 Taja walked along the forest watching the birds fly over head. How wonderful would it be to be able to fly. she thought as she smiled to herself. Taja stopped and looked around herself making sure that no one was going to spook her.

Cal slumped against the trunk of an old tree breathing deeply. He glanced back at the route he had just ran, closing his eyes to listen to his racing heart. His ears perked up at the sound of hoofbeats. "Helloooooooooo" he called out before trotting towards where he thought he heard the sound.
Skipping over random patches of dirt he paused as a spot of purple began to appear. "Hello" he called out again before running up to the stranger, skidding to a quick halt "Hello" he repeated before giving a playful grin at the mare before him.

Taja looked around and noticed a small foal had greeted her. "Why hello there." she said with a smile. "Who might you be?" she asked as she looked the foal over. He is different.... But he is the cutest foal I'v ever seen! she thought to herself with joy. "I'm Taja." she said with a nod.

"Hello Ta...Ta..ja...Taja" he happily replied "I'm Cal... I have a hard time with my full name" he be blushed in feeling rather sheepish. He then puffed his chest up, "I'm prac... pract...ic...ing" he paused trying to spell out the word in his mind. "I want to run fast" he looked at her with bright eyes. He then looked at her noticing the shades of purple with white marking, and the lighter brown eyes...He tilted his head 'Maybe green...'

"Hello Cal." she said smiling. "Really. That sounds like alot of fun... I run somewhat fast.. Never thought of getting any faster." she said with a grin. "Have you improved in your running?" she asked curiously.

"I think so" he beamed "I don't bump into as many trees now" he laughed "I want to be as fast as my dad." He looked at her "Not faster? How come?" he was interested in why she didn't maybe there was something else she wanted to do..."Do you pr..practice?"

"That's an improvement." she said smiling. "That is a good goal to strive for." she said as she thought for a moment. "I'v never really tried. When I run I run to just feel the wind on my body... But other than that I don't run more than needed." she said with a laugh. "I sometimes wish I was born as a flutter...... They can fly all they want..." she said looking at him. Maybe one day he will understand what I mean exactly she thought.

He beamed at the compliment, puffing his chest out with pride... or at least trying to... "A flut...ter?" he repeated after her "Are they birds?" He puzzled "I like to run" he stopped to think "cause I like to run..." he couldn't figure out why he liked to "...it feels nice when I run." He wondered if she understood him... "When I run fast... I feel like a bird" he paused "...though a slow bird" he laughed at himself.

"Well... They have wings." she said smiling. "And you will get faster when you grow up because you will have longer legs." she said with a nod and a laugh. "I know what you mean." Taja said as she looked at his eyes.

He grinned back, "So kind of like birds" he laughted happily. "I want to meet one" he glanced around before looking back at her "Do they hide in trees like birds?"
He then stretched out a foreleg "I hope so."

Taja smiled and laughed alittle. "Well some do.. but most don't." she said nudging him playfully. "How often do you train?" she asked curiously.

He laughed as he was playfully nudged and attempted the same. "I want to meet them one day" he smiled happily as she asked about his training "I train when I can or I try to" he then thought for a second before adding "I don't when it is raining, hard to see."

Taja smiled as she nipped at his mane playfully. "That is good... Maybe one day I can have you meet a friend of mine. His name is Zaka." she said as she walked alittle. "How long have you been training?" she asked curiously.

He laughed as she nipped at his mane, and shook himself. He quickly lost grip on the ground and fell into a sitting position, which caused him to laugh even more. Getting back up and shaking any dirt that still clinged to him he listened to her.
"Zaka?" he looked at her as he wondered about her friend, "What's he like?" he finally decided to ask wanting to know more. "I have been training for..." he though deeply "... a few weeks I think, after I raced beside my dad" he playfully grinned.

Taja laughed alittle. "Well.. He is rather nice and since his mate well... became his mate he is even nicer." she said with a laugh again. "Did you beat him? Or get close to it?" she asked curiously.
