"Oh dear, oh dear, oh dearrrr...!" Moaned the gray mare, pacing slowly back and forth, cheeks darkening with color at her realization of the cause for her recent discomfort; "Oh no, oh no, oh nooo!" Had she hands and arms she would have been clutched herself in her distress, right now, she was hopelessly close to tears. THis wasn't happening, it couldn't be happening! One night couldn't....couldn't? It was just one night...what a night! But just a single night all the same. What would she tell her mother? 'Oh yes, mother, I did get knocked up by a stallion who I'd known for about two hours. Oh, I hardly remember his name, but since he was a creature I'd longingly dreamed about and hadn't ever actually thought I'd see, that makes all of this alright! No, I don't think I'll ever see him again, and for some reason I think he won't really care, but hey! You have grand children! Isn't that nice?' She moaned allowed and began pacing again, her long tail twitching in obvious distress.
As usual, the speckled brown stallion was gliding easily over the tree tops, fully enjoying the breeze in his mane and feathers. He felt completely at home in this enviroment, enjoying nothing more than soaring along just a few feet above the branches of evergreens. The next best thing was perching himself at the base of one of these giant trees. They were the proudest of plants, he thought. There was so much he found in common between him and the giant old conifers. Though he prefered to be in the sky, he certainly didn't mind resting in their shade. In fact, that seemed like a perfectly good idea for that moment. After all, he'd been airborn for several hours already, the muscles around his back and in his wings were starting to feel the strain. So, with his keen eagle like eyes, Silver picked out a small meadow tucked into the forest that looked safe and empty. It seemed like an ideal place to rest for a short while. He pointed himself towards the center, prepared for the landing. It all happened fast and easy, as usual. What was unusual was that his golden eyes had missed something very important: he was not alone in the meadow. For a moment, the stallion stood still, wings folded tightly on his back, staring at the fretting mare.
Her ears had heard him long before he'd ever deigned to arrive in the meadow, but she'd dismissed the sounds as a bird, or some other winged creature; she'd never actually seen a wind, only heard about them from her mother, but they were like Kalona's in her mind, imaginary and far away, no matter how odd she, as a unicorn, was just as much. So when her grey ears flicked toward the odd sounds and her soft jade eyes followed suit, she couldn't help but stare at the wing creature landing in the meadow. The silence stretched for a long moment and the tears she had been choking back began to fall and she hiccuped. "Ah! Oh! I-I'm s-sorry," She rasped out, rubbing her cheeks against a forelegs, feeling utterly embarrassed and ashamed of someone seeing her in her current state, "I-I d-didn't mean to intrude," She took a single step back, nearly tripping on her tail, "I-I'll ju-just be going, I ap-ap-ologize." She hiccuped over her words, which only served to fluster her more, only making the situation even worse.
Silver watched, intrigued, as the mare tried to back up and lost all composure. It was rare for him to come in contact with anything but woodland creatures these days. He hardly saw his two-legger anymore, and with all his flying around he didn't bump in to many of the grounded. There was so much sky up there, he hardly saw another wind past by, even. He was pleased to see something that wasn't small and climbed trees, especially pleased to see a unicorn, as he hadn't seen one up close in such a long time. Though he half wished to simply watch her a little while longer, his gentlemenly mask mode was kicking in. She was, quite clearly, distressed. "You've nothing to be sorry for, Miss." He took an easy step forward, flicking his small tuft of a tail. In an effort to seem less threatening, he tightened his wings to his back even more, and lowered his head some. "I'm the one who is intruding. Please, stay. I apologize for flying in on your little meadow." He had honestly flown over this meadow many times before and never seen her here, but that wasn't anything he was about to dwell on. She clearly needed comforting right now. "Why don't you just take a breath for a second, hm?" He took one more step towards her, and then stopped, waiting.
"Oh, b-but..." She swallowed thickly, tears brimming and clouding her vision, she rubbed her face against her foreleg once more, "I-it's not mine," she squeaked out, shaking her head, "It's n-not m-m-mine." Another thick swallow, she would -not- burst into tears and act like a spoiled child who had been denied a toy for the first time, "I-I-I'm t-terribly s-sorry, I-I--I'm not usually so h-horribly c-composed, I j-just..." She made a small whining sound, "Oh, th-this is just h-ho-horrible, p-please, I'll just g-go and leave you. I-I'm sure you don't need s-some foolish e-easily-s-seduced h-hormonal ma-are ruin-ing your day." She was only digging herself deeper and deeper into this hole. She needed to leave and she needed to leave -now-. Stupid hormones and their over-reaction to everything! Just one more notch to add into her misery-belt. Oh, how this male must think she was a fool! An idiotic fool! She must be ruining his mood at least. She lifted another hindleg to shift another step backward, it'd be best if she left.
