A large screen towered over the stadium. A spinner with twelve different battle field locations displayed on the screen, waiting to be choosen. One of the trainers jumps to the control room and presses a big green button to start up the spinner. The screenshots of each battlefield light up as they are passed by the spinner. Finally, the light stops on...
The Grass Field
The breeze from the stadium air conditioners rustled the flat grassland arena, sending small clouds of harmless pollen into the air. The land is completely flat, making manuverability easy to those build to walk on land.

It was a nice change to have an rather easy field. Having elemental fields was taking a toll on Jenette and her pokemon. Stepping quietly to her spot on the trainer's platform she looked to the vulpix at her heels. "You ready for this one?" She said with an encouraging smile down to her prized pokemon. With a cry of approval the vulpix jumped onto the field. "You can do it Venna!" Jenette cried in support.

Ahh, the grass field. Sunnie loved this field most of all - nice and flat with the perfect temperature and breeze, and little to no chance of anybody burning to death or getting thrown into rock pillars. She looked at the Pokeball in her hand. Vitesse.... it's your first battle... try not to cause too much of a fuss... she thought. She released her pokemon onto the field.
Vitesse looked around and quickly spotted the opposing Pokemon. "Wow, what a lame-looking pokemon... You shouldn't be too hard to beat," he said with a snort.
Sunnie looked down at the field and saw Vitesse, nose up in the air and all. "Oh no, I wish he wouldn't show off so much..." she said with a sigh.

Jenette watched the Ponyta curiously. She had only seen a couple and this one was definately interesting with the blue flames. Maybe she'd get one later... but right now she had to focus on the battle. Casting the other trainer a smirk she looked to her Vulpix. "Venna! Give that Ponyta a quick attack! Show him that size doesn't matter!"
Venna glared at the ponyta and growled lightly. "Just wait..." She barked back before getting the command from her trainer. The grass field was a perfect field for running around. In seconds Venna was sprinting towards the horse pokemon, her head lowered. She tried not to run in a straight line but rather in circles around him, she wanted to get this guy the best she could. Suddenly she turned towards him, trying to hit him in the hindquarters.

"Argh!!" Vitesse yelped as Venna made a hard hit on his back legs. He fell to the ground, grimacing in pain. Ugh... never felt anything like that... he thought to himself.
"Ohno, Vito! Get up!!" Sunnie shouted. "Come on, show her what you've got! Tail Whip!"
Vitesse hefted himself up. "I can't believe such an ugly-looking Pokemon as you was able to hit someone as beautiful as me! But don't worry..." he galloped towards Venna, his tail blazing behind him in a beautiful fiery flame, "...I'll make sure you won't be able to stand a chance!" He came within inches of the vulpix, and swung his tail around, ready to singe her and lower her defenses.

"Run V!" Jenette called as she saw the ponyta galloping over.
The Vulpix sat there protestantly, she wasn't about to run from this annoying pokemon! "Gimme your best shot" She snapped as she stood there waiting. The ponyta's tail crashed into her and set her flying back a couple feet, but she landed on her paws.
Jenette made a displeased grunt as she watched her vulpix's action. "MIMIC!" She shouted knowing that Venna wasn't going to just sit around, but at least she could give this ponyta a taste of its own medicine.
A foxish smirk came to her muzzle and she ran towards the opponent. "Six tails are better than one!" She snapped as she raised her tails and went to smack him right where she had just hit him with the quick attack. "Brawn is better than beauty, horse!"

Venna's tails whipped against Vitesse's already injured leg, causing him again to stumble. "Argh.... can't run..!" he said, limping across the field to test his leg. Surely this would make him less able to defend himself. "You ugly pokemon! You'll pay!!"
Vitesse wasn't happy, and Sunnie could see that. "I hope he's not being too mean to that Vulpix..." she said with a sigh. But it wasn't time to worry about feelings yet - she had a battle to win first. "Okay, Vito! Bounce!!"
With a mighty leap, Vitesse bounded high into the air, leaving a cloud of pollen where he stood before. He almost seemed to hover, until he plunged downward in a graceful arc, ready to land right on Venna. "Ah, but the most beautiful attacks are the strongest!" he said as he came crashing towards the ground.

