Time slipped by like a flowing river from season to season as children grew into adults and learned their true purpose in life. Mares whom became mothers watched over their offspring with high hopes that they would become shadows if not perfect replicas of their parents. So was the same for the Chinese ghost mare that had watched over her children with a keen eye. Both needed quite a bit of training on their part, but she never pushed them more then they were able.
Walking silently she pondered a thought as the wind stirred her fu back and forth. There was a smell of uneasiness that lingered on the breeze like a bad omen. Letting her mind drift a bit she remembered back to the day where precious friends and family in her eyes were threatened. The renowned elder of such praise was in a situation where her life was holding by a thread. Hsien-Ko didn't think very hard on the situation when something of that magnitude was escalated. Now drifting back to reality she gritted her teeth and stomped the ground in frustration. Her eyes narrowing with a twinge that shifted from her neck to her withers.
Raising her head she called outward, "Qin, Martin, Gong. Before me now!" she commanded with her mind traveling in fast motion as she waited impatiently for them to come at her call. She knew well that dragon wasn't a forgiving creature, time would shift once more and faces would be in the presence of one another. A battle would ensue and Hsien dreaded her family being brought into her problems. But she knew deep inside that Cynder would do anything for revenge if she had the gall to attack an esteemed elder because of a ferret.
Hsien would never allow her family to be scarred because of her own decision.
Slinking through the wooded clearing there stalked an ebony creature aligned with crimson highlighted with strange blue symbols. She stood impatiently waiting for that insolent male, a truce perhaps in a more designed way to hunt in a pair rather than the usual solitary stalking. Not that she cared for Spyro's opinion in the matter, as far as she was concerned he could bite sheep. Most likely all he was good for anyway.
The thought amused her in a cynical matter grinning all the more. Such a naive little hatchling in her mind. All he was concerned about was getting her back for things she didn't have any dealings in. Pitiful really the b*****d was just like most males anyway.
Flicking her tail she waited with smoke billowing from her nose in short puffs of her irritation. "Heh You think for once purple pest you could perhaps be on time. I don't care for waiting on you when I could be hunting on my own." She knew he had recently entered her train of thought and space that was surrounding her. The smell of charred brimstone stuck with him like a party favor.
Maybe now she could hunt. It was about time anyway since he finally decided to take her offer.

Sypro indeed had taken his sweet a** time getting to where he was suppost to meet Cynder at. tail lashing about behind him, as he walked up to Cynder. the only reason he agreed to this truce was there was more fun to be had in this hunt rather than bitching and fighting with Cynder. " testy as always i see." it wasnt hard to figure she was not at all pleased with him for being late which he did on purpose. " shall the fun begin or are we goign to stand here all day?" grining now, he awaited her snappy comeback.

Galloping swiftly, the young filly made haste to her mother. She knew her mother was the law, and it was best to listen to her. She was respectful of her mother, even if she was a young princess, she had much to learn.
"You called for me mother?"
Spoke the white filly as she skidded to a halt in front of her mother, her cap almost falling off as she did.

Martin had been enjoying a nice day in the meadow when he heard his something. He flicked his ears as he heard his mothers call. Her voice sounded agitated, it made him worry. He cantered out of the meadow and over to where his father was standing by the stream. He called out, "Dad, Mom called us, I think something's wrong!" He skidded to a stop next to his father.
Qin too had heard his mate's call, and he could also detect the worry in her voice. He turned to call to Martin, but saw that his son was already cantering towards him. He flicked his tail nervously, but didn't want to alarm his son, so he said patiently, "I heard, but lets not get in a knot until we know why she called."
Qin looked around for Zi, and spotted her nibbling at a blueberry bush. He called out to her, "Zi, something might be wrong" Zi trotted towards Qin and answered, "Yes, I heard." She loped off towards Hsien. Qin nodded and cantered off following Zi, and hearing the sound of hooves saw Martin cantering up next to him.

Cynder eyed the male with that cynical gaze within her retched eyes. They narrowed all the more before she reached her point in this little game of hers. "I'll get right to the point then, " she sneered with a flick of her tail as it brazed through the air behind her, "Its time the hunt progresses handsome one. I'm enacting my perfected scheme for the manners I was displayed. Seems that mare has her family out and about...." she grinned at him with a snide wink. Loving this all the more Cynder savored victory that would soon fill her belly and wellbeing.
"I'm offering you anything you can grab if you so desire. I'm sure newly grown foals would fill you nicely, or rather give you the thrill of the hunt chasing after them. Interested in my hunting strategy... hmm?" she continued to watch him knowing he definitely couldn't resist the urge of a dragon. Feasting upon sweetened flesh and giving chase was something they were born into from the moment eggs cast their shells and hatchlings were born.

