I am having a serious problum at home.
Both of my parents are belivers in the Christan god and when I became a witch I expected problums from my dad but now my mother is bothering me about it. How can I make them understand that Wicca isn't as bad as they think it is and that this is really what I belive?? Please help..

A few questions first:

Do you honestly believe in the doctrines and ideals associated with your religion, or is it just something you do because you enjoy it?

Are your parents concerned about your beliefs because they hold that all religions except Christianity are of Satan? Or are they simply afraid that Wicca is an inherently dangerous religion, and others might be alright?

Why are your parents Christians? How do they justify their faith?

yes i do truly belive in our doctrines and ideals. I think they consider it satanic and a little dangerous. I'm not sure why they are christians. I think it is simply because they were raised that way. Nither of them goes to church or really even reads the bible.

Oh, really? If their religion is just a byproduct of their culture, you might use the "If this were 1st-century Wales, you'd be Pagan, too" argument.

Also, ask them to prove their religion correct, and your religion wrong. If they have evidential reasons for being a Christian, post their arguments here--I'd like to have a look at them.

If they're Christians because they "just have faith", then point out that since their belief is not supported by anything but their will to believe, your faith is just as valid as theirs.

You may meet the occasional "If you live under my roof, you'll believe in my god" ultimatum. This is when you remind them that you have no control over what you do or don't believe. "Mom, Dad, I'm not a Wiccan because I think it's cool, I'm a Wiccan because Wicca is what appears to be most truthful/make the most sense."

If it's a non-issue, or if it is simply ignored or not called to attention by your parents, then you don't really have much to worry about, do you?

If you're concerned with setting things straight with your parents simply for the sake of doing so, I don't see why you can't just announce your intention to calmly discuss your religion with them.
If that's too awkward, you could simply go on practicing Wicca openly in front of them. I imagine it wouldn't take one of them long to say something about it then.

(You might want to step outside when you perform any Wiccan rituals or rites that interest you, as a courtesy to avoid offending your Christian householders. Actually, I'd appreciate it if you could outline the sort of practices your religion entails here.)

if they try to pull the old, "pagan's are devil worshipers" ruitine, try this. just say "im sorry i dont dont know who that is, in my religion there is no one called satan." or just state that since satan is part of christianity then tecnhicly all satan worshipers are all christian. i dont know how your parents will take this so its up to you to decide whether or not to use it. good luck
