Battlefield Selection!
As the referee stepped onto the podium to randomize the field used in this battle, the audiance became quiet. The arrow, spinning fast at first, eventually slowed down and chose the...
Electric Field!
The field is completely flat; no bumps or hills can be located. Standing at the four corners and at the exact center of the field on each side are six electrical towers that stand at six feet in height. These create a static discharge across the field and in the air itself for one reason: a metal piping that outlines the edges of the field floats several feet above the towers themselves, held up by the discharge. During the battle, the piping can release lightning at random points on the field due to the amount of buildup them possess. This ensures that your pokemon stay moving during throughout the entire battle.

Piney had never battled in this electrified field before, and especially not with her Skitty. Ordinarily, she would've been glad at the change, but with her opponent being a ground type, she was a bit afraid that she would have the advantage here.
"Let's do our best Tomfoolery!" She flung his Pokeball into the air, and it released the pink Pokemon onto the center platform.

"Ooh, the electric field, how lovely." Said Lenne as she walked onto the field, sporting her tote-bag and headphones. She reached down into the one pocket of her bag to reveal a gorgeous looking Luxury Ball from her bag. She then tossed the ball up into the air with a spin, revealing her Cubone, onto the arena. "Come on Clementine, let's battle!"
Looking up, at the trainer across from her, Lenne waved. "Hello there, my name is Lenne, and this is my cubone Clementine. This is only our second battle, but we still hope to win, right Clemmy?"
Clementine nodded and with that, the match begun.

"Oh, hi! I'm Piney, and this is Tomfoolery." The said person replied, indicating the Skitty that was already out on the battlefield. "It's nice to meet you. I've been in a couple battles already but let's make this one the best!"
Seeing that she and Tomfoolery were to make the first move, she wasted no time. "Ok, start out with a Doubleslap!"
Tomfoolery nodded and leaped into the air, tail glowing. He dodged the static that the stadium was emitting and lunged at Clementine, tail first.

The electricity of the field was not affecting Clementine at all, so she merely had to watch out for her opponent. The skitty came flying at Clementine hitting her a few times with it's tail, but it was nothing that Clementine couldn't handle.
"Awh, I love Skitties!" Lenne gave a cute smile, then commanded Clementine to battle.
After speaking to the other opponent Lenne turned on her music so she could concentrate, setting down her bag as well. "Alright Clemmy, let's start this off with a Leer attack!"
Hearing her trainer's voice Clementine's eyes slowly started to glow red, focusing in on the Skitty.

Tomfoolery, landing on the same surface his enemy was on after the attack, was startled by her Leer. He stepped back and mewled in surprised.
Piney laughed nerviously at Lenne's remark. She didn't really seem to take this battle too seriously, which wasn't that bad...
"Shake it off and give her a Growl!"
The Skitty focused back onto the battle and stared at the Cubone. Waggling his tail, he growled cutely, trying to make her more reluctant to attack.
Oh, he didn't like Piney for this.

"Grrr... Lowering attack huh?" Lenne didn't like that she basically wasted a move.
Clementine was a startled by the growl coming from the small cat. Clementine in return prepared for attack.
"Alright Clemmy, let's use Brick Break!"
Clementine rushed over to the cat and attacked.

Tomfoolery tried to sidestep away from the Brick Break, but wasn't fast enough. The attack struck him on the shoulder, and he yowled in pain.
Piney was already plotting his next move, but he wouldn't like it. Better embarassed than defeated though.
"Tomfoolery, Sing!"
It wasn't her fault that all of Skitty's good moves were suited for girls.
Flinching at Piney's new command, he hesitated at first and pondered going for another assult. But that would just leave him open for another Brick Break.
Hissing under his breath, Tomfoolery opened his mouth and attempted to summon a somewhat soothing lullaby.

The singing started to spread throughout the field, reaching for Clementine. Thankfully her skull hid her ears enough to where the song had no effect on her.
"Yeah! Go Clemmyyyyy!" Lenne was excited that Clementine hadn't fallen asleep. If she had, who knows what would have happened. "Clementine, let's attack with Focus Punch!"
Clementine ran forward, her fist clenched and holding out strong, aiming to make contact with Tomfoolery.

Tomfoolery wasn't surprised that his singing didn't work, since it sucked horribly. He cut off mid-note to try and dodge the punch but was hit again, this time in the nose.
Piney sighed, reminding herself that she needed him to work on that more. For now, this was more important though.
"Ok, let's try another Sing!" She ignored the frustration he was probably feeling right now, hoping for a break from these super-effective attacks.
Wondering if she was crazy, Tomfoolery backed away from Clementine and started to sing again.

"Agh?! Singing Againnn?"
Clementine wouldn't be able to withstand much more of this. Slowly, the singing reached her, filtering through the skull on her head, and causing her to become drowsy. Finally, she fell asleep, unprepared for whatever would happen next.
"Agh! Wake up Clemmy! Uh... now what to do... Uhm! Oh, I know! Clemmy, use Sleep Talk!"
Hopefully Clementine would manage to attack, even in her state of sleep. It seemed like Clementine was reacting towards the command, but who knew it if would work.

Tomfoolery wasn't expecting the Cubone to attack him even in her sleep. Being taken by surprise, he wasn't able to do any to dodge or block.
Well at least she wasn't using anymore Brick breaks or Focus punches. Piney hoped that he can pull through despite the damage and win.
"Now, Ice Beam!"
He hadn't perfected this attack yet, but it would still be super-effective. From his mouth, Tomfoolery launched a thin stream of freezing ice.

((One thing, Sleep Talk randomly uses one of the pokemon's moves, so technically so far I've used Focus Punch, Brick break, and Leer. Does that mean it'd use Focus Punch or Brick Break? Because if so it'd be super-effective, but I'm not sure. o.o))

However, because she was asleep, she had no way of predicting the moves that were coming to attack her. So she was struck with the ice beam.
"Agh! Ice. Not a good thing... Clementine, let's try Sleep Talk again!"

Tomfoolery still couldn't figure out how the heck Clementine was able to attack while sleeping. He couldn't dodge what he couldn't predict, and was struck again.
The Skitty's dangerously low health worried Piney, but regardless, she believed in him to still win this fight. They just needed a critical hit.
"Another Ice beam! Aim for the head!"
Gathering some more of the ice in his mouth, he directed it towards her skull in hopes of inflicting more damage.