The brindled stallion matched her shifting leg with his own, taking an even smaller step forward. He smiled softly at the mare, tilting his head to the side like an inquisitive bird. "It's yours for now, isn't it? You were the first one here." He allowed a slight chuckle. "Really, Miss, don't leave here because I came along. If anyone should be taking off it's me." He nodded his head for extra emphasis, though he now had absolutely no intention of leaving. He was curious about this girl, about why she was here in the middle of a forest all alone, about why she was crying. He also would prefer if she stayed here for a little while, since she was in fact all alone and seemed to be in no shape to wander around a forest. Of course, he wouldn't keep her here, but he was certainly going to try to keep her from leaving. "Don't worry, Miss. We can't always be perfect. Let it all out." He kept the smile, took another step closer. "I'm sure your company is just fine, even if you are a hormonal mare." He chuckled at that one, not being able to keep back a light joke. Beneath the gentlemenly shell, Silv was a sarcastic jokester who enjoyed nothing more than a bit of playful insulting. He usually didn't say much unless he knew the other well enough, but he figured he couldn't hurt the situation any more than it already was now by saying something. "Why don't you just calm down, take a breath. Just take a breath." He breathed deeply and loudly as an example.

Her gray ears plastered themselves to the back of her head, and her head swung side to side slowly, "B-but...but I only j-just came here to-to figure th-things out. Y-you came here as-as if you've b-been here often." She swallowed again, feeling the jagged edges of distress and despair smoothing, allowing her a thin shred of lucidity. She took a shuddering breath, eyes still wide and staring, darting back and forth between him and the surrounding forest. Was...was he getting closer? Or was it her imagination? She couldn't be sure anymore. She couldn't trust herself anymore, what had happened before proved that. Annoyance flickered at "hormonal mare" for the oddest reason, it was just hormones, she was sure of it, and that annoyed her even more. Being even more annoyed at becoming annoyed because of hormones. Everything was so screwed up, utterly ruined as her life had been upturned. She...she was going to become something she hadn't planned on for years at least! Maybe never! Oh gods, this was too conviluated! "P-pardon me for being 'h-hormonal" she rumbled, attempting a pleasant tone, "I...I'm going through a v-very bad t-time." She swallowed, forcing down either a hiccup or a growl, she wasn't sure which. Her hind-hoof planted itself behind her as she shifted her weight backwards, granting her another step away from him and the meadow.
He gave up moving towards her, finding every step to be in vain. As soon as he took a step forward, she took a step back, and so he was making no progress. Instead, he planted his two front hooves firmly beneath him, side by side and almost perfectly perpendicular to his body. He flicked his tuft of a tail again and relaxed his tightened wings some. "I've flown over this meadow plenty of times, yes." It would be rude to lie to her, even though he was trying to convince her she could stay here. "It's hardly mine, though, and I certainly don't mind company while I rest up my wings." He nodded his head to the left, stretching that wing out slightly, then pulling it back again. He couldn't help but chuckle again as she mentioned going through a 'very bad time'. That was certainly obvious. She was stuttering up a storm and her cheeks were ruffled up with tear stained fur. "Well, Miss, if this were you going through a good time, I wouldn't want to see you in a bad spot." He smirked playfully at her, trying to lighten the mood without getting too buddy-buddy. After all, he still didn't know her, and he hadn't a clue how she handled jokes. He hadn't a clue how she handled anything, really, besides something bad. Now that he thought about it, though, for all he knew, she was simply moody and cried and stuttered like this all the time. If that were the case, he didn't want to stick around much longer. The fact that she was so bent out of shape kept him there. He felt obligated to stay there until she at least left the meadow. Even if they were strangers. She was in no shape to be alone, and who knew, he might be able to help her out. He hesitated a second, but then dove into his next sentence confidently. "I'm sure it isn't as bad as you think. Every cloud has a silver lining." He liked that cliche, since he spent a lot of time in the clouds and his name was Silver.
