I would say a great site when you're stuck is "Ushi no Tane x6" (Touch My Cow Seed x 6 - i lol'd at the name). It gives you exact times on when you see specific heart events for you or your rivals, the sheep glitch (infinite wool that only works in HMDS and not cute), the billion g glitch (hiring fishing team in winter gets you a billion g, unavailable in cute), exact information on how to receive every sprite and an accurate list of what every villager (and when you connect to Mineral Town, the town girls) like to get them to 255 FP and how to win that girl/boy you're chasing after. It also has random event lists (check them out - they're cool), and is a great site.
