I'm having my birthday party in August and when I talked with my mom about it she mentioned something called hai-tea. I'm not sure how it's spelled. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone had heard of this. It's supposedly a tea that is used for birthdays a lot in Japan. I'd like to make it since this will be my first major tea party. Also, if you know any recipies that are good for tea parties please share. Thank you so much for your time. heart

High Tea -- it's the elaborate afternoon tea "meal" that is stereotypically associated with British Tea Time. As for what do to, are you going to hold the tea yourself or go out? If you're staying in, think fingerfoods and small snacks in abundance. If you're going out, find a nice tea parlor or a hotel that serves an afternoon tea.
