NAME OF LOCATION - Dunari System
NAME: Dunari I - Controlled by the Cestian Alliance Total Population: 17,980 Border Status: CLOSED - Subject to Inspection for Admission
Class II Permit Colonies: 1/2 Population Per: 15,000/50,000 Orbital Structures: 4/4 Tactical Structures - 8/8
DESCRIPTION - Barren of all planetary celestial bodies. Only one star, and a single M-Class Planet orbiting in the inner body of the solar system, with a surrounding asteroid belt. The asteroid belt is full of dust, gas, and other rocky debris in a concentration unlike anything seen before. It's main density is a large, well defined belt around the far reaches of the solar system.
LOCATION - Sector D-12
PEOPLE - Dunari I is inhabited by colonists of the Cestian Alliance.
CLIMATE - The climate of the planet is warm in the day, and cool during the nights, much like a temperate Earth. Due to the magnetic energy in the system coming from the asteroid belt, it is easy to see a colorful display on the horizon of the planet's atmosphere as the waves bathe the planet. This phenomenon is usually referred to as "Auroras" on Earth.
RESOURCES - Sparse traces of magnetic metal, Gallicite, and tachyon particles are embedded throughout the asteroid belt. However, only the Gallicite serves as a valuable commodity as Tachyon particles have no practical use in interstellar industry. Gallicite can be used to refit the warp coils of a starship, and is often used in junction with Verterium Cortenide to accomplish this.
ANY OTHER ASTRONOMICAL DATA ABOUT THE SYSTEM Due to there being no moon orbiting Dunari I, the asteroids act like mirrors. They are seen as shapes and shards of light in the night sky and reflect the star's rays much like the moon does on Earth, which makes them appear to shine with a bright brilliancy that strikes the heart of even a seasoned starship Captain.

Captains Log: Star Date: 61980
After a lengthy voyage. My crew and I are eager to find this, "SS Potomac". We have already made the necessary arrangements, for our arrival. And have powered down the warp core, of the Unity. And its impulse engines.
We are currently on route to the location of the distress beacon, at red alert, With thrusters. So far we've, been hailing the Potomac. We've yet to hear a reply.

((I didn't know this Thread was here...))
As the Unity approached, their sensors would continually pick up just a Nova Class Starship, a SS Potomac, unregistered, adrift on the outskirts of the Star System along the border of the Parsons Nebula. Everything would appear to be fine aboard the ship from a sensors standpoint. They would detect no Warp Core, such as the Commander's said about ejecting it. They would detect nothing else out-of-the-ordinary or anything in-of-the-ordinary. Sensors would just reveal them adrift in a Subspace Distortion Field of an unknown origin.
However, everything would soon change. As the USS Unity neared the location, they would pass through the border between unaffected Space and into the Subspace Distortion Field, cutting itself off almost essentially from the "outside world". After a minute or two, they would have the SS Potomac on visual. Sensors would continue to show that the ship was just a hundred kilometers in front of them, but, on visual, there appeared to be no ship. Instead, at the heart of the Distortion Field, floated a single probe. It was slightly larger than most probes, but a probe nonetheless. Once the USS Unity came close enough for narrow band communications, a transmission would go from an unknown locations to the probe, and then, from the probe to the USS Unity. It was a simple message.
"Hello, Captain. It's good to see you."
As those words were spoken, two Runabouts decloaked from the invisible spectrum and floated down close to the nose of the USS Unity. They moved in quickly and within close proximity to one another. The Subspace Distortion Field altered slightly, but, remained fully intact.

((Thats cause I made this thread. It clearly states to create a thread, when there is none.)) "Helm... Cut thrusters, and hail them, on all channels". Frederick opened all channels. Then the captain continued. Quote: This is the USS Unity, representing the United Federation of Planets. We've come on an urgent distress call, from the SS Potomac. Do you have a reason for being here, unidentified craft?

((I meant this to be open space, but, alas, this will work even better...))
"You mean Commander Grant of the SS Potomac? You know, his name should have been McClellan, if you understand."
That was all the voice would say. The two Runabouts would remain where they were. They were only a few hundred feet from one another. About the size of half a Nova Class, or, about the size of a Galaxy Class Warp Nacelle. That made things seem a little cramped here. Hopefully, the Captain of the USS Unity wasn't claustrophobic.
"Be calm, Captain. We have no quarrel with you. Do not worry. If you'll check Starfleet's records, there will be no record of there ever being a SS Potomac, or, a recent Commander Grant."
The two Runabouts' shields were up by now. The weapon systems weren't locked or trained on any target, but, they were ready.
"Captain. I have no interest in your ship, your crew, or you. I am interested in something that you can do for me. If my memory serves well, the Federation, no matter how well they cover it up, do not bond well with the Romulans. By helping me, you deter the Romulans. By refusing to help us, you assist the Romulans in their tyranny on Beta Cestus III."
The visual channel would still be clear. There was no entity on the viewscreen. Just the empty expanse in front of the USS Unity, save for the two Runabouts and the lone probe. The Dunari System was too far away to be seen on visual. However, to port of the USS Unity, loomed the huge vast area that is called the "Parsons Nebula".
"So, would you be inclined to do us a favor?"...

The captain, surprisingly smiling now, rubbed his chin and said, "Well, I could attack you and get a head start, but then... This would damage my ship. And shes already got a new coat of paint. So to speak".
The captain let out a sigh as the bridge crew listened closely. "I have no intention of helping the Romulans. They have betrayed the federation, countless times. But, what are you offering"?

