The year is 2018, the times have changed and the world continues its cycle of endless chaos and degeneracy.

The appearance of supernatural entities, fractured images of the past, broken, tormented souls, has increased dramatically, their activity attracting the attention of numerous powers and groups.

Your story begins in New Boston, a city that was built to accommodate the growing population of Massachusetts state.

Destiny awaits you, frozen in 'Blue-Eyed Jazz', a small club located on Crane Avenue.
Time to finish this song.

Rules:

Okay, I know that everyone in this RP is at least semi-competent and semi-literate, so let's just maintain our usual dignity and poise.

For now a 'NO PC-KILL' edict is in effect.
EVERY character is vital to the storyline at this stage, so nobody is going to be dying. Well, not just yet.

Anyway, usual TOS and the normal rules.

Q & A:

Ghost Bustaz

Is eye orloud 2 jon? blaugh rofl blaugh rofl

NO.

Dog

What the hell is this RP about anyway, Boss?

Okay, the story is essentially based on Condemned 2, a brilliant game for the PS3.
However, that is naught but the inspiration.
This RP will follow the story of the characters that we will be playing, and moving deeper into the reasoning as to why they've appeared.
Remember, this RP is going to change A LOT, so don't plan too far ahead, you might get screwed over.

Li3m

LOL, BOOM!
I KILD AN GOAST!

Yeah, no.
Ghosts can only be killed by a few very select methods.
Certain characters can 'vacuum' the soul, essentially forcing it into the afterlife.
Others will enter into combat with the spirit and have to fight it on it's own terms, this could be VERY interesting, so don't be too surprised.
A normal shotgun slug won't blow a 'goasts' head off, so don't bother.
Now, if you used a special round, that might be more effective.

Inuyasha21237644

I runs in and fights da ghost to death and prevail great champion of ghost.
I am very powerful and used special kick move with my foot claws to kill him.

Oh dear god, no.
Let's be realistic, this is still EARTH.
The RP is set in the future, but characters are ALL still Humans.
All characters MUST be destructible.
There will be no Kabuku's in this RP. ******** you, Ifuuki.

ChickyWiggler101

My character can see goasts and kill dem with hands and can hear pin drop 10 miles away and see so far that he see himself seeing himself and can smell a bear shitting three continents away. Cool, eh?

Okay, I'm letting characters have abilities, or as I call them, 'Unique Traits'. This gives the RP more freedom, since a story where everyone is simply a mortal has its many restrictions.
These abilities must make sense, so no immortality, no invisibility and no flying.
You can have traits such as Heightened Senses, A developed Sixth Sense and possibly some form of Psychokinesis, although I haven't yet decided on that just yet.

Background:

"Ghosts, ******** everywhere."

"Really?"

"Yeah, they've been seen in hotels, hospitals. They've even been seen in ******** public bathrooms.

"Sir, relax."

"Relax? I'm the President, I'M SUPPOSED TO RUN THE GOD-DAMN COUNTRY, NOT RELAX!"

"Sorry, Sir."

"God damn it, get me the FBI and the CIA..."
"...I can't believe it's come to this."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The world has seen a marked increase in Supernatural Phenomenon.
Many people have taken to this, dedicating themselves to this cause and following the Ghosts relentlessly.
Their destinies all entangled, soon they shall collide, and where once they worked for ideals they shall soon work for more.
Let sin wash away Mankind's chivalry and pride, let us be Human, and let us fight for our survival.

"Over the last few nights, the residents of this area in New Boston have begun to complain about loud shrieking and wailing coming from the abandoned Hotel nearby. The hotel in question is rumored to have been here when New Boston was built, making it incredibly old.
However, Police sweeps have indicated that there is no human life within the building, and so the mystery of the Shrieking Sleep-house goes unsolved.

I'm Vanessa Cartwright, and this is NB-News, bringing you the hottest stories in New Boston."

The story fades out to an info-mercial, a drunken ex-detective watches through one half-closed eye, his mind as slow as his speech, his vision as blurred as his past.

"Unsolved, eh?" He drools, passing out on the counter of the bar.
As he falls asleep he dreams about the hotel, about the screaming and the shrieking.
He dreams of redemption.

Meanwhile, a group of travelling Ghost Hunters approach the Jazz Bar, the door opens slowly and one of them grins.

The first notes have been played, you must now continue the tune.

The chase is on.
Don't fall behind.