Noticing her children as adults she felt a proud surge through her with an intensive happiness. Such sleek coats and finely tuned heads had graced their beauty in the days of adulthood. They were indeed her children which made her want to protect them with her very life.

Hsien nodded to her daughter with a toss of her head, "Urgency has arose in the heart of the warriors my daughter. Its time I retold the tale of something from season's past. Her eyes held regret hoping Gong especially would not think ill of her for keeping them in the dark.

I only hoped this wasn't needed till you all became a bit stronger, but the scent on the wind carries malice and harm upon a demon's wings." Narrowing her eyes she looked at the three of them.
"Cynder has arrived once again."
Sighing she waited for questions and concern from them. There were certainly things that needed laid out before they could prepare for such a fight as this.

Qin nodded gravely, his normally lighthearted demeanor turned to stone at his mates words. Zi raised her nose to the sky and took in a long sniff. She coughed once, her eyes watering, and stated, "The wind carries the stench of kalona"
Qin looked sharply at his famaliar, Zi, and said, "Zi, this is not your battle." Emotion whirled inside him and he choked out, "I-I do not want you to be harmed."
Zi raised her eyebrow at Qin and said, "Not on your life bucko." She laughed dryly, "And it may come to that."
Qin sighed, there was nothing he could do to stop her. He turned to Hsien, and nuzzled his mate, trying to tell her it would be alright. He withdrew and asked, "How much time do we have?"
Martin froze, just the name Cyander seemed to bring a shadow upon the earth. He felt cold inside, his breath ragged. He turned to his mother and asked sharply, "Cyander is a Kalona?!"
He was almost sick, he and Gong had been training for a long time, but never in his lifetime had he thought that he would ever face off against a Kalona. Martin asked, his voice horse, "Exactly who is Cyander?" He added dryly, "Aside from being a fire breathing Kalona who wants to kill us all."
Qin looked sharply at his famaliar, Zi, and said, "Zi, this is not your battle." Emotion whirled inside him and he choked out, "I-I do not want you to be harmed."

" always quick to the point which makes things oh so easyier to get through." Spyro had a grin plastered on his face. he was iching to be having some fun. " if you must then fine, though i do love having fun toying with them first my dear." tail lashing about, he had no problems waiting as he knew there was fun to be coming in due time.

"I will follow your lead mother. For the blood of a warrior that flows in your veins also flows in mine."
Politely the white mare responded, she took after her mother in attitude and personality. She was determined to take after her mother as much as possible, she wanted to become a warrior of great prowess and perhaps one day surpass her mother.
"Obviously, brother, Cynder is someone mother fought and defeated long ago. That can be the only logic behind it."
The black haired mare was simply dumb founded by her brother's flakiness, speaking aloud when he had no idea what was going on. She couldn't quite understand her brother, and she figured she never would.
Politely the white mare responded, she took after her mother in attitude and personality. She was determined to take after her mother as much as possible, she wanted to become a warrior of great prowess and perhaps one day surpass her mother.

Cynder looked sideways at the purple pest feeling a bit of happiness in her cynical fashion. He definitely was worth the trickery she used upon him with hardly lifting a claw. Perhaps there was a future hanging around this naive little boy. Oh the delicious thoughts of grandeur that nonchalantly filled her mind.
"Yes it seems the family is gathering... Oh the panic that ensues. I've watched that mare named Hsien-Ko raise those pathetic children of hers rip to this point. I doubt it rarely that the stallion will come to the aid of his beloved mate. Feh... mate... I see no reason let alone bearing children in a sense of love." she hissed slinking her head around as if she were a snake.
"I'll take on the daughter and you take on that son of hers. Way I see it... Hsien can't protect them both the way things are falling into place right now. She'll have to make a decision which will be her most precious. Hmm I take it you get where I'm coming from then... good." she smirked leaning in closer to Spyro, her side nearly touching his, "Shall we then? Show me just how bad and undermining you can be." She smirked breathing a sweet brimstone breath outward before her wings were pulling her into the sky.
Soon very soon payback would be in the kalona's favor.