Jade-colored eyes followed his every movement before flickering back to his face and then shied away, embarrassment flooding to the surface, as well as the blood to her cheeks, "Y-you...I understand this s-situation isn't so bad...it...it's just..." She swallowed, her lion-like tail flicking in a testiment to her nervousness, "I...I mean...my situation became rather complicated very quickly, and I wasn't prepared at all, and now my life is completely upturned and I'm all alone in this and I've never been alone before and it's especially bad for this time of situation--I mean, for me to be alone--because usually you're mated by now and you're actually -trying- and all and--" She stopped, realized that with the speed she had be speaking he probably hadn't understood her at all, "I..I'm just trying to come to terms with all this....I'm sure I'm just boring you with this story anyway...so..." She sealed her lips, wishing nothing more at this moment, than to not have the ability to speak.
Silver tried to follow the words as the flew from her mouth. He managed to get a good three quarters of what she had said, and simply guessed the things he missed with context clues. It didn't take him very long at all to figure out the mare's dilemma. He was relatively sharp, as he so proudly thought, but it wouldn't have taken an einstein soquili to guess what was going on in this poor unicorn's life. Of course, Silv didn't see a major problem in her 'dilemma.' From what he could understand, she was with foal. He had always thought that made mares happy. After all, they seemed to always be simply bubbling with excitement awaiting the birth of their little ones. Surely he'd be proud and stand a little taller, fluff his feathers a little bigger if he knew he had a little one or two on the way. Then again, she said she was alone. Perhaps it was sad to not share the joy of birth with another? Or perhaps it was just difficult to raise foals. Silver didn't really have any experience in the child rearing department, but he had never thought it would be overly difficult. "No, no, you aren't boring me." He shook his snout quickly and snorted. "I'm very interested, actually. Tell me, Miss, if you are so alone, how did this wonderful thing come about?" He cocked a brow. After all, it did take two to tango. "Have you talked to this... friend of yours?" Surely she could work this little problem out by going to see the new father, right?
She jumped a bit a intuitive questions, ducking her head in shame and embarrassment, at least she hadn't had to go outright and say it, that would've been embarrassing enough to die,"Well....as it usually comes about? Only I was foolish and easily manipulated into it, though, well, I was perfectly willing at the time." She spat out a mirthless chuckle, "It's that simple." She flinched and shook her head, "No..." She practically whispered, "I haven't seen him since....well, then. Not once, I have a horrendous feeling I'll never see him again." She swallowed a whimper with difficulty, "It...would serve me right though, yes? For allowing this all to happen just because of a childish love of the creature itself, not who was inside. Oh.." She squeezed her eyes shut, willing this all away, "I wish I could go back and warn myself, but that isn't possible, now I have to..." With a mental gasp she jerked her head up, jade eyes filled with a mess of emotions, "I apologize, you probably didn't want to hear a fool, speak about her problems."
He regretted asking so playfully now, seeing that it was a far more serious matter than he had first thought it to be. "Don't be so hard on yourself, kid." His voice was softer than it was before, more friendly. He was slowly loosing his gentlemen mask. It wasn't that he faked his manners, it was just that he was far more polite when he was in a new situation with a stranger. Now, however, he was letting it slip away, going from 'miss' to 'kid' without really realizing it. This was a more serious situation, one that required him to be compltely himself in order to help comfort her, if he could at all. He sighed lightly, looked around them, and then quickly and with less grace than he had landed plopped his large body onto the ground with a thump. It took him a moment to settle in, tuck his legs under comfortabley and get his wings to where the feathers were safe from harm. When he finished wiggling around, he looked up at the grey mare with an inviting look in his eye and flicked his snout towards the ground around him. "Why don't you come down here, hm? We're certainly safe here, and the grass is awfully comfy." After his little bit about getting comfortable, he went back to the matter at hand. "Listen, even if you don't see the stallion again, it isn't all bad. You say you didn't know him, right? So for all you know, he's a jerk and you're all the better off without him." He wasn't entirely sure if saying soemthing like that would help her any, but it would certainly have helped him if he were in a situation like this. Then again, he'd never ever be in a situation like this, so he wasn't even sure if it would comfort him. "And don't be silly. If I asked about it, I wanted to hear it. Now tell me, do you have any family you can stay with?"

