Perhaps this is just me, because I have problems, but here we go:

So, last week, I had a Bowie Moment when I walked into a bagelry to purchase a bagel (because really, what else is there to purchase in a bagelry?). I was waiting patiently in line, listening to whatever they were playing on the stereo system, when, just as I approached the counter, "Rebel Rebel" came on. I recognized the song immediately, of course, and my order came out like this:
"Yes, hello, I'll have a sesame---omigod, it's David Bowie! Bahahahaha---bagel, with cream cheese."
It was really very strange...I've never unconsciously uttered a fangirlish squeal of joy, until that point.
But anyways, me and the cashier sang along while I waited for my order.

Has something similar ever happened to you, Bowieists?

Hmm. I'm sure at least once. :[ Perhaps sans fangirlish squeal of joy. Although for the most part similar moments happen when I find out some new band I'm listening to also enjoys David Bowie. Even though he's such an influential artist, I'm still always pleasantly surprised.

Yeah, that's always strange, when a band lists David Bowie as one of their influences (although I suppose he SHOULD be listed on everyone's list, simply because he's David Bowie). I'm always happy to see or hear that.

One thing I've been noticing (but maybe it's just me) is that David Bowie just randomly pops up in my everyday life. For instance, the bagel incident. Also, my friend was reading a science book about life on other planets, aptly titled "Lonely Planet" and she looked up from reading to inform me that the author had just quoted some lyrics from "Starman".
And it's been happening to me almost EVERY DAY for like...three months now.
Not to complain, or anything. It makes me happy inside and out.

I've never had a Bowie moment. ): However, I have chatted with a user who claims to be David Bowie himself; No, not you, Thin. heart
He's under the screen name David Robert Jones, if I'm not mistaken.

On an unrelated note, I have been on the same airplane as Jackie Chan while flying to Hong Kong.

Ha, I'll have to check that out. I can't see how one could if it was or wasn't him, I mean...Gaia is very anonymous in that respect. You don't know who exactly the person behind the avatar is (although most GD users now seem to all look the same D smile .

Ah, I was walking in Soho, and suddenly, coming up the sidewalk, there was John Waters! And, without thinking, I yelled: "Holy s**t! It's John Waters!"
He thought it was pretty hilarious, and I was suitably embarassed.

Hmm, yes. A relative of mine recently ran up to me and waved one of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy books threateningly at my person on account of a short Bowie... Cameo(?) within. He does seem to pop up in a lot of places.

So, is this John Waters, John Waters, John Waters, or John Waters?

In respons to Crimson, I would not beleive this fellow if I were you. He's clearly trying to set himself up as a celebrity to gain attention. I know the type. ninja Speaking as the genuine article, of course.

I've had many! : D

However one in particular was a bit out of place. : P

Some friends and I were partying for 48 hours across the other side of town. After the party my friend Maddy drove me and my other friend Billie back to the suburbs. In the car ride everybody was super tired and talking about anything we could think of.

I began to talk about death. You know, just random things. Like how we'll return to the stage of not existing, like before we were born.

Then China Girl came on the radio and I interrupted my speech with "OHMYGODIT'SDAVIDBOWIEOHMYGOD" and broke the serious mood in the car. XD

Ahhh, yeah. I was watching that delightful HBO show, "Flight of The Conchords", and they have an entire (absolutely wonderful) episode in which David Bowie appears to one of the main characters, giving him advice such as "wear an eyepatch" and then, it ends with a song rife with Bowie references, aptly titled "Bowie".

It's this John Waters, hahaha. Pretty easy to recognize him, yes?

Ah, yes, I wouldn't believe anyone on any website if they claimed to be a celebrity. And especially if they claimed to be David Bowie.
I'm sure it must be hard, having all those silly people claiming to be you, Mr. Thin. Life must be tough for a superstar like you, heheh.

Yeah, that's pretty much what happened to me.
I wonder, is this a phenomena that only ocurrs within female David Bowie fans?
