So, my friends and I were at Hot Topic last weekend (Yes, I shop there. Yes, I like it. Don't shoot me.) and SleepingTrinity was putting on the boots she had ordered a bazilion months ago that finally arrived.

While her and BloodlyLuna were trying their best to unbuckle all the buckles on the boots, I went over to the magazines. My intent was to get a Johnny the Homicidal Maniac, but by accident I picked up some goth mag.

Uninterested, I tried to sit the mag back on the shelf, but it fell off because I can never put anything back right.

When I bent over to pick it down I found the most wonderful surprise! Two whole pages dedicated to Gothic & Lolita Bible! I screamed... very loudly. lol.

Sorry for that long boring story. But It was exciting, and I just thought some of you would be slightly interested for some odd reason. Hooray/Boo for Loli becomming popular in America.

Really wonderful. whee
I just bought a really cute pair of maryjanes yesterday, 'cause I was tired of my old pairs really hurting my feet. So, I finally spent the money on a nice pair that will last and not hurt my feet, and are incredibly adorable.

I love how it's getting easier to find Lolita style clothing in mainstream stores and brands in the US.

I know what you mean but I have a feeling it might be a new trend soon, maybe not very big but more and more people are becoming aware. If you look at some of the halloween costumes out this year you'll see that they seem very loli.

One the one hand I don't want it to be a fad, I used to be such a fan of the hippie look and skirts I found at street fairs (now dubbed boho skirts) until I was forced to walk past about a million boho-heads a day. I hate when such interesting ideas become so generic.

On the other hand I think it might be good because lolita stuff would be easier to buy and since more stores will sell them they might be even cheaper. I don't think it would be that bad if it became popular either because all trends eventually die but if you really love lolita you'll always have it near and dear to your heart. So essentially you gain more by it becoming popular (It becomes popular, you buy lots of stuff cheap and easy, it dies down, you're unique once again now with an even bigger wardrobe).

Anyway I won't shoot you for shopping at Hot Topic XD I mean c'mon, that's just dumb. I shop there to, when I can afford and feel like it--though I perfer doing it online because people who work and hang around there like to stare at me Oo they sense that I don't belong from my unmake-uped face, my undyed, untampered with hair, my raggedy jeans, and cutesy tops gonk Oh and the fact that I'm loud, childish, and often times nauseatingly cute XD

I do think that the fashion will become more popular, but that doesn't mean that we can no longer wear what we like. In fact, it may prompt me to wear more elaborate and extreme styles just to show that I'm not in it merely for the "fad."
I doubt that people who buy just one lolita-ish outfit will be wearing it with the same confidence that someone who knows the roots of the style will. I, however, wouldn't mind seeing more people carrying parasols or wearing cute hats.

I love the comics at Hot Topic, but I'm sure they eye me suspiciously, too. Minimal make-up, if at all, and bright colours at that. I wish they carried more dolls and toys.

I like their Apple dolls, their so pretty!!! Buying one of them for 26 bucks was my first step towards getting a dollfie. Mum was like "If you can take care of this one, I'll think about helping you buy a super dollfie" I was like O_O. REALLY?! My mum never does stuff like that. I don't think she think I can take care of it. lol.

ha lol i'm posting 3 years after the first few. i would say that lolita this year is definatley more popular. at least the casual style. now there are many lolita-ish blouses all over and many are wearing them. i just got the cutests one from kohl's. so definatley casual loli shirts are popular now i guess.
