So I play just fine when I'm sitting down but recetnly when I've been doing more singing while playing sitting down hinders my singing and when I try to play standing up it gets much harder and my guitar gets harder to handle. So I was wondering if anybody had any tips on how I could play better standing up?

Lol that's like opposite from me. I play acoustic better standing up and electric better when sitting down.

I actually like to practice standing up with a reflective surface in front of me...mirror, TV screen, what have you. I look at my reflection instead of the neck, and if you want to stop looking altogether, practice with your eyes closed.

I find that adjusting your strap solved my problems. I find that since I'm short, I like my guitar closer to my chest and not by my waist, it also helps me sing a bit better too. Also, just instead of practicing sitting, stand up. It does help.

Try NOT TO LOCK YOUR KNEES, keep them relaxed, because if you trip or fall forward, than your legs will split in 2 and blood will be everywhere!

one tip I had to learn the hard way-
DON'T BE CHEAP AND USE A GUITAR HERO STRAP ON A REAL GUITAR. My SG is in recovery.

Make sure to have the strap at a length that you feel in control of and lots of playing

My friend used it for 2 shows and has never had a problem with it xD

It's quite a transition, especially when playing an acoustic guitar. The only advice I can give you is practice playing standing up a lot, and I'm sure it'll become second nature.
