Not really a training ground, but it's a section of the Soul Society that seems to go on forever. Hardwood and pines all around, where you can fight or just get lost in for a while. It is occasionally used as a training area for 13th Squad.
Just being in this area brings a sense of peace and a feeling of great age.

Maxi wonder aimlessly threw the trees, enjoying the smell in the air. He slowly sits beside a rather large tree and pulls out a flask of green tea.

Buru had been wandering for hours, with no intent of getting un-lost. His thoughts raced on the past six years of training. Sure he already could use any hand held weapon, it still felt like a dream to cast kidou at a target and to watch it take effect. What was extremely interesting was the fact that he could bind targets. The first time he was used as a target he couldn’t believe how painful it was to be pulled back and pinned by something one couldn’t see with bare eyes. He was one of the few that could pull himself back out of the binding spell. Physical strength helped but what one needed to be a Shinigami was spiritual strength. Samurai relied on their physical ability but now it was like having an extra set of arms and legs, he needed to learn how to walk again. His instructors did a great job teaching the old samurai new tricks and new fighting techniques. He was surprised how much he could learn from younger warriors. It was so impressive to see a few students be able to stand up to his swordsmanship. Of course he was by far one of the best weapons masters within Soul Society he didn’t feel right entering the combat specialist division. They where aimless killers that awaited for the next order; killing was an art and had it’s own rules and thirteenth division properly supported his views and ethics.
Stopping in an opening Buru looked to his four blades that rested firmly yet comfortably just above his but. His prized weapon, the zanpacto they called it… When he created it at first he doubted that it’d ever be like the sword he wield during his life. Out of the few memories he had of his past life he remember clearly what his weapon felt like, how it looked, and just how perfectly he was matched to it. There where so many times that that weapon was used as a tool rather than a weapon. He’d abused it, but at times the weapon would nick him as he swept it through his enemies. He qualified those times he’d make a mistake as his weapon abusing him… of course it was all in his head, and his sword was nothing more than his imaginary best friend. To be blunt he loved that sword with his entire being, and if it where to ever be permanently broke he would have literally put an end to his own life.
There where thousands of times he was offered a better and sharper blade, but always he turned it down. He had already fell in love with his own blade. He died holding his blade and as a corpse his hand had to be cut from his arm to take the blade. That was why he became a Shinigami. To reunite himself with his sword; when he created his sword his old friend came back from the living world and into the next. The large man was thought to be an emotionless samurai warrior, but he had to remove himself from the room because he couldn’t stop crying. It was then and there in the academy that people thought he was a bit strange. But none of them understood his connection between him and his blade. When he was left alone on a battle field where he was the only survivor his blade remained sharp, strong and reliable. He dragged his half limp body and his blade from that battle field to fight another battle and to become a commander of a lords entire army. This sword that he held in his hand was his best friend. Buru had named it long ago, when his father first gave it to him when he was only fourteen years old. For some reason though, he couldn’t remember the name. His instructors had told him that once he figured out the weapons name he’d know how to activate his Shikai. Buru didn’t care about gaining power… he wanted to know his best friends name.
Drawing the blade he held it out towards the sky, his thoughts calmed as the blade hummed a low soft tune before the sound hummed away into the distance. Why wont you ever whisper your name to me? My old best friend… When ever I draw you, your low hum always whispers calming words into my soul, but never your name.” Chuckling as he sheathed it he stared down to it as a friend look admiringly to his best friend.

Fefnir walked slowly through the mist of the forrest floor, his darkened clothing creating a silhouette that glided slowly along, almost as if he were nothing more than a trick of the eye. In this place, you could hardly see ten feet in front of you because of the thick fog, but it was better that way; Fefnir lived in the shadows of the enemy, so these conditions were almost ideal for him. How convenient that he would fight here.... He'd have to be very careful. If Yuki was, in fact, willing to accept his invitation to spar for the first time in such a log time, there was a good chance that she knew the layout of the forrest well and would know how to use it against him. There was also a distinct skill difference between the two captains. Yuki was most likely faster than Fefnir by a slim margin, and she had more combat experience than most would ever have in a lifetime. Fefnir would have to perform better than he had ever done in the past to even stand a chance against soeone like his old mentor. His skills had definately improved since he left his spot as her Vice-Captain for his captain's position, but would hat be enough to overcome such an opponent as this? All odds said no, but Fefnir had always had a knack for defying odds.
And now, he arrived at his destination, a large crcular clearing framed by trees on all sides. All there was to do now was wait, and so, he did.