Hsien watched them arrive as her eyes held an air of worry. There were two scents upon the wind which meant more trouble than she would have wanted for her beloved loved ones. Would Qin be able to stand by her side and protect what was most precious to him in the heat of a life threatening endeavor such as this?
"Cynder is a kalona dragon Martin... a very deadly one. She even took initiative to attack an elder whom I greatly respect. She's not the type to simply let sleeping wolves lie for that long. Now that she's found another her cynical attitude will drive her to find me once more. I sense she's preparing herself for a battle. Its a wary feeling that wraps around myself like a tightening grip." she murmured with a narrowed gaze.
"I've never want to endanger my family such as this, but its come down to that option. My children in the training you've learned you will need every trick and powerful notion in your minds. These dragons aren't pushovers and they seek the blood of myself and you." her eyes settled with a bit of regret for a moment before turning to her mate, her muzzle touching his, "Qin. I won't be able to do this alone. You need to find that warrior within yourself and follow the teachings of your bloodline. She's going to target the things most precious to us... Bai and Martin. We must protect them should things turn dark and foreboding. I can't stress this enough seeing what lies ahead." Stomping her hoof she gritted her teeth, "Damn you Cynder...."
Looking to her daughter her eyes sparkled, "Bai.... you and martin are my life as is Qin and Zi. Even Mei-Ling where ever she may be sits in a treasured cove within me. By the honeroed code of my bloodline I'll do whatever it takes, should I lie motionless afterwards to protect you all. That is a warrior's promise."
Closing her eyes she sighed heavily, it was going to take more than deep words to get them out of this mess.

Spyro wrinkled his nose in disgust as she talked of the mare she wanted revenge on. " alright, this should turn out to be alot of fun." smirking back, her plan was brilliant and one he didn't mind following threw with as it ment more than likely he could have his fun. " oh yes lets go and you will see." now grinning, he watched ehr take off first before following right behind her.

Qin hissed silently, then stood tall and said, "I will fight to the death for Bai and Martin Hsien, I always will." He raised his head and looked to the sky, something evil was comming on the winds. It wouldn't be long.
Qin turned his head around and nosed Zi gently, whispering softly, "Zi, do not come to any harm, or I shall never forgive myself for not forcing you to leave"
Zi growled in responce, flicking her tail angrily. She couldn't wait to sink her teeth into Kalona skin.
Martin shot a look at Bai, a pouting look. He tossed his head and replied, "Mother, I shall use everything you have taught me." He gnashed his teeth, he desperatly wanted to fight; if only to show his sister that she wasn't the only warrior besides his mother in this family.

The young mare turned her head quickly, she felt that Martin was a fool, acting as if he learned more from their mother, than she had. They were equals, albeit she was more likely to use what her mother taught her with better ease. Her ears rotated as she picked up sounds in the sky and she turned her head swiftly.
"Mother. I hear something coming..."

Cynder motivated herself to pull deeper into the clouds as she searched for that unforgivable mare she'd pay respect to in her own fashion. She was quite angry this day wanting sweet blood of that subject which made her side burn miserable with humiliation. Hsien would pay dearly by the bated breath she spewed in brimstone and flame, an oath that wouldn't be overlooked. As her wings moved her along she picked up a faint scent, one that made her grin with glee.
"Finally... you show yourself mare! And look its a family outing just for my amusement. Let the rain bleed from the skies because you my dear are mine!" she hissed with a laugh that echoed in her deep throat. Time to pay the piper b***h. Looking over at her purple escort she smiled wickedly. "Shall be like taking candy from a baby..." Swinging her head downward she saw the annoying mare then turned to spyro, "Its time handsome one... show me just how fearsome you can be!" With a curve of her wings she swerved downward, heading toward the daughter eager to cause a little hell amongst a seemingly happy family.
Hsien could smell the burning as her head rolled her gaze upward. "It begins..." Tossing her neck she clenched her teeth to her family. "Be sharp and don't overlook anything. I will take on Cynder myself. Stay calm and do not interfere if battle ensues. I don't need bloodshed of my family if it can be helped." Herding Bai near her she pawed the ground letting the metallic clang ring in warning toward the approaching dragons. Her eyes were narrowed with anger, yet she knew this time was coming rather she wanted it to or not. Rearing upward she called a warning to the dragons, an ultimatum that Cynder whispered straight from her heart. "Come Cyynder... meet my clawed hooves once again! I shall protect what is dear to me ... for that you will not take from me!" Eyes wide with an eagerness she prepared to battle the incoming danger.

It certainly wasn't a battle unless she was there by her friend's side. With teeth, claws, determination Mei-ling was just as intimidating as Hsien. An inseparable team when they were together in the past. Just a little further... she'd be there soon. "Hsien.. wait for me..." Her eyes searching drastically for the appearance of Hsien, she spotted the dragons long before. "Oh hell.. not good...'

Spyro followed silently and grinning the whole while. " oh my dear you will see just how fearsome i can be." snearing, he went into a dive right as cynder did but towards the son as Cynder took on daughter. oh this was going to be great fun indeed.