She jumped a bit in surprise as he plopped himself down onto the ground with a large 'thump' and stared at him for a long moment, ears twitching back and forth, indecisive. "I....I would but..." the blood rushed to her face once more, "It...it might be damaging to..." she shifted uneasily, not wanting to have to say any more about it. Her ears flattened, not wanting to entertain the notion she could have been seduced by an unpleasant stallion but...well, if she was to be truly honest with herself, it was the most likely scenario, "That is probably the case," she sighed, saddening as it sank in, "I don't want to believe it, but..." Another sigh, "Oh, yes," she gave the barest trace of a nod, "I have family, even un-related family who would both accept me and them without judgement. It is just..." She shifted her weight on her hooves once more, "It is just...-I- would feel that I was pressing a burden upon them, a needless burden that could have been prevent, had I some self-control. It is not that I would feel ashamed of them, it is just...the hassle to my family? It is what keeps me from going to them." She gave a helpless shrug, her expression remorseful.
"It won't cause any harm, kid. Just take a seat gentley." He smiled and nodded his encouragement. He dropped the topic of the father of the foal quickly, simply letting it slide away. It was obviously a bad one to pursue. He simply fell silent and listened to her go on about burdening family. Silv didn't have any close family he could go to if he needed something. He understood, though. Whenever he had problems, he tried not to hunt down his two-legger, who was like his family. He didn't want to put unneeded stress on her. Of course, he had never been pregnant. (Not that he could get pregnant, but still.) "You might want to consider going to see them, y'know. Just a suggestion." He shrugged his wings and looked away. "Even if you don't stay with one of them for help, it might be good to let them know. Just... in case." He didn't say what the in case was for, but he figured she knew enough to get it. It was good to have a back up plan for kids, after all. Even a young and healthy soquili needed a back up plan when their were little helpless lives on the possible line. If this mare were ever unable to care for her future babies, what would become of them? "So, kid, what's your name?" He tried to ease of the touchy subject of her pregnancy, since he was guessing that was the only way to cheer her up.
Gray ears flicked backward in displeasure at his term for her and she gave the winged stallion a strained smile, "Pardon, but 'kid' is a bit...inappropriate for this situation, is it not? I do not think a child could have this sort of problem." With an uncertain expression, she took a few tiny steps forward toward him, (though still remaining a respectful distance away) and settled herself down onto the ground, though very, very careful in her motions. "My name is Nayeli, though I would greatly prefer if you would call me some abbreviation of the sort. My name's meaning is rather....well, it's nothing something you would say lightly." She allowed a nervous chuckle, "It's complicated, but I'm beginning to notice everything is these days. What is your name?" attempting to change the subject in some manner. She paused, thinking over the probablities over what may happen, should she go and tell her mother about what was going to occur...-that- would be an experience.
Silv was pleased she settled in, though slightly taken aback that she was offended by the pet name 'kid.' He called everyone kid. Or at least, when he was in his more relaxed state, he did. When he was uncomfortable or in a new situation, he defaulted to Miss and Sir. Kid was reserved for when he felt at ease. He'd never had anyone take offense to it, though. "Sorry, ki - ah. Really, it's just habit. I apoligize." He nodded his head to her sincerely. "An abbreviation... How's Yeli? Nay seems too... I don't know. Yeli just has more spunk to it, don't you think?" He smirked. She seemed like the kind of mare who might have some spunk when she wasn't so down on herself like she was now. She might even be a bit fun. "I'm Silverwings, but you really can call me anything you please." He studied her a moment, noticing just now that she had lost her stutter. That must be a good sign. He'd feel much better if she left the meadow with a clear head and in a calm state than if she left in the same mess that she had arrived in. The forest wasn't... dangerous, but it was easy to get lost if you didn't keep your head. "So, are you planning on staying in the forest much longer? Or just passing through?"
She offered a wane smile, "I wasn't terribly offended by it, I have just never been called that, not even by my own mother, so it was a surprise. And, well, this situation is rather...ill-fitting to be called something such as that." She pasued, flustering at the realization she had probably made a great blunder, "I...I apologize. I was being needlessly picky." She chuckled softly, "Yeli is fine, if you would want to. I must admit I've been called a spectrum of names, in my opinion, the most amusing of which was 'Nay-Nay'." the memories of those days made another smile stug at her lips, they seemed so far away now... "Hmm?" She blinked at him for a moment, catching back up to the conversation, "Ah, I hadn't, or haven't really, made any plans about what I am going to do next. I was just looking for someplace to be alone and sort everything out. I hadn't really believed this had happened to me until just a little while ago. Denial was a very good friend to me. " A soft sound escaped her, something between a chuckle and a sigh. "Silverwings..." She rolled the name over her tongue, embedding it into her memory so she wouldn't ever forget. Her gaze flicked to his massive wings, noting details, "I'm afraid you are...not so silver." Her gaze flicked back to his face and she felt herself smile again, "Not that there isn't anything wrong with your name, of course, or your color. I didn't mean anything of that sort." She felt herself flush again. She had bumbled her way into saying another stupid thing. Well, this day was chalk-full of embarrassments, wasn't it?