Yuki had been waiting in the forest, having gotten Fefnir's letter of challange she accepted with a smile and viewed his choice of battlefield well. She looked down upon him from her perch in the tree, him walking through the fog made him look oh so menacing, but still she viewed him like a cat might view a particularly stupid mouse. Just to give him that creepy feeling of being watched she pulled on the branch above her head, and as it bent it made a creeeeeeek sound that a haunted house would be proud of. Letting the branch go she jumped to a few trees over, quietly as possible. She let out an evil laugh that filled the clearing with a haunting air as she lept from tree to tree.

Fefnir was a little surprised by the creaking he heard, and it made him jump. The laugh, however, was clearly Yuki's doing. Fefnir had been her VC quite some time, so he could easily tell that it was her. Fefnir slowly unsheathed his zanpokuto, making as little noise as possible as he did, then wrapped some reiatsu around his feet, enough to get him to his Two Step Shukuchi, where the reiatsu wasn't visible. The mist swirled and whorled around his feet, creating a veritable vortex around him. He also pushed some reiatsu into his eyes, causing fiery red energy to pour out of them. One Step Ocular Shukuchi would enable him to search for Yuki much faster than he normally would have been able to.
Fefnir leaned foreward, and with a wry smile, he disappeared. The fog seemed to break suddenly and curl upward from some unseen force as it passed through, and then there were footsteps rapidly appearing on the side of the tree right in front of Fefnir's starting point, the only symbols of his location. And then, he was gone again as he entered the canopy, leaping from branch to branch and fading in and out of view as he slowed down and sped up in his pursuit of his lost opponent. The entire world seemed to glow red to Fefnir as he scanned the horizon for any sign of movement from Yuki, but she seemed to elude him by just moments each time. There was evidence of her presence, such as broken foliage or footprints on branches, but she always seemed to be one step ahead of him. Finally, however, Fefnir caught sight of her a ways away from himself, and he stepped up his pace a little more to try and catch her.

Yuki felt Fefnir's riatsu spike as he activated his shikuchi. She couldn't tell what one it was, but it didn't really matter, since she could now feel him coming a mile away. She sped up a little as she felt him tailing her, to keep out of his sight. Once she was confident in her lead over him she stopped and quickly turned around. Just as quickly she drew her blade, so as Fefnir came at her she was already in a fighting stance.
She could judge generally where he was by the deep impressions in the wood bark he made. She guessed him to be one or two steps ahead and took a guesstimated swing with her zanpacto when she thought him to be within striking distance. Taking another guess she followed his general path of where he might go with her eyes.
"Good to see you again, Fefnir. Are you sure your ready for this?"
She asked him with an evil smirk. Recalling her last battle with him, where she nearly killed him with just her shikai by nearly ripping his ribcage open.

"Like I would have asked to fight if I wasn't?" Fefnir retorted as he parried the strike Yuki had made, redirecting the blade to his right and continuing his path toward her. He then followed up with an upward slash at her left arm. "And it's nice to see you too, Yuki,"

Since Fefnir stuck around for another shot at her, Yuki was a little off gaurd, and ill prepared for it. She took a step backwards and fell off the branch, Fefnir's blade cut a few strands of her hair as she dropped past. About halfway down the tree she braced for impact and landed. rolling out of it easily with little more than a tingling sensation left for a large surface of her body. She rolled into a nice fighting stance, facing Fefnir.
"That the best you got?"
She demanded, giving him a cocky smile and a tilt of the head.

"Hmf!" Fefnir snorted, his defiance showing as he crossed his arms and stood straight, his glowing eyes shooting daggers at her. Then, he leapt down at Yuki and rolled on impact, landing about fifteen feet in front of her in a stance that wasn't really a stance, but rather was an instinctual move, a way to seem more ready to attack. Fefnir pushed off of the slightly damp ground towards Yukiwith his left foot, and he disappeared, leaving another wake in the fog around the two. He was near her, in the air, in almost a fraction of a second, near enough on her right side to make a quick strike at her forearm, which he then doubled up on with a kick from his left leg a second later, aimed at her midsection.