The bearded man groaned, tilting back his entire body and wobbling dangerously on the stool, his left arm holding a whiskey glass shakily to his lips.
He downed the amber liquid and placed the glass back on the counter, a tiny clank let him know he'd completed that task successfuly. He slumped down on the bar, watching a badly maintained television set flickering on the back wall.
A mediocre looking woman with ridiculously large hair was waving her hands and motioning at a still shot of a hotel, which was apparently haunted.

"Not another..." The beard muttered, twitching as the words sprung from amidst its bristles and hairs.

"What's that, Reznik?" The barkeeper smiled, wiping the inside of a beer mug with a soppy rag of a towel.

"Nothin', just tired o' hearin' all 'dis s**t about som' ********' ghost in som' ********' 'otel." Reznik grunted, his words cut short by his drunken stupor.

"Yeah, well, somebody had better do something." The barkeeper muttered.

"Tear the ******** thing down!" A lad in the corner chirped up from behind his drink.

"Shut 'yer face, kid. You're drinkin' a ********' apple-tini." Reznik snapped, motioning at the kid's bright green beverage.

"Arsehole." The kid whispered under his breath, setting down the drink and moving it aside lightly.

Reznik looked back at the screen, his lazy grey eyes locked on the picture of the hotel.

'This is it. I can feel it.' A voice whispered deep within his mind.

'This is the one we've been looking for.'

Rozalin drained the last of her rum and coke and set the glass back on the salted napkin. She typed one more passage on her laptop before she noticed the bearded man at the bar. He seemed interested in the same piece of real estate she was, but she didn't want to flag her intentions immediately. "I hear something odd is going down in that building." She said to no one in particular.

"'S always somethin' odd goin' down somewhere, lady. This is America, we're a nation of ********' oddities." Reznik snorted drunkenly, turning to face the woman with a s**t-faced grin.

"Y'know, ghosts ain't all that..." He chuckled, turning entirely and standing slowly, his feet tapping the ground, trying to keep him level.

"I reckon tha's what th-" Reznik hiccuped, "that's what the problem is."

"And y'know, rum and coke is such a cliche drink!" He grinned, his eyes shone like glass marbles in the dingy light of the jazz club.

It was a bit quiet outside but in the distance you could hear a roar or perhaps it sounded like a thunder .The Black Custom Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R was going full throttle. The adrenaline was pumping through his veigns. On this long road he could go all out. He didn't have to hold back because other people might get in the way. The traffic that was actually on the road he passed swiftly. Russel narrowed his eyes and spotted the bar. Perfect. He was already getting thirsty.

About 20 meters before the bar he hit the breaks and maintained his balance as he turned the 90 degrees while sliding towards the bar. The smoke and the noise of the burning rubber and brakes could clearly be heard. And just as he anticipated the bike stopped a few inches before the bar. He got off the leather seat of his Kawasaki Ninja, kicked it on its standard and removed his helmet.

"Oh HELL YEAH MAN! WOOOOH!" He shouted with the adrenalin still pumping through his veigns. And with that he entered the bar and took a seat at the bar and told the bartender to give him something strong.

"I just happen to like rum..." Reznik gurgled, motioning to the barkeeper for two more.
As he made this gesture an odd looking, strangely loud fellow entered, his body clad in leather and his hair streaked and died with crimson lines.

"Bloody kids..." Reznik grunted, turning back to face the woman.

"Ghosts are... well, they're not just these boogeymen that everyone makes 'em out to be." Reznik sighed, leaning on her table.

"There's more to 'em, y'know, they got a history and a purpose, just like us lot." He nodded, lost in his own drunken delirium.

"Wha' do you care 'bout ghosts for, hm?" He smiled, locking eyes with the woman, a moment of total clarity swept over him.

'Stop talking.' a voice whisered, deep in his mind.
'Stop it right now, while it's safe.'

The door swung open with a deafening creak, an enigmatic man barged straight into the bar, his dark trench coat billowing behind him. He swept the hair out his face in a smooth motion. His emerging caused a lot of muttering and stares. He didn't belong here, that was for sure and not only that, he was holding up a wooden compass that was gilded with distinct embroidering of the virgin Mary. The gold was slightly dulled through the ages. The man sighed, as though his suspicions were quelled. He pocketed the compass and took a stool at the bar, next to a very rough looking man. The young man stared him up before leaning forwards onto the bar and resting his elbow on it.

"Can I have half a pint of your finest larger and could you top it off with coca cola, please?"

Rolalin merely turned her monitor slightly and gave the man a slight glimpse of what was on her screen. It was littered with research on the ghosts at the hotel from possible previous lives to composition to habits.

"You call that a drink dude?" Russel asked surprised