"No need to apologize, Yeli." He smirked at her. This whole encounter had been saturated in apologies. It was getting a little out of hand in his opinion. "No need to apologize for anything else today, got it? You've done enough for one day." This mare definitely needed to relax a bit. She was too stressed out, and much too tense. "I'm not so sure Nay-Nay fits you. It seems a bit too... kiddish to me." He winked playfully, using the word kiddish on purpose, of course. He moved into a more serious mood quickly, though. "The forest is a great place to relax and think. It's a good place to do anything, really. I love it here. That's why I chose it as my home." He looked around them at the giant trees, so regal and proud looking. They had earned their right to stand so tall, having been here for so long. Much longer than Silv had even been alive, much longer than his parents had been alive. The forest was ancient, it seemed, and so full of life. He felt at home only here, it seemed. "Denial isn't healthy, though. It's good that you've come out of it. This is really nothing to deny, Yeli. I'm sure everything is going to work itself out." He chuckled lightly, trying to keep the mood cheerful. "The tips of my feathers are silver. Have a look." He pulled his left wing out slowly, wiggling it a little. "Okay, not every feather has the tip, but some of them do. But you are right. I'm more of a 'Brownwing', aren't I?" His personality and pride, however, were much closer to silver than brown.

"You say that now, but what should I say if I accidentally step on your hoof?" She snorted, and looked at him with an arched brow, feeling more herself for the briefest of moments. "Well, if I must admit, 'Nay-Nay' was only from my childhood, and Baldev, but he's the type where childish nicknames are the norm," She admitted, shrugging her shoulders as best she could. "I don't think I have ever been in this part of the forest before; near my home there is quite a variety of terrain to explore, so I have never strayed very far from it until now," She glanced around, jade eyes taking in the landscape for the first time, actually. "It is rather beautiful," she complimented a bit awkwardly, having nothing much else to say about it. "Ahhh, but denial is a very nice friend, though," She smiled faintly, "But I understand what you mean; it'll be okay in the end," She grimaced, "But I'm afraid the course to that end will be mostly unpleasant." "Oh?" She glanceed down at his wings once more, "So they are! Fascinating." Jade eyes focused back on his face, "But 'Brownwings' isn't nearly as flatterings as Silverwings, so it would probably be in your best interest to remain Silverwings; of course if you would prefer something else..."
"No need to apologize for that, either. I'd just step on yours and we'd be even." His tone was incredibley serious, and for a moment he was able to hold a non-playful look in his eyes. It didn't last, though, and so he broke it with another wink. "Now the only thing you'd really need to be sorry about was if you did anything to these babies." He wiggled his wings, showing off his pride and joy. Reaching his snout out to his left, he kissed a feather and quickly turned back to Nayeli, grinning wildly. "You might just see my ugly side if you did anything to them." He let the idea of harmed feathers pass, though. It wasn't a pleasant one, even if he was just joking about it. After all, he most certainly didn't want any bent feathers. What would he do if that happened? So instead, he turned his thoughts on happier things. "Yes, it's very beautiful. And it has so much to offer." He paused, a dreamy look coming about his eyes. It, too, passed quickly. Brownwings. Pleh. He didn't like that name one bit. "No, Silverwings takes the cake. Only really handsome winds can get named that. You can call me anything, though, besides Brownwings. That I just can't handle." He shuddered exagerratedly, shivering all the way down his back and flicking his small tail.
"The same would go for my tail, I'm afraid," She retorted, though hers was with a smile, "I doubt you'd be able to do much of anything to my horn, in any case, though I might be able to do much to you," She detested fighting for foolish reasons and most reasons were foolish. She chuckled softly and nodded at his apparent affection toward his wings, "I'll be sure to remember the warning, then," Her lion-like tail flicked idly, as if to voice it's presence. "You sound like a proud parent speaking of their child," She commented, a golden brow rising in amusement, "Not that I blame you, some places are just special." "ahh, don't be like that, you make me want to call you that just to tease you," Another chuckle escaped her, but she was only joking, "Oh? Does that mean there are other Silverwings out there?"
