As with the Medic, I'm going to review this Love vs. Hate style, but I've going to try grouping ALL the loves/hates together. Tell me if you like it.

Why I LOVE it

First off, the compression blast is a pretty perfect enhancement for the Pyro. His major weak point is that he has absolutely NO range on any of his weapons, so giving him more power up close balances everything a little more.

Secondly, Valve learned that their players don't want to slit their wrists over insane achievements. They still exist, but now you can skip about eight achievements to get all the weapons, leaving room to get all three weapons now, and having some fun later.

The Bakburner is definitely my favorite of the three unlockables. It might be a tab weaker than a standard flamethrower (and lacks the brand new compression blast), but it gives you the choice of becoming a sneaky Pyro and getting some extra punch if someone is running away.

The Axtinguisher provides a nice exclusive bonus for a Pyro (or team of Pyros). You always want your melee attacks to cause the most damage due to the close range required, and a guaranteed critical can make quick work of pesky foes.

Why I HATE it

The Flare Gun SUCKS. Not only is it the ONLY ranged weapon for the Pyro, but it only shoots one flare at a time! The ONLY time this might be useful it picking out a sniper, and even then only to make him run and get health. The normal shotgun is also a good tool against other Pyros (because they don't burn), and the flare gun leaves you with an axe, or a really weak Axtinguisher that won't get any critical hits because you can't get a light.

The Axtinguisher has 100% crit chance on flaming enemies, but if you can't get one to burst into flames, you're a bit of a weakling . I don't hate this TOO much, as you'll still be able to use a flamethrower or shotgun, but it goes back to wanting the most bang behind a melee, and this one is HIGHLY situational.

Overall, this is another good pack. Valve learned from the Medic pack and make good progress for the Pyro. The weapons don't seem as much of an improvement as the Ubersaw and Blutsauger, but that could also be that a flamethrower causes a lot of damage to begin with.
