Setting a dainty foot in the gravelly sand, the Kirin was quite delighted upon the lick she received from the lapping lake. Tilting her head to the side, his curly aquatic colored locks tumbled about her face in the light breeze. It was a lovely day, such a lovely one that Euria couldn’t keep herself from any body of water. The mare was in love with the water; mostly the ocean but she hadn’t made that journey for quite some time. Rivers and lakes, much like this one, tickled her fancy and kept her want of the sea at bay. She found herself more inland lately, so this little walk was quite enjoyable. The endless chatter of her fellow Soquili of all breeds were over whelming for her but nice to see them thriving so well. Having no herd she was quite used to being alone, but company would be nice every now and then.

The wintery embodiment of snow was less pleased with the weather. The white pelted stallion was bidding his last farewell to the seasons he could thrive in, bringing modest chill and frost even yet in the Spring; he would not welcome the warmer weather, as he had little influence over it. He was unhappy, but it would be difficult to spot in his usual frigid demeanor.
He plodded slowly around the edge of the lake, his cold influence still making the water by his hooves crackle with ice that disappeaered as soon as it formed; he was but a white stallion in these times. The proud male tossed his long mane, lifting his muzzle high, surveying the land and challenging it all to withstand him as long as it could. Winter could come again, and he would come with the snow, blanketing all the green and blue...
Blue?
Something shimmering caught his attention, making him snort in muted surprise. His colorless eyes swept over the strangest creature he'd ever seen; a mare, to be sure, but she had...scales. Her fur looked like the churning of deep waters, her tail long and unusual like her horn. He wasn't very far from her, pausing in his rounds of the lake to stare unabashedly, a white sore on the lush green skin of the area.

Soft ears swiveled at the sound of hooves shifting on the graveled sand, craning her neck soon after to see. The stallion just a few strides from her looked like fresh snow on a cool morning, colorless eyes seemed to survey her. Though she hadn’t met any others like herself quite yet, she couldn’t have imagined seeing such a hornless steed. Like polar opposites they stood there, lush sea greens and frigid stark whites.
Cool deep blue hues watched for a moment, noticing that the other had to be defiantly out of his element. Now she started to wonder if he was hindered by the sun, but it was such a rude question to ask however.
“Good afternoon…” She said softly, the kind softness in her voice could almost get lost in the breeze. Being as soft spoken as she was, distant conversations like this grew troublesome. But she wasn’t sure if the stallion would like being approached to brashly.

His ears remained perked forward, stationary as marble as they stared, he with hesitant defiance and she with mute curiosity. When she did speak, she was soft and friendly, and the stallion immediately quieted. He bowed his head a bit, acknowledging her greeting while making himself appear less hostile, or so was his intention.
He took a few small steps towards her, small ice crystals sparking against the ground and disappearing just as quickly, his long tail stirring small pools of sand as he moved. A small breeze came off the lake, mussing his hair, flakes of snow seeming to dance between the strands but no further. "Good afternoon," he returned in a slow, methodical manner. He was unused to speaking with the others, for no matter how their forms may be similar, he had always felt different. Better, yes, but he was no ordinary horse and he knew it.
Another small step, but no closer; he'd closed half the distance between them, and for his own formality, would move no further. Stormy eyes looked over the fascinating female, momentarily forgetting his vendetta against the summer sun. "I am Frost," he introduced himself simply, twisting his great neck to look at the femme a bit better.

Bowing her head with the utmost grace, her curly locks tumbling about her horn and muzzle gently. It only seemed polite to return the gesture, and she was doing her best to be as polite as possible. Shifting her stance after, she felt it was okay to take a few steps closer to the snowy stallion. Euria was very fascinated with his appearance, the snow the seemed to waft from him. Faintly catching his sent in the breeze, he was indeed like the fresh fallen snow.
“Euria, it’s very nice to meet you Frost” The soft spoken mare replied, her kindheartedness waving through her hues.
“What brings you to this spot? I cannot image it’s the weather draws you” She asked, her voice almost getting lost in the breeze again. The mare didn’t mind the other examining her with those frozen hues, as she was doing the same to him.

What a lovely creature! Even the embodiment of winter could not deny that the female before him was ethereal. He was most impressed with her manners, more so by the quiet nature she exuded, not necessarily unspirited but more...spiritual, if such a thing could describe another.
Scattering a few snow flakes with a toss of his great mane, he found that he was soothed by her soft voice; where it would normally get lost to the ears of others, Jack Frost was used to the echo of sounds over snow, and could appreciate the subtle delicacy of her tone. It was a welcome change. "Euria," he repeated, tasting the name. It suited her somehow.
Satisfied that she would not randomly jump around or otherwise make a foolish display of herself, he stood solidly, distributing his weight so that he might stand and communicate with the femme more comfortably. "You are correct," his own soft baritone carried quietly in the breeze. "I still hold influence over part of this land," his grey eyes turned over the lake, remembering the iced surface as though it were yesterday, "and I find it agreeable for the time being."
His gaze returned to Euria, cordial manners dictating he continue. "I would ask the same of you, Euria, but you seem to belong here." A compliment? An observation? It could be hard to tell with him, as he himself only worded necessities. Conversation was still something he had to practice at.

Like her his voice wasn’t overbearing but soft and thoughtful, it made it more of a pleasant meeting. His whole being seemed to echo the essence of winter, a season that was far from their reach. Letting him take in her name, she couldn’t help but let a slow smile grace her features when he tested it.
Her tail flicked absently, as if acting upon its own accord as it rested at her hind pointed hooves. Nodding mutely to his response, it made sense as this felt like he had a hold over the general area. The way he held himself, he was very formal and to the point which she could appreciate.
“Ah well,” Euria started, moving her gaze out to the lake, “ I am more one with the sea however I cannot make that journey so late into the summer so this beautiful lake makes my wait bearable” Came her response, the longest string of words she’d put together in a while. She was usually alone so most of her conversations were limited to the other creatures she’d come across.

"To the sea?" he repeated in delicate inquiry. The vast body of water was something he could chill, but not freeze, a challenge and welcome reprieve that he found fascinating. A few more steps took him politely before her, rounding the mare until he was at her side, looking beyond her turquoise tresses to observe the surface of the lake. Eyes the color of a dark snow flurry regarded the tranquil ripples beneath the high sky before returning to Euria, offering a small smile. It seemed polite to return the expression, even though it wasn't one he often wore while outside his element.
"That is far," he commented lightly, his long tail flicking in a whisper of snowflakes. "Surely you do not make such a venture alone?" Perhaps the question was personal, and perhaps he was just curious to know if there were others like her. Jack wasn't certain he could have possibly missed the likes of Euria and her kind, but it wasn't to be out-ruled either.
He himself was not the only of his kind, although winter clung to him more tightly than mere snow or chill, or any individual aspect of the season rather than the whole. Jack had often chosen not to socialize, but it seemed on the rare occurance that he had, he had found a creature as rare as he. It was worth the effort.
