The sun was climbing higher in the sky when a young Q'ntor stepped out of the mouth of a forest cave. His fur was sleek and shiny, his pelt a shade of gray and a shade of a sort of bluegray with spots. The males mane was still small, as was normal for younglings. He gave a huff as he turned and looked inside the cave.
A female naga with ice colored skin and brown scales stood there with her arms crossed, looking at the young Q'ntor. "Go out and make some aquaintances at least Surlor. You'll need to if you wish to become powerful someday."
Surlor grumbled and started walking away. Where was he supposed to go to find other Q'ntor? Who knows, he;d figured he'd just keep on walking until he ran into something, or someone, interesting enough to hold his attention for a while.

Some ways into the forest, passed the thick wall of trees and across a moldy trunk above trinklets of water, rested another Q'ntor. She was wide away as she had been since morning's dawn. Though her way of resting was to do nothing at all in her days but to lounge and groom. And grooming she did, taking deep pride in her vibrant coat of gold and blue. But small eyes were always on the alert, scouting her terrain every few moments. As precious as her fur was, it often drew in unwanted attention because of its bright colors. Lulai often found herself prey to a hunt, and thus learned to be cautious at all times.

(Sorry for the wait)
As Surlor walked around he surveyed the scenery, noting the vibrant and healthy green foliage and the brown earth and trunks of the trees, the vivid and bright colors of different flowers. The youngling didn't care much for these things as he proved when he flattened his ears at a pink flower he was coming up on, baring his white teeth and snapping his jaws around the thing as he passed, ripping it away from the bush it grew on and spitting it out onto the ground before him and stepping on it. Didn't taste all that great, he didn't see why his prey liked them so much.
Eventually he walked long enough to see something besides the green and brown of the plants and trees and the pinks and purples of the flowers. It was gold and blue and black, standing out just enough. As Surlor drew closer he could see that it was another Q'ntor, a youngling like him, and a female. Surlor had never interacted with his own kind before, let alone a female, and yet despite his handicap he boldly walked towards the grooming female. He didn't really know what to say though, he thought he'd just wait for her to say something.

There, her grooming session was complete. And the result was wonderful, if she did say so herself. A shiny coat was much more marvelous than a matted excuse of fur. Iulai raised a brow as her vainful pride was interrupted though as a small frog leapt before her paws. It was a river frog, tiny as a pebble and greener than grass. "Little midget." The cub flicked the frog with her short claw, smirking as she watched him hop off with a croak.
Then ears pinned. Something was walking along the bushes behind her. It wasn't wind, obviously, and it was too noisy to be another frog. Iulai's masked face turned to investigate, and she blinked in surprise. Another Q'ntor? How interesting. She smirked while lifting her chin. "Aww, and who is this?"

Surlor's brow furrowed at the tone of her voice. What was that? It sounded...well, he didn't quite know what it sounded like, it wasn't a tone he'd ever heard or received before, certainly not from Madhavi anyways. Seconds later his expression changed to that of one who thought they were higher than rest, looking at Iulai with a raised eyebrow. "Excuse me?" He asked in a tone that pretty much gave away his egotistical 'I'm better than you'll ever be' nature. "Who wants to know?"

Iulai just twitched her muzzle in slight amusement to the other's first reaction. He seemed like a fish without lips, choking in surprise. But that soon changed as he stiffened up, looking more like an older cub than before. Amazing what small adjustments to stance can do to body language. She wondered how she appeared now then. "Heh, you heard me right. So don't make me repeat myself." She stood and padded over to the other slowly, keeping a cautious distance. "Unless you're deaf. Are you deaf? Otherwise you'd know who, being the question came from my own mouth."

( Oh, forgot that was the one that would change when he grew. He's still a youngling. -goes to change back- )
The male gave a snort at Iulai as she approached with that tone. "Surlor, if you must know." He replied finally, but not liking it. "And I'm not deaf, I have perfect hearing. Now, who are you?" Surlor said in a demanding tone. He wasn't sure he liked the way this femme was talking to him, like she was the better of the two. She was sadly mistaken.

(gah! Soooo sorry for the delay. Internet was slow then guild wouldn't join me) x__x
"Surlor? And what kind of name is that? Sounds like a vain attempt of sounding royal." The female chuckled to herself, amused by her own jesting. She swayed her tail lazily as she stood, raising a brow to this stranger of the same species. How delightful to meet another. "Iulai, if you must demand it." The girl sniffed the air softly, wondering just where this other appeared from. Would there be more to see?

(( That's ok. ^^ ))
Vain attempt at sounding royal? A low growl rumbled in the depths of his larynx at what he took as an insult. "I had no choice in my name, don't dare insult my guardian in such a manner." Even though it wasn't 'love' he and Madhavi felt for each other Surlor did have the utmost respect for the naga. After all she did take him in and is raising him in her cave of her own will, and he found that honorable. Naturally he would do his best to defend the one that cared for him.
The young male still didn't know how he felt about this female, he hated to admit that she was pretty but her attitude just got on his nerves in a way similar to when Madhavi did sometimes when she told him to do things he didn't want to do. Surlor noticed her sniffing the air and did the same, it was difficult to tell where she'd come from and he didn't know what other Q'ntor smelled like. "Where are you from?"

"Oh, no insult at all. Just an opinion. But it is funny to see your fur bristle at your jumble of letters." The youth giggled to herself bafore making a half curve around the other. He was definately the same creature as herself. It was just too interesting to finally meet another, and a boy no less. Well there goes any chance of girly chattering, and she only assumed males liked challenging interactions.
"Hm? I came from under some fallen logs, not too far away." It was a nice mossy home, if anything. And she had these whole woods as a backyard for exploring.

Jumble of letters, pah. Your own isn't that great. The darker male thought to himself, his ears laying flat and straight out in annoyance at her pacing. "Can't you sit still? Are all you girls this antsy?" Surlor asked, clearly not used to social interactions, and with females no less. If he had anything better to do he would have left then and there, but since the future of his day seemed rather uneventful he might as well stay here. Plus there was something about this female that made him want to stay...
"You live under fallen logs?" The youngling repeated, rather unimpressed and with slightly raised brows as he looked at the blue, black and yellow female.

Paws gave a halt to that, and lulai stood close to the other, nearly breaking his personal space. "All girls? Have you met more of us then?" She was curious, no doubt, but she tossed her hair from her eyes as she stepped away. "Well let me assure you, none of them are like me! How boring would that be?" Her tail twitched though as she sneaked glances around the forest. So there were more of their kind, somewhere out there..
Ears pinned and lulai hunched her shoulders, back fur bristling. "Got a problem with that? Then leave, go back to your home of riches." She gave a confident nod with a crooked smile at the other. They came, they seen, they left. No big chapter to her life. If anything, it just broadened her perspective of the world around her. How she'd react to that though, she was undecided.

Brows lowered at her reaction to him mentioning that there were more girls out there in a 'what, you didn't know?' fashion. Well...it was either more girls or more Q'ntors, he wasn't sure. "I haven't met anyone besides you, but Madhavi has told me she's seen many in her days."
Her reaction to his 'you live under fallen logs' statement surprised him. His brows raised in surprise. "Riches? I wish. I live in a cave." In his opinion it was the best cave you could find, with a nice rock floor smooth from wear and a flat rock that served as a table for Madhavi. He even had a pallet Madhavi put together for him made out of animal skins.
