Rainsong stood by the river, one paw raised over the water, waiting for the shadow of a fish to pass under her waiting claws. She spotted a shadow coming her way and tensed, ready to fish it out. However, the ground underneath her was muddy and she was slipping. Before she realized it and could do anything, she fell into the water. "Oh no... Well I guess it's a good thing I'm a RiverClan cat." She laughed at herself. She was used to her own clumsiness and was optimistic about everything.

Spidertail ran towards the river as fast as his feet could carry him. The loud splash told him something had fallen in. If it was a RiverClan warrior he was determined to help them; if it was a ThunderClan warrior he was prepared to tell them off for being in RiverClan territory.
A second before he reached the river, the scent told him it was a RiverClan warrior, Rainsong to be exact. When he arrived, a wave of relief washed over him as he realized that she was virtually unharmed and laughing, but still soaked.
He purred with amusement, "What happened, Rainsong?" he asked, but Spidertail could almost guess.
Events like these were not uncommon with Rainsong.

"Oh, I just fell in again," she replied, slightly embarrassed, but still laughing. "I hope you weren't worried about me..." She swam back to land with ease. Luckily, the current wasn't very strong where she fell in, so she was unharmed. The water was cold, but the sun was able to warm her back. "Oh, I must've scared away all the fish," she said, looking back to where she had been fishing.

"I was a little worried", Spidertail admitted, still panting. He was glad that it was still warm out. Now wasn't the time for a warrior to catch a cold. "Well, at least someone fishing at another part of the river will have good luck," he tried to sound optimistic. Rainsong's walking looked fine, so he was sure that she didn't sustain any injuries. But he wasn't a medicine cat, so he wasn't quite sure. "Do you need any help getting back to camp?" he asked.

"I'm fine, just wet." She shook her fur out, sending drops of water in every direction. "And now my fur is puffed out," she added with a laugh. "I was thinking of trying another place in the river to fish, or maybe I could try looking for a vole somewhere." Her stomach growled. She had left the camp earlier in the day to do some hunting, but she hadn't caught anything yet.

Hearing Rainsong's stomach growl made Spidertail realize that he hadn't eaten anything in a while, either. "I'm not on a patrol, or anything, but I'd be up to some hunting," Spidertail replied. He flexed his claws in the dirt, and padded nearer to Rainsong. "So, how'd you fall in anyways?

"The bank was muddy, so I guess my weight caused me to slide into the water." She gave a small laugh to show that she was okay. After all, she was a RiverClan cat. "Let's go search for sme prey, then!" she said and took off, making sure not to get to close to the river. She may have liked water, but she didn't want to fall in again and scare more prey away.

"Ok," he replied and started to run after her. They were heading inland, probably because all the prey around were they were had scattered. The wind carried a faint trace of vole, but he wasn't sure that it was anywhere nearby. Regardless, Spidertail kept his ears pricked.

After a little running, Rainsong caught sight of some movement in some bushes. Carefully, she crept closer, picking up the scent of vole. She went slowly; she didn't want to accidently do anything that would scare the prey away. Finally she got close enough to pounce. She came out of the bushes with a vole hanging from her mouth and a pleased look on her face.

"Good catch," Spidertail meowed. He stopped to search for more prey, and caught a scent near a tree. It was a chaffinch. Slowly he crept up, preparing to pounce, when he heard a snap under his back foot. The finch cocked his head, and took off.

Rainsong buried the vole for later, then giggled at Spidertail. "That wasn't my fault this time." She checked for the scent of prey, but couldn't smell anything. She looked to see if Spidertail could find anything.

Spidertail felt a flush of embarrassment, and turned to face Rainsong, "I know. I accidentally snapped a twig back there, I think." He wiggled his head back and forth to sense any movement nearby, but couldn't find any places were prey could possibly be hiding.

Rainsong flashed Spidertail a smile and said, "Well it's okay. We all make mistakes." Then after finding no signs of prey, she added, "Maybe we'll have better luck somewhere else."
