considering this must have been very recent to you because of your relationship status a couple months ago.... don't rush into a marriage, especially at your age, if you don't love the guy, don't marry him if you want to know how to word it try: "i don't want to go too fast, can't we hold off engagement for a while to make sure we're right for each other?" hope that helps

I don't know how old you are (hopefully he's around the same age), but considering the relationship staarted "recently". I'd tell him no straight up. Just to make sure you're clear->then you can explain why..
Say something along the lines of...We as people (you and I) haven't even defined who we are, or who we will be (I'm not just talking future jobs here either) so marriage is way out of the picture! Plus there are a whole buncha stats on marriage's that start early in life (as in they don't usually end well..-our parents generation was able to pull off the highschool sweetheart thing..but ours kinda sucks at it...)
Then there's HiS reason for wanting to get married. He's only known you fo a little while...maybe he craves connection or knows you have feelings fo someone else and just feels like he needs to make a bigger impression. Or maybe he just blurted it out. Meh. Lol I don't even know how long ago this thread was made xp but oh well... wink

for future reference zeato, the posted date is in the top right corner of the post area, yours has a posted date too, (learning is fun!!! lol) and i've learned from experience that it's always best to interpret how the person will react to what you say before you say it what you wrote sounds a little too speechy so it wouldn't sound very original and who knows what the guy might think to it, one on one conversations are different from group speaking, and what you wrote would be good for a group speech either way, i gave my opinion, and i hope it works out for the best

lol I certainly hope ppl don't say it the way I do! I tend to sound like a book. And god help us all if that speech was needed in a group situation. xd (btw I know where the post date is..I was just past caring enough to check it...Its usually pretty late when I get on the compy...another reason for my being so "speechy")