Yuki watched Fefnir closely, seeing his riatsu circle his legs in a omen to his oncoming shikuchi. When he moved she felt him getting closer, and turned to spot him as he lept into the air. And seeing opportunity, she dropped her Zanpacto almost instantly She took a step forward to get inside his strike range, and grabbed his wrist, pulling him off balance as she carefully avoided his leg wile he kicked. She kicked out one foot at his only remaining leg to totally get him airborne. She put one hand on his armpit, and held onto his wrist. Twisting his wrist, to make him let go wile she threw him, she used her hip and shoulder pushing up, and with her arms she pulled forward. Literally throwing him. She quickly picked up her blade and went after him. Intending to stab him before he could recover.

"NNgg!" Fefnir grunted as he felt himself being thrown off balance as Yuki grabbed his arm and pulled him in. She clenched his wrist in an attempt to get him to drop his zanpokuto, but he managed to barely hang on to it as he was launched over her. Fefnir used the momentum he had to try and right himself in the air, but he didn't quite get the rotation he wanted, and landed on his side. As he hit, Fefnir tucked in his shoulder and had it absorb most of the impact so that he could roll and turn toward Yuki almost immediately, though he was still skidding backwards a little. He pushed off again towards her as she was running toward him. Two Step Shukuchi wasn't going to be fast enough to do anything at this point, since she seemed to almost know where he was going to be... No one had ever been able to predict his path when he used Shukuchi before, but he couldn't say he didn't expect as much from a shinigami as fast, probably even faster than him. There must be some trick to it, but it was out of Fefnir's thoughts as he and Yuki were close to each other in a second. Fefnir blocked her stab attempt as the two collided, the blades sparking as they slid, with Fefnir's on the inside. Fefnir's zanpokuto hit the hilt of Yuki's, and when it did, he pushed his own hilt out toward her face in an effort to break her nose.

Yuki wasn't one to like getting locked in with blades twisted. She was shorter than almost everyone and that gave almost everyone the advantage in such situations. Because of this, vary early in her shinigami career she had to teach herself to get out of these situations quickly. With a quick step to the side she let Fefnir push her blade downwards. It looked like he was trying to do something, by the amount of force he used to push it down, but she didn't care. She pulled one free hand back and went punch him in the face. That would teach him not to corner her!

Fefnir was surprised by how quickly Yuki had sidestepped his strike, and was totally unprepared for her follow-up punch, which hit him cleanly on his right cheek, knocking him a little ways from her, about twenty feet total after he hit and slid. He had bit his cheek after the strike was made, but he stood quickly and spit most of the blood out before saying, "So it seems you're the only one who can track my movements.... I guess I'll just have to be faster!" Fefnir intensified the reiatsu around his feet enough to take him to the next level; One Step Shukuchi. Fefnir would be so fast, Yuki would have, at least, a very hard time tracking him, however she was doing it. It hadn't even seemed like Fefnir had moved from his standing position before he disappeared, almost instantly appearing behind Yuki. "Burn Forever, Kaji Hitokage!" He called in the middle of his downward strike from behind. Instantly, Fefnir's zanpokuto warped into a jagged, blood red blade, emanating an intense heat. Just like the last time he and Yuki had fought, his blade exploded with white light and even more energy than Fefnir was used to using in his shikai release. A cloth attached to the hilt also slowly began to turn red, but it was almost unnoticeable at this time.

Yuki could have slapped him for making such a rookie mistake as announcing to his opponent that he was going to be moving faster, and letting her keep on her toes. She made a note of when this was over to do just such a thing. He may be a captain, but he would always be her VC. When he dissapeared she didn't even try to track him, she took a good guess that like anyone with speed, he would go behind her to attack. She shunpoed out of the way, and when she felt the heat she knew he had let shikai go. Arthion urged her to do the same, ready for a re-match.
"Roar, Arthion!"
She said, in response an intense heat radiated around her as the familiar claws wrapped around her hands. She took a quick turn and shunpoed back to Fefnir, using one claw in an upward slash that would be fairly familiar to Fefnir because of their last battle, and the other claw she used to catch his blade, making an evil hiss and sparking as the two met.