A pause and then a soft chuckle would come over the transmission.
"Captain, I assure you. These two Runabouts have enough combined firepower to make a Miranda Class worried. Not to mention, we have the battle experience of twice any Federation ship in the quadrant."
The voice on the other end seemed to now be thinking. About what, was an entirely different question. The Subspace Distortion Field was holding steady at its "normal" levels. No sign of increase or decreased could be detected. No hazardous readings or actions were coming from it and it showed no sign of destabilizing or doing exactly the opposite. It was as if it was being controlled.
"What would be offered in return? Oh my, Captain. I didn't know the Federation needed payment for its assistance with its Allies."
The voice almost sounded genuinely astonished at the words of the other Captain. Regardless, after it had spoken, it thought. If one listened close enough, it seemed to turn away from whatever was broadcasting his voice to converse with others behind him or in another room. After a few moments, it turned back and spoke again.
"Wouldn't you much rather hear what we want before we start jumping to rewards? What I want is easily acquired by you; much longer for me. With your help, we would allow you to see some of your anger at the Romulans quenched in the form of vengeance, in the future."

Marcus sat back again, arms on the sides of his chair. "Well now... I think we can come to some sort of agreement". The bridge crew of the Unity sat in their seats stunned. Now, staring at their captain. "capt..." "Quiet Raymura"! The captain sat forward, putting his hands together in a pleasant position. "Oh, secondly, I never asked for a substance reward... Bringing the Romulans down a notch, and establishing communications, with the rebels, will suffice".
At that, the identity, of the speaker, was found out. "Trust me... I know whom you are. When you mentioned Beta Cetus III, I was reminded of my mission report, in coming to this quadrant. It mentioned a substantial "rebel force", was in the system. And that they had trouble with the Romulans".

There was a snicker as visual contact flashed on the screen. Two panels, to be precise, one on each half. One left, and one right. Both men looked the same. Actually, everyone on the ships looked the same. Everyone, no matter their race or gender, was garbed in almost completely brown clothing. Heavy weaponry, by civilian standards, were on them all. At least, every member of the Runabouts' crew had a Phaser Pistol and a Compression Rifle. Others had some sort of grenade type objects, while others had some different types of tools, such as Tricorders and hydrospanners.
"Communications are already established, Captain. This probe is our "microphone", to the outside world. All someone needs to do, is come close to this probe and hail it. Of course, they won't get a response, but, we'll know if they are just curious, or just want to talk, or, want to do "business". The Subspace Distortion Field is more than enough to scare "curious cats" away. If that doesn't, my large friend here will." With that, he pointed to the Runabout's starboard at the Parsons Nebula.
"The Federation is due soon for Diplomatic relations with the Romulans concerning Beta Cestus III. But, that doesn't mean we can't... ... acquire new items, just in case something "falls through" with the talks."
The man's face and body were completely covered. Only his palms, eyes, and the very bits of skin around them were visible.

The captain looked up at the screen and squinted a little. "Well, I would be obliged to help, but then. If the talks don't, "come through". We'll need a little more then just a Nova class star ship to fend off the Romulans.... though, if they do attack a diplomatic ship, and its representative, we'll have enough "reason", to "defend" ourselves". the captain got up and said, "If you accompany us during the voyage and talks, In cloak. you'll be able to slip by their defenses, right into their territory, and back again.... There is the small problem of their sensor grid... If you help me take it out. there should be no problem getting into their area, and they would send a few ships to investigate, their disabled sensor arrays".
The bridge crew of the Unity were all in a state of disbelief. Except for the Vulcan pilot, and the Klingon security chief. Whom, was smiling right now.

"Captain."
The word was strained at the thought of slipping by the Romulan defenses. The man on the right was addressing the man on the left. After he had gotten the other man's attention, he turned back to the Captain of the USS Unity.
"If we were to accompany in cloak, that wouldn't do much. Their defensive systems, everything from escorting ships to Starbases, would be scanning for cloaked ships. They are well aware of our cloaking abilities. When we are discovered, they would immediately cancel the talks and claim that we are trying to infiltrate their space and attack, as a declaration of war."
"Not to mention, that the Federation has not told us when, where, or how the diplomatic meetings will occur," said the man on the left.
That was all the man on the right said now. He went back to listening in on the conversation between the Captain of the USS Unity and the man on the left.
"As my friend here has said, I believe that what we need today, will suffice for the time being."

The captain remained silent, then returned to his seat. "Then your meeting was in vain. The diplomat, as stated, has not been given a set date. on which to come to the Beta Quadrant. I don't even know when he'll be coming".

"Not quite."
The man on the left said instantly and with an air of cool. His hand reached off screen as he gripped something. He didn't even bother to look at it before he took the object. He put it in front of him, below the viewscreen could see, and began to look through something on it or through the object itself. After a few moments, he looked up at the Federation Captain. Underneath his clothes, a smile appeared quickly and harshly, though, the others wouldn't know it.
"We have, acquired... ... a considerable sum of credits in the past time. We have a desire... to spend it. We would get it ourselves, but that could compromise our position. Would you be able to help us?"

" You called us "Allies" before.... Now, why would I turn down the offer of an ally"? The captain smiled in the shadow of his face, not revealing the tiniest of a small smirk. All the while, his Klingon chief was enjoying, and relishing, this moment. All together.

"It's a large order."
The man on the left looked down, once again, at the object he was holding. Lifting it up, it then appeared on the viewscreen in the hands of the man. It was a Data PADD. He clicked a few more buttons. What he was doing, no one besides him and the person that handed him the object knew. Perhaps others knew, but, no one seemed to say anything or do anything that would suggest it. After he seemed satisfied, he looked back up at the Federation Captain again.
"To acquire the items, we will need passage to Deep Space 12. Do you have room in your shuttlebay for two Runabouts?"
The other man said nothing as he watched the conversation between the two Captains.
