Lughnasadh half dozed in the summer sunshine, alone for a bit, his daughter Sunniva asleep and with her mother. A soft breath of wind woke him and he opened deep emerald eyes to gaze around, bemused.

Ash had walked down to the river to cool off in the invigorating waters. She stood in the shade of a tree with the sunlight breaking through the leaves in a beautiful green glow. She didn't see anyone nearby so she started to hum a song to herself. Quietly at first but it soon grew into a song. She splashed about happily not thinking anyone could see her, the usually very reserved female.

Lughnasadh pricked up his ears at the sound of another Star singing. Curious and now fully awake, he tossed his head and followed the soft singing until he came to the river. Splashing in the river was Ash, a lovely grullo Star with purple eyes, singing in the soft voice he'd been following by ear. He stood stock still and closed his eyes to listen to the rest of the song, enjoying it immensely. He didn't often encounter Stars singing.

Ash was facing away from Lughnasadh and continued to sing.
"Dreaming of someone as gentle as the dew, Graceful as a someone can be... Dreaming and waking, and finding that someone..."
Then she spun around as if dancing only to stop stunned to see Lughnasadh had been listening to her with his eyes closed. She became incredibly embarrassed and crossed to the other side of the river hoping to get away before his eyes opened.

Lughnasadh opened his eyes as he heard hoofbeats and a bit of splashing. Startled, he saw Ash on the other side of the river. Convinced that his presence might be causing her unease, he stood still and watched her, keeping his emerald eyes on her fuschia eyes as long as he could.

*its not very polite to stare Lughnasadh." She said from the safety of the opposite bank. "How long have you been watching me." She said sounding a bit embarrassed. "You should have announced your presences. I do not sing for others." She said lowering her head.

"Sorry, Ash," Lughnasadh said sheepishly. "I haven't been here very long. You do sing quite well, you know." He smiled gently. "Mind if I join you on the other side of the river?"

Ash was rather shy, she really hadn't expected anyone let alone him to like her voice and she blushed deeply. Of course her dark fur hide the blush, but it couldn't hide her flustered voice. " thank you, I guess you can." she said meekly barely getting the words out. She lowered her head shyly, "I haven't seen you in a while."

Lughnasadh crossed the river easily, enjoying the cool water against his skin. "Sorry, I've been kind of busy exploring recently, finding out who else is in the area, thinking about maybe eventually settling down somewhere." He shook his head. "In general, I've been rather unsettled. How have you been?"

"I've been doing well. I have also been exploring, well just the woods at the edge of this field" She said gesturing her nose towards the woods at the far side of the clearing. "I have enjoyed the solitude, just me and the trees."
She shook out her mane to dry it. "But you can't stay in the forest forever, the greens are better in the field and the river is deeper as it gets closer to the sea. I guess it's kinda silly for me to spend so much time in the woods." Ash tilted her head to the side as if thinking. "So where have you explored?"

"Mostly the hills west of here. I'm thinking of starting a herd someday, and I should find a place for my herd to live. They look nice, but I want to make sure we wouldn't be intruding on anyone." He smiled at her. "It's not silly to stay in the woods forever. They're actually quite pretty this time of year."

"I think they are pretty all year, each season makes the trees sing a new song." Then she realized what he had said. "You are going to start a herd!, That is a lot of responsibility to take on, but that is very admirable of you I must say. to lead and protect." She made a small bow to him. "I'm sure you will be a wonderful leader and the hills are the perfect place to start I would think."

Istalindir slowly, carelessly picked his way through the forest. It had been quite a while since he'd fallen, but the passage of time had done little to ease the ache in his heart as he thought of the herd he'd left behind. What sin had he committed, to have been thrown from his place in the heavens? Whatever it was, he was here to repent for.
But that didn't stop him from missing his mate something fierce. His missed her laugh and her plum colored gaze.
So caught up in his musing, he didn't notice the tree line fade to open land, nor the other Star Born as he slowly picked his way past them, lion-like tail tailing behind him like an unbroken, undefeated banner.

"I know it's a lot of responsibility, but I think I can do it. I'm also looking for others who would be willing to join the herd, as well. My daughter, Sunniva, is willing to help me." He paused, sensing someone else nearby and turned his head, startled to see an Arcturus. He bowed his head in respect and wished Sunniva could be here. She would so dearly love to see another Arcturus, for the only Arcturus she'd seen in her life was her mother, Vienna. "You are welcome, Sir Stranger," he said as politely as possible. "I am Lughnasadh."

As Lughnasadh had been talking, Ash eyes noticed the white Arcturus immediately as he came out of the forest. She had never run across him in the forest before. "Sunniva is a very lovely girl, It warms my heart that you are so proud of her." Ash looked again to the stranger who was approaching them, seeming not even noticing where he was going. As he got closer and she could see is face so full of sorrow it pulled at her heart stings. "Good day Sir." She said softly bowing to him.
