it was a good thing they weren't.

Sauntering after his father, Azumoth could do nothing more than glare at the ethereal wings that lined his back. Angelic in appearance and with an impressive span to boot he couldn't help but wonder how he had been given leathery wings instead. In a many ways they only thing that made him resemble his father was the orb in his chest and perhaps distantly...the horns. However, what he lacked in external appearance was made up for the qualities and skills he had deep down inside of him.

Complex?

Just a little...

But as he continued to walk after the larger mutant his mind was already filled with ideas. Plots, plans, pros and cons of the strategies he had conjured up in his mind. Some would work more effectively than others, while there were just some that would need to be completely dismissed. However, what he was certain of was the moment he exacted one he would have to move quickly to ensure that he didn't place anything else in jeopardy.

Yes, he was prepared to gamble but he wasn't going to lose everything to that monster.

Thus, it was of no surprise that he trudged 'obediently' after his father, the foreign orb in his chest sustaining his strength. There would be a moment when his father would slip and he would misjudge, then like the very monster that had created him...Azumoth would begin to play the same game his father excelled at.

He just had to wait for that moment.

It wasn't long before they were in familiar territory, while Kiyoshi remained uncertain of his exact location Azumoth was well aware of the positioning. They were of course in the forests that neighboured his own - heading upwards and through a ravine in the mountains would bring a creature to the borders of his own territory and what lay beyond it. As a result, it wasn't long before he began to smell the familiar scents and here the sounds of creatures he hadn't heard in quite a while.

He'd been used to sqawking and oddly colourful birds as of late, sassy cats but not raccoons and squirrels. If he were to be entirely honest the occasional flit of these creatures through the branches above his head simply strengthened his resolve and gave him that sense of security he craved. He wasn't home, but he was damn close!

Nevertheless, his reverie was halted abruptly as his father drew to a halt. Rarely was his father forced to stop and it was with a rather great amount of curiosity that Azumoth lifted his gaze to see what had caused the disturbance. What lay before him was not something he had anticipated, but he recognised that colourful plummage and the odd feathers that sprouted from the stallion's eyebrows.

Grencia.

"Going somewhere, are we?" Eloquent and as 'charming' as always, Grencia could have given even Kiyoshi a run for his money when it came to the use of seductive tones. However, this afternoon was somewhat different given that this 'charm' was accompanied by the dark glint within the wind's eyes. Ah yes, it would be wrong to assume that Grencia had come as a welcome party in the given circumstances.

Azumoth could do nothing more than return the gaze with a level stare of his own.

"It appears you have been given your second chance much more quickly than even I could have anticipated," Kiyoshi mused with a slight smirk on his lips. With that, he glanced over his shoulder towards his son and arched a brow, "Deal with him - I will find the cat," he finished and swung to his left to bypass the wind and to continue with his pursuit of his target.

"Not a smart move, father." Azumoth murmured quietly as he watched the stallion leave.

Grencia arched an eyebrow, examined his 'opponent' and quickly came to the conclusion that by the manner in which Azumoth stood he had absolutely no intention of attacking. On the contrary, the mutant had relaxed and had turned his gaze towards the wind - what Grencia hadn't expected was the bemused expression on the dark stallion's lips.

"You had this planned!" Grencia hissed increduously, glancing down at the pulsing orb in the mutant's chest for a few moments. Grencia had been informed that it would be the tool necessary to control Azumoth and yet here he was, being completely and utterly disobedient to his father. Clearly, Grencia had gotten lost somewhere in the middle.

"Not entirely," Azumoth confessed once he was certain his father was long since out of earshot. "I only planned it following the runaway feline's theft of my..." well what exactly was the orb in his chest? He called it his heart, it pulsed in sync with how he felt, but even without it there was a faint thump in his chest that indicated that he had a real heart underneath.

"Trinket?" Grencia offered helpfully, raising a brow as Azumoth seemed to consider his word before releasing a disgruntled snort.

"Something like that," he agreed at last. "However, one it was taken from me I would have to confess that only then that I begin to think that there may be another outcome to the situation I now find myself in."

"In others words you are back to being your infuriating and highly stubborn self."

"You say that as though it is a bad thing."

"It is." Grencia pointed out bluntly before shaking his head and releasing a chuckle, "However if you had lost your orb then what exactly is that in your chest...?"

"My father's."

A silence followed as both measured the weight of such a confession in their minds. To Grencia, this meant that Azumoth's father was vulnerable and without his own strength but it also meant that Azumoth wasn't entirely himself. The orb Azumoth was accustomed to was gone, in its place was a more concentrated trinket of power but Grencia wasn't entirely certain his friend could handle that level of concentrated energy.

