She awoke to blank whiteness, eyes wide with fear and breath hitched. Apparently, the dream she had had previously caused her to break out into a cold sweat. Now, the pale gray hospital pinafore she wore with a little tag attached to it was dripping wet. Blinking a few times to help her eyes focus, she sat up and gazed around the white padded cell, clenching and un-clenching her fists on the white fabric of the blanket.

Experimentally, she cleared her throat and forced herself to speak. Nothing came out. She felt at her neck, where a cold, metal spiked collar coiled itself around loosely. Desperately, she tried to wrench it off, but to no avail. She knocked the spikes, receiving a bloodied hand in return. Strangely, she felt no pain, and stared at the red blood seeping into the mattress from her wound.

She got out of bed, only to find that her ankles were chained to the bedpost by a long silver metal chain. She struggled to take them off; the coldness burned her skin, but like the spiked collar, they wouldn't budge. She growled in frustration and kicked at the padded walls indignantly. Someone, or something in a large black laboratory coat slid open the door to her cell and announced:

"Female Test Subject 00846, you are to be presented to the Creators." It advanced towards her menacingly and unclasped the chains from the bed, dragging her along into the outside underground world.

"LET ME OUT OF HERE YOU STUPID DIRTY PERSON!!" Evangeline hollered. Her voice echoed down the hall. Her hands ached from all the banging against the metal bars.

"WILL YA SHUT UP WOMAN?" came the reply.

A man opened the cell and walked into it, closing the door behind him. Evangeline glared at him which earned her a hard slap on her cheek.

"Whatcha looking at? Never seen a man before?"
"CAN YOU JUST LET ME OUT OF HERE?!?"

A smirk plastered on his face. "No can do lovely. What would my master say?" He bended down and looked at Evangeline in the face. Evangeline spat at him.

The smirk faded away and he frowned. "That won't do. You've been a naughty girl" he said.

Wham.
Evangeline felt something hit her and she collapsed onto the floor.
"There, take her away" was all Evangeline heard before she lost her consciousness.

"Nnngh--!!" She was dragged out on the floor by the hungry-looking scientist, and the spiked collar on her neck struck hot sparks on the uneven ground. Hissing and spitting, she reached up with a bloodied hand and clawed at the man, expecting good results.

Instead, the man-like thing turned around and smiled a twisted smile. Her hand hit iron, and she recoiled in fear. This thing was no man. It was...IRON MAN! (Sorry, got carried away xD) She coughed a little and swallowed as the scientist grasped her by her collar and swung her over his back, trudging his way slowly towards a white tunnel in the distance.

His (assuming that was his gender) heavy footsteps echoed throughout corridor, and he slammed open another door, revealing another young girl who lay unconscious on a white bed similar to hers. On the scientist's back, she held his shoulders for balance and peered down at the other female suspiciously. She gurgled in her throat, a smile etched on her lips. This girl looked strangely familiar, yet she could not place her identity.

"...S-Sh...I...What..." She could speak, if her parched throat would allow her. "Where are...we?" The scientist did not answer, merely shrugging a shoulder and lifting the other female onto his back.

"Mmhmm" she mumbled as she felt herself being carried. She struggled to open her eyes but failed.

She felt as if there were chains that bounded her limbs and body.

"Shush, 00846," The scientist halted before the tunnel opening and shifted the two girls' weight comfortably on his back. "No more talking now; noise echoes off the tunnel walls and brings Shape Shifters down on us. That, or I'll feed you to the starved demon hounds."

She squirmed uneasily as she sat with her legs around his steely neck, and grasped his equally iron-clad ears with both hands and ducked down so as to enter the tunnel. The walls were white, but the ceiling and bottom were both a shiny metallic black. Red shadows flitted to and fro, but did not venture any closer to the trio. They passed many doors to cells, and finally the scientist kicked one open, walked in, and shut it behind him.

"So, experiment 00846," he grinned from ear to ear. "This is where the two of you shall stay. The other test-subject will wake once she recovers." And with that, he left the vast white room, and locked the door. She stared for a long time at the sleeping girl next to her, and then felt at her own neck for the spiked collar. It was there, ice cold and foreboding.

"What am I?" she questioned to the white walls, but the walls whispered no answer.