"Dodge it Venna!" Jenette shouted as she leaned forward on the trainer's platform. Her heart was hammering with adrenaline as she watched the ponyta come down, a cloud of pollen surrounding him.
Venna watched as the ponyta bounded off the ground but just as he was coming down she ran to the cloud of pollen he had kicked up from his take off. "How about you say something like that AFTER you land a hit!" She barked with annoyance.
Jenette breathed a sigh of relief when the pollen cleared and Venna seemed unscathed several feet away from the ponyta. Maybe now they can actually land a hit... "Venna! Take Down!" She shouted, gripping the railing.
Venna nodded and turned, once again facing the ponyta and began running. As she drew closer she lept, hoping to hit him a little higher...

WHAM! Vitesse took a hard hit in the ribs from Venna. Luckily, it wasn't quite as bad as what was done to his leg, so he recovered a little quicker. Rather than focus on the pain, however, he was paying more attention to the conversation. "How dare you say that! I MEANT to miss! After all, I couldn't just win too quickly now, could I?" he retorted back at the Vulpix.
Oh boy... he's got that look again on his face... What am I gonna do with him? Sunnie thought. "Let's try it again, Vito! Bounce!"
With another fantastic leap, Vitesse soared into the air and plummeted down with amazing speed, like a Pidgeot with its eye focused on a helpless Magikarp. "Let's see you escape now!" he shouted towards the earth where Venna stood.

Venna was about to come up with some snappy comeback when she was trample on. Her tails got smashed and she still had a lower defense after being hit with his blasted tail. "OW! That HURT!" She snarled as she scrambled out from under him.
Jenette sighed heavily. "V! Don't let him get to you! Confuse Ray! Now!" She snapped, hoping that Venna cold concentrate long enough to make this attack work.
Venna stared at him, "Gladly." She growled. Holding her balance, her eyes glowed black and she opened her mouth. Soon enough a black beam shot at the ponyta.

With a swift leap off to the side, Vitesse dodged the ray with no problem. He landed on all fours and held his position, letting the clouds of pollen dance around his body as his red and blue fire illuminated the scene. "See? Now THAT is how you dodge an attack!"
He's such a pretty pokemon... too bad he's such a snob... "Come on, Vito, cut that out!" Sunnie yelled. "You have plenty of time later to be beautiful! Now, Natural Gift!"
"Well, fine. Silly trainer, interrupting my poses." The Citrus Berry, tied around his neck, began glowing with a strange aura. Vitesse concentrated, and his eyes soon began to glow purple. He turned his head sharply towards Venna, and suddenly a huge wave of invisible psychic force came racing towards her, flattening the grass and blowing away the pollen in it's path. "Dodge this!!"

One of Venna's tails twitched in annoyance. How could ONE Ponyta be SO annoying!? Him and his 'prettiness' to Venna it was more like... 'head-so-far-up-you-can't-breath....ness'. The comments all fell out of her when she saw the way coming. She didn't need yelling to tell her this wasn't good.
The second she started running from the attack Jenette had formulated an idea. "Turn your butt around and mimic that thing!" She could tell that the horse-pokemon was driving Venna insane, it seemed like the hair on the back of the fox-pokemon's neck had been on end since the begining of the battle.
Venna spun around quickly and paused only for a moment to gather the energy. Actually taking some of the force behind the attack flung at her she sent the similar wave back at her annoying attacker. "Eat this!" She snapped as she jumped over what was left of the attack heading her way, causing her no damage.

"Hahahahahaha... what?!" was all Vitesse could say before seeing his own attack being flung back at him. The wave struck him and sent him flying back a few feet, but he couldn't land gracefully this time - he hit the ground on his side with an audible whump.
"See, Vito? Thats what you get for being so cocky!" Sunnie yelled down towards him. "Now use.... hey, wait!"
Vitesse had already lifted himself off of the ground and had begun to use Natural Gift. "I refuse to be showed up by such a lowlife pokemon!" he shouted as his eyes again changed colors. With a fierce turn of his head, he whirled another wave of psychic energy at Venna. "I REFUSE!!"
"Nooo Vito noooo baaad..." Sunnie whined, leaning over the platform in defeat.

"Venna! Move it!" Jenette shouted as she saw the ponyta flare with anger. "Don't fall for his trashtalk!" She growled as she watched the same attack for the third time. "If he wants to use that attack, send it back! Mimic! Again!" Jenette sighed heavily, these were the most stubborn pokemon she had ever seen.
Venna growled and held her ground. Her eyes turned black and again she sucked energy from the attack and around herself and sent it crashed back towards Vitesse. Just as she sent the attack back she saw the wave he sent flying at her. It hit her head on and sent her crashing back. She only hoped her attack would hit as hard.
