I am currently pregnant with my second and have been out on bed rest both times. With my first, I was put on bed rest at 29 weeks and delivered at 36 weeks. With my current pregnancy, I've been on bed rest since 23 weeks and the goal my doctor gave me was 32-33 weeks.

I'm struggling with the fun little cabin fever depression that comes with being restricted to my bed or the sofa and my husband is enforcing my bed rest this time around. He even arranged to work from home so he could keep an eye on me and be near if I needed him. I even had to send my two year old daughter away for the summer so I could rest.

Anyone else struggling through their pregnancy this way? Were you on bed rest in the past? What did you do to keep from going crazy?

I was on bedrest after I had my son but only for as long as I saw fit (c-section) doc said if I was feeling good enough I could move around. The only other time I was on bed rest was when I was in the hospital for my other surgeries and man was that hell. When I got home from those I couldnt move for about 2 weeks really, only to and from the bed in the morning and at night.

I wish you luck, bed rest is only ordered if you need it so stick with it! Its better for you both in the end. Make the best of it, watch tons of movies, make the hubby do all the house work (if hes willing lol) and just relax, sleep alot, etc. Take the time to just lazy around for a while, youve had one child already, you know how much you will miss it once the baby is born lol.

Just a quick update on my pregnancy: I'm now 34 and a half weeks along, still on bed rest. This weekend, I was sent to the hospital for severe and persistent headaches. I was given a pain killer that made me dizzy and loopy, but I can honestly say I wouldn't mind being on that again because I slept great the rest of the day. I'm confined to the indoors and they never actually figured out why I'm having headaches, but the baby is happy and healthy. My cervix is softening, but I haven't started dilating or effacing yet. My husband is still expecting anything any day now. He constantly asks me "Are you okay?" like I'm a bomb that will go off at any moment and he gets annoyed with me when I say "Nothing's wrong" or "I'm fine" just because I don't feel like complaining about the same things over and over again.

Here's hoping I make it to 36 weeks, but I'll take anything at this point.

Holy crap! I'll be full term on Thursday! Where did the time go? ( stare If you ask my husband, it went to my complaining about being pregnant)

Seriously though, my doctor asked me last week if I was enjoying the time I still had alone with my daughter and I flat out said "No". She replied with "Well, once the baby comes, it will never be just the two of you anymore." I fully understand this thought process, but at the same time, I can't do anything with her. I mean, we watch movies together and colour and read books, but she's a 2-yr-old social butterfly. She doesn't want to be stuck at home on the couch with Mommy. She wants to play with kids her age and have a schedule! But I don't have a job because of the complications, I can't be outside for long periods of time, I can't go for walks around the mall, and I know we get on each other's nerves at least once every day. So honestly? No, we're not enjoying our time together and it's very discouraging.