"So he is vulnerable?" Grencia dismissed his own doubts carefully and returned to business. He had concerns of his own regarding his own son who lay in wait for Kiyoshi at this very moment. Without this orb did this mean that Ambroise would stand a greater chance of subduing Kiyoshi or did it simply mean that there would be more room for his still young son to underestimate the mutant.

"To a point..."

"It is undeniable that without the concentrated energies this orb possesses my father will be lacking in a certain amount of prowess," Azumoth had soon cottoned on to the reasoning and motive behind Grencia's questions and spared little time discussing trivial topics. That being said, Azumoth had never really been one for idle conversation as it was! If he were to spare time to chatter about the weather then there would be something fundamentally wrong with the world.

"His movements will not be as graceful and there is a chance is blows will not be quite as accurate," Azumoth began to pace as he considered the extent of the impact the loss of his own orb had caused. He had to take into account that his own was not willing and that could cause some issues but he had only recovered so swiftly after receiving his father's. Therefore he had concluded (in a manner of speaking) that there was some sort of link between the orb and those it was connected to.

"I sense a 'but' in that sentence," Grencia observed quietly, causing the mutant to pause in his pacing.

"You have to remember how large my father is in comparison to your son, he has a significant amount of armour and much more of an arsenal in terms of available weaponry," Azumoth shook his head, releasing a deep sigh as he envisioned his father against a wind soquili - really, the odds did not stack in Ambroise's favour.

"Plus, your father's wings do not appear real."

"They are real, they just cannot be touched."

"Problem."

"Huge problem," Azumoth confirmed given that the majority of aerial combat techniques involved rendering the opponent's wings completely useless. It was then that he planted a very firm and level gaze on his friend, it had not been a sudden realisation as he had known for a while but it needed to be voiced. "Ambroise will not live through the night if he encounters my father alone - Trial or not."

"The only way to subdue my father is to take him from both sides, without the prowess he would normally have he will not be as quick," Azumoth had returned to pacing and furrowed his brow in thought. It was not so much an observation he had made about his father but more he was aware of in regards to his own skills. There was no doubt in his mind that his father's reflexes would be hampered considerably while his son was in possession of his sphere but this didn't mean he could be taken down alone.

No - he would either have to be severely weakened through other means, or subdued by the power of more than one soquili. As of yet, Azumoth had absolutely no idea how he could use the sphere in his chest to his advantage. Yes, it was his father's sphere and therefore possessed a symbiotic link with him but Azumoth did not have complete control over it, thus...using its power would prove impossible.

That being said, the potential for his father to be pursued by both Grencia (a seasoned warrior) and Ambroise (his son) was there and could almost be a guaranteed success. It wouldn't be immediate and would still present a challenge to both - if Kiyoshi was able to grab their wings then it would prove more dangerous. However, if they were able to work quickly...

If only there was a weakness.

What was his?

Horns, no...Hooves, no - wings...sort of.

Chest, most certainly.

Emotional blackmail - ding, ding, ding!

However, his father didn't exactly have anything valuable (and to Azumoth's knowledge) to use as blackmail. Therefore that left only one spot - his chest and the 'weak' area where the orb should have sat as opposed to hanging from his father's neck. Would hitting him there be enough to stun him?

What a sad day it was when you aided another in killing your own father.

"His wings are invulnerable, his chest is not."

"Pardon?"

"Hit his chest, it is weak," Azumoth confessed at last. He knew it would be enough to stun his father but to kill him would take a little more. The moment the two winds even struck him it would be evident that Azumoth had told them how and where. Smart move on his part, that would place him under fire...or rather it would place someone else in the line of fire.

He couldn't let that happen.

"You need to go now," Azumoth didn't mean to be quite so dismissive but he already had rather unfortunate images running through his head and he needed to take measures to stop them immediately. "Your son will not last long."

"And you?"

"...I will catch up," Azumoth replied, unfurling his great wings as he began to move away at a brisk trot towards the borders of the forest once more. "Wherever your son waits is where you need to be, do not let him face this alone!" He called back, disappearing into the shadows of the trees within moments - it was there that he left his old friend to consider his words and went to deal with his own business.

He had to find her and he had to hide her.

Quickly.

Azumoth was not the only one who moved swiftly though, even as the mutant vanished into the trees the wind stallion had already broken into a canter and had begun to make his way towards the slopes.
