I've been waiting for YEARS for 2 to come out, and with the release day coming closer and closer, I began to wonder. Will this game live up to the first, will it be better? how will the storyline change!?
from what I've seen of trailers, it looks a LOT more like Final Fantasy than the last one, which seems pretty cool...but Sora looks..I dunno, too OLD. yeah...
so anyhow, any opinions out there?

I definitely think it will be. For one thing, they're making a lot of changes to the battle system. Some people critcized the original game because the system and the controls were too simple, but I don't think that's going to be a problem in KH2. I mean, they're adding the Transformation Drive, mission specific boss fights, the reaction commands, customizable Keyblades, Gummi ship missions...Not to mention the graphics look a lot crisper, and it's supposedly more than twice as long as the original. So, as far as gameplay goes, I'm sure it'll live up to its high expectations...
Lol, yes, I agree, Sora does look a lot older in KH2, but I think the change in his appearance is a good one. He looks wiser and a lot more mature, and that's something one would come to expect after witnessing the ordeal he's been through. I personally don't think the game will suffer because of the change in Sora's appearance and his attire. I'm perfectly okay with the change as long as they don't alter his personality too much...
Oh, but one thing that I think will kill the game, is if Riku remains evil, or at least remains loyal to Sora's opponents. That would just destroy it for me... gonk

While nicer graphics and controls are all well and good, I just hope that the storyline is good. From the trailers, we don't really get to see much of the plot, just random bits and pieces. the worse possible thing for me would be if the game turned out to be one of those games/movies where the trailer was better.

I've been waiting for a while too, 03-ish.
Personally I think KHII will be a lot better, I mean with the whole XIII Order idea and the new worlds.........it's all looking good. The graphics are great, Sora's new looks are terrific, it looks so much better than the first.
Well the storyline will change because now there's the XIII Order to deal with instead of just the normal heartless.
@Torrina-Hmm I don't mind if Riku turns out evil again, but I guess since you like him you'd feel that way. But I think he's sort of neutral.
@Camasotz-Oh my gosh I agree, but I don't think KHII will be like those type of games.

I heard people say the camera system was bad and should be changed... whereas I thought it was fine. I mean, it did get weird sometimes, but I thought it was so cool you could rotate a full 360 degrees around yourself, which you can't do in a lot of games. (or maybe they do.. I dunno, maybe I play too much Mario. xD)
I just hope they don't change something for the worse, you know? If it ain't broke don't fix it. However, if they do manage to make it better (which I'm 95% sure they will) it'll be well worth it. I think Sora still looks nummy, older or not. Perhaps even more so. whee

One place that I really want to revisit in KH2 is Traverse Town. Excluding Destiny Islands, it was my favorite world in the original, and it would depress me if it wasn't included in the second.
I know it's heavily rumored that Twilight Town will replace Traverse Town as the 'base world' in KH2, but...would it be too much to ask to just head back there on a side trip? :/

Anyways. xD I've been waiting for KH2 for 3 years now. It's getting really tiresome to wait..
I went to EB games yesterday and they told me it was pushed back to April next year. x.x;;

Lol, yeah, hopefully that's what the delay is for. Or it could be because of an issue with the voice actors or something. (Pirates of the Caribbean cast, maybe? *looks hopeful*) There are a bunch of different ways to rationalize it. I just hope that Square makes the delay worth it when the game is actually released...
