She had headed inland for a while despite the fact that she was fast learning to love the sea. She just needed to get somewhere different, meet someone new. Besides, she was in a rather cheerful mood today and she certainly did feel up to playing a prank or two, just for a laugh.

Because of her recent personality swap, she moved with wings fully in sight. No more masking her identity, pretending to be mortal. No, if people were going to see her, they were going to see her in full splendour. And besides, she did so love her wings very much.

So, in her attempt to cause some light-hearted mischief she was striding merrily across the savannah, focusing on keeping the pesky voice in her head at bay. Roko wasn't going to ruin things for Pelli this time.

Kazi was bored, no surprise there. Was he ever not bored? Well Buni amused him all the time. He loved her, she was like his minion but better because he could have fun with her. No one would ever beat them when it came to craziness, two immature Gods playing, it was quite something to see.

Kazi wasn't in a good mood today though, of course he really wanted to be with Buni but he wasn't sure where she was at the moment, probably causing some sort of mischief as usual but still he was grumpy. So there was no surprise that he was majorly annoyed when he saw someone heading in his direction with HIS wings. Thief.

He snarled, after all they were his wings and the goddess had clearly stolen them. He was around first, he was older that was clear to see. Oh she was in trouble, stealing his wings and then appearing looking so proud. Oh she would be so so sorry.

Unaware of the sort of thoughts she was raising in the other God's mind, the smaller creature continued onwards. She'd been momentarily distracted by a mental conversation with herself, arguing about which direction they were going.

It was the typical, 'you're going the wrong way', 'no you are.' type of fight that no one was going to win because they were both convinced they were right. Either way, she didn't realise Kazi was there until he was only a few strides away.

Stopping, she turned her head and glanced at him. She'd met him once before when he'd been a juvenile and she a cub. However, she was a little unsure of whether he was friendly or not. She couldn't quite seem to remember, but it had been a long time ago! Actually, much to her embarrasment, she couldn't even remember his name.

Maybe that should have given her warning bells, but it didn't seem to.

Seeing his snarl, she tipped her head questioningly. "What's wrong? Something in your eyeses?" She smiled, blinking her bi-coloured eyes.

He wasn't going to answer her. She was a thief. No matter that they had met once before the meeting must have uninterested Kazi so much that he couldn't remember at all. Then again he was very good at ignoring things and very good at forgetting that he deemed unimportant.

He just snarled some more, raising his body off the ground to it's full height. Something in his eye indeed. What the cheek. He stretched his wings, flapping them and letting the rainbows dance out of them. She couldn't do that, it was his power. If she could then well he would make it his mission to rip those wings off of her as they would without doubt be stolen. Only he had his power, no one else. Well other then Buni but that was because of her imagination and it was in her power and oh it was complicated, that and he had feelings he wouldn't admit towards the playful goddess.

If Rokopelli had been her usual self she probably would have gone bounding over to him, 'oo-ing' and 'ah-ing' at the rainbow spectacle he was creating. However, unlike their first meeting, Roko wasn't in charge. Pelli was. And currently she was experiencing something that might have been recognition.

Not recognition of him, but recognition of his facial expression. She'd seen that look in her mother, no Katana'k. No, mother. Ugh, she'd seen that look somewhere in any case and it never meant good things. It wasn't like Juukie's smile or Bahari'nswi's hug. No, not at all.

So she came to a halt, spreading her wings out wide in an attempt to make herself look bigger. After all she was a petite creature and her powers were still unstable, though she'd been practicing slowly at using them everyday.

"What's wrong with you?" She asked again, feeling herself frowning at him. "Something in your wingses?"

"Show off?" Roko chirped light-heartedly.

"Shut up!" Pelli shook her head viciously, the beads around her neck clicking.

He continued to snarl. He wanted to attack her but wasn't overly sure if that would be a good idea. He could make her dance to her death like he had done to so many when he was younger. It was without doubt his best pass time. She was however confusing to say the least. it was as if there two inside one body, well either way she was a thief and so thiefs should get whats coming to them. In Kazi's mind, that was death.

He moved his body into a threatening stance, making it clear that he was going to attack if she didn't submit or something. He was not in any mood to talk to thiefs. The nerve she had. Oh and she was so rude. She was going down...

She should have turned and run; fled and not looked back. She would have if Roko had been in charge, but this was Pelli now and she certainly wasn't going to back down. She was anger and vengeance, she was pride and determination. Besides, this lion was just plainn rude. She'd done nothing to upset him, nothing at all! And yet here he was snarling away as if she'd just called his mother a slimy, warty toad.

"Let's go, Pelli." Roko said in a tiny voice.

"No, no, no." She lifted her head and focused her attention fully on the male before her. "We practice powers on him, yes?" She laughed then, shaking the beaded wig from her face. "Wake up, wake up!" She stomped her forepaws and the golden snake bangles glowed, their jewel eyes sharp and angry looking. Then, they were bangles no more. They slithered down from her wrists, writing madly, their golden bodies gleaming in the sun. And then they slithered towards the dark pelted lion, hissing and spitting wildly.

Rokopelli looked on smugly.

Kazi did not care for such tricks and so letting out a soft hum would like anything make it dance to where he desired and whether he was going to make her or the fake snakes dance, well we would soon see.

He flapped his wings a little, more rainbows coming from them as he snarled some more, she was in for it now.

