((Note: this is after Echo got his staff... even though that's not done... so it might end up being a little different? ^^; ))

Echo's solid heels clicked and clacked along the sidewalk. THere was something else, and it didn't sound quite right...more like a: click, clack, ting. If a blind person walked by, it might bee a little confusing. It was uniform in the steps - so either this person had three feet or they were walking with a cane.

They would have been.... somewhat right. Echo definately had two legs, and the 'cane' was actually a kind of staff. A doctor or pharmacist might have recognized it.... Echo did - but only in the same way: a symbol for the medical community. Unfortunately, it was a bit large to pin on her shirt, or stuff in a backpack. So, instead, she walk with it. There were two "ends". One was what the small woman holding it would have termed as the 'busy' end and the 'lonely' end.

You see, the 'busy' end had a lot of things.... it had a rounded ball with two white wings attached. Not only that but the curling snake heads faced each other on that side. The 'lonely' end was really the plain side. You could say that the curling snake tails were there... but that was so boring in comparison.

But as Echo carried, one could not be sure which end was 'up' and which was 'down'. It seemed that the busy end should be up, and the lonely end down, but the small woman was grasping the plain end of the staff (or very elaborate cane). The busy end was actually what was making the 'ting' sound as it was tapped to the sidewalk near her feet. So which was up and which was down? Was there such a thing?

Echo, of course, walked oblivious to such soul-searching questions. She simply followed the sidewalk, listened for cars, and nodded to the occasional passerby. No, the woman was on her own agenda. She needed to buy a "cute summer dress" for the lake party she was invited to. Echo did not care for "cute" or "dress", and even less so when it was in the same sentence.

The two females walking had less of an agenda and more time to waste, choosing to spend said time on a walk. Kore often liked to go out and Ki didn't have the heart to say no to the darling girl. The winged child was in her element, white feathers basking in the sun, chin held high, hair wafting around her antlers and twig-like crown. She hummed softly, hands folded at her waist, impossibly blue eyes shifting between the equally blue sky and the path they walked.

Ki simply followed, for her part. She wore a high collared shirt with her right arm covered in a singular sleeve, the majority of her dark hair pulled into a bun, the white whisps of her bangs sideswept as usual. Despite the strange arm piece, she wore shorts with the ensemble, sneakered feet falling into pace behind her daughter. The woman wasn't paying too much attention to where they were walking - she knew the town like the back of her hand, maybe better - lost in her own thoughts of Kore and the child they'd met at the park not that long ago.

That was before the girl stopped, her 'mother' nearly running right over her. Kore turned her eyes down the block, listening, before taking a sudden detour and hanging a right. She wasn't concerned that her mother would lose her, hearing the confused scuffle of her shoes adjusting to follow, satisfying the barefoot girl. She padded down the sidewalk, pausing a short distance from a woman and a cane. It was the latter of which that Kore regarded with great curiosity, tilting her head to better observe the walking staff.

Pausing an equally short distance away, Ki watched the girl, wondering what had caught her interest this time. Sometimes it was as simple as a butterfly, but others...well. She'd wait and see.

There weren't that many cars about, nor people. So when Echo heard footsteps and then they stopped behind her, she knew that something was up. The curiosity of humanity grasped her, and she turned around to see who had stopped and why.

Only, when she turned, she saw a rather strange appearing girl... who was looking at her. Echo stared right back. No.... the girl was... looking at her staff.

Okay, so she was a little kid. Echo was confident that if needed she could overpower the little git. Hopefully it didn't come to that, but why is she looking it so intently? Better not be trying to steal it.

Echo shifted her position. Instead of leaning on the staff, she lifted it behind her and rested it against her shoulder. The gold winked in the light as it moved. It was a defensive motion, though it was not overly obvious.

"Hello? Can I help you?" Echo asked. "Are you lost?" She didn't kneel down, though she didn't have to much anyways - Echo was just short. The woman looked up, as another person came around the corner. Echo took an indesicive step back. She wasn't sure she could take on two...
