Over the past month or so, I have been woefully absent. This is due in part to a number of personal obligations that I have to other people that I may not see again for a long, long time. It is due also in part to the fact that I have many hours of school, even though the year is up. In order to graduate early, I am taking a full credit in daytime summer school, and another full credit in night school.

Most of this is linked to the exchange program I will participate in come the end of July, though. I'll be leaving the country for Norway for the space of approximately eleven months, and will be pretty much cut off from all contact with the people I've befriended and, yes, come to love, over my years in this town. I may hate Texas, but I cannot hate all of her people.

So this is a goodbye, of sorts. Not completely, for I will forever be the ghost popping up at random times. And, if all goes well for the next year, the guild will remain active when I return early next July. I'll have internet access in Norway, it is true, but I need to isolate myself from the English language until I learn Norwegian.

I'll still be around until 30 July, when I leave. My suitcase is already looking at me balefully, and the edge of a sweater is poking out from where I, lazy person that I am, neglected to zip it closed. I have no need for winter clothes in Texas, so I keep them in there. My reason in mentioning this is, yes, I will be around. But I have a lot to do.

I have a lot to say goodbye to.

Including you.

Don't let anyone take my place with the fonts, all right? The small, green, right-aligned text is mine I tell you!

Aww.. I'll miss your word-choice, discussions, internet persona, actual knowledge of decent not entirely mainstream crap anime / Music, and small, green font.

Have fun in Norway! I'd say I'd be able to help you with language barriers, but only if they speak French or German. Have a safe / Fun trip! heart

My... word choice? Do I have that distinct a manner of writing? And speaking, I suppose, since I pretty much write as I speak... I mean, I know from my classes that my sentence structure can be a bit on the odd side, and I know that I use many more 'rhetorical devices' than my teachers ever expect, but that's usually used in jest, a touch of sarcasm if you will. I take every possible opportunity to poke fun at various historical figures and events.

But thanks you guys. It's nice to hear that not everyone is convinced I'm utterly mad, as the case is with all of my friends.

And the money exchange people, too. They gave me really funny looks when I went to go exchange some dollars for kroner today (I need cash on hand to pay for my residency permit), and asked how my English got so good. Apparently, they thought I was a Norwegian citizen who was going back. I don't know where they got that impression, but there you have it. When I explained that I was going on exchange for a year, they thought I was joking.

I think the world needs automated machines to convert currency. People can be aggravating.

I wish I could go. Good Luck. Try some Norwegian pancakes...they're awesome.