"Thief." He snarled as he tensed his legs to pounce, she was going down now. Stupid goddess thinking that her bracelets could do any harm, they were after all just bracelets! Why were there so many idiots in the world? Thats what he wanted to know!

She giggled, insanely. It was a loud, hysterical cackle and her eyes gleamed with excitement. She’d never perfected her snake illusion, not until this very moment. She had always compared their movement to Nyoka’s, spotting kinks in the way they flowed. But now, after practising, they looked like real golden snakes, their jewel-eyed stares piercing and cold. They flowed across the sand like water, pausing to hover in front of the dark-pelted god, hissing and spitting in the way a real snake could.

“Nyoka would be proud.” She spoke out loud to herself.

“We miss Nyoka.” Roko agreed in a small voice.

“We go back someday.”

And then she brought the snakes closer to the God, encouraging them to sway gently from side to side, like cobras in a trance.

And then the God yelled at her and the snakes disappeared, returning to her wrists as if they’d never been alive at all. Of course, the snakes had never been alive. It had all been an illusion. Concentration broken, Pelli gave a cry of sadness as the snakes disappeared, they could have been killed by the intensity of her reaction. And then the grief turned to anger and she bristled, baring her fangs.

Inside her head, Roko grimaced and shrank back, but in doing so she gave Pelli full control of her anger.

“We’re a thief, you’re a thief, everyone is a thief!” She spat angrily. “You killed snakes!”

She stepped forward. “Are you a stupid Katana’k?” She asked. “Katana’k was bad too. Then he was evil. Then he was just bad. He scarred us up.” She flicked her tail. “But we not forget him, ever.” She growled. “Snakes ours, not yours. Never yours. All mine! Thief, thief, thief!!”

"What snakes? You insane thing!" He hissed at her, not completely sure what to say to her. He hadn't a clue what snakes she was talking about and he hadn't taken any.

"You stupid creature. I am not bad nor evil and nor a thief. You stole those... they aren't yours." He snarled some more before changing his colour so he looked near invisible. HIs body was the same colour as the setting around them and he could only be seen as the colours changed for a second when he moved.

He lowered his body slowly hoping she wouldn't see the flaw in his powers. Then he could attack without her knowing and rip those wings off her. He would teach her. No one stole from Kazi.

Rage shuddered through her like electricity. Wasn't he listening to her? She wasn't a thief. Why would she steal anything from him? He didn't have anything shining or brilliant. She had jewellery, her own beautiful jewellery. As far as she could tell, he had nothing of any value on him.

She growled. "Lion is as dull as his pelt, Roko." But her other half was gone, shivering in terror in the recesses of her mind.

And then he changed colour and she thought her eyes were playing tricks on her. She spread her wings wide, swept them downwards once and leapt backwards, aiding her jump with their downsweep. She thought she saw the air shimmer and without thinking she extended her mental thread and sought to find his mind.

Kazi laid down sending out songs to any small creature near by. He wasn't sure what the goddess was doing but he could confuse her by getting them all to sing the same song. He had played this trick once before and it had worked but whether it would now, well he would see.

Filling his and others minds with the same song had confused someone before when they had tried to look for him, if it worked again now he would be proud but if not he would just make her dance to her death just as he did to many before. He loved watching them dance to their death it was hilarious. He loved it.

Now he just waited, watching. If she made a move he would be ready for the thief. How stupid could she be?

And when she finally touched his mind, she found the words of a song. Words of a song that she didn't know, but ones that enchanted her all the same. And all around her the song was echoed in many different voices, some high, some loud.

Half of her wanted to join in. Roko's half in any case.

"Do you hear that, Pelli?"

"Yes, shut up." She snarled. "No, wait. Don't shut up. Yell and talk, keep that racket out of my ears!"

And for once, maybe, Roko's constant, chirpy chattering came to good use. Too afraid to do otherwise, Roko began to speak about what she'd been thinking about the last couple of days, namely Juuku and his tricks, and swimming. She wanted to go swimming again.

With a smirk, Pelli listened as the songs drowned out by her own voice, the voice that was hers and the same time not. Then, she pounced straight at the source, sure that was where the God was.

He had been waiting for her to make a move and was keeping the song up making it louder by the second. He wanted to annoy the Goddess and so as she pounced he pounced from underneath her. At the same time willing her wings to turn grey and her body to be the same, including the snakes. every part of her he willed to turn grey as he moved.

He was going to make the thief pay. No one stole from him. Her wings would never be a rainbow while Kazi was about. He wouldn't allow the thief to prosper. She needed to die. Which was strange for Kazi, he hadn't ever wished on death on another lion before but then again no one had ever tried to steal from him before! What a mistake she had made.

And she felt him move as she pounced.

Rokopelli had no idea of her transformation. Not yet, anyway. She was too busy trying to ignore Roko's chatterings and keep herself fixed on the God's location.

She swept round, saw a flicked of movement and went for him again, claws unsheathed and ready to dig into flesh.

And as she reached towards him she saw, to her horror, that her paws were not her own. They were grey! Not brown! So where was her body? Where were her paws? She skidded to a halt, crying in rage and despair, staring down at herself in sheer dismay.

"Where have we gone?!" She shrieked, confusion trembling through her. She reached out for the God's mind, battering it with questions.

~Where is our body? Where have we gone? You took it! You took it! Thief, thief, thief!!!!~

But then if she was not Rokopelli anymore, who was she? Was she someone else entirely? Would she never be a Goddess again?

"Who are we?!" She screamed, lunging at him again.
