Kaze walked in the shadows of the trees in the forest. It was a sunny day, which she wasn't too fond of. Since her arrival, she hadn't had anything worth living for. Now, she did. She had to find Mizu, Taelence said she'd heard about a demonic around these parts. And most of all, if Mizu's possible presence didn't matter to her, Sorren did. He mattered. She now believed that HE was made for her. Sent from above to help her get through the rough patch. Seal her hole of emptiness. Giving her the reason, the will, to live, she knows he'll be there to catch her when she falls.
Sorren was the one fox in her life that she wanted to talk to, that she wanted to communicate with. He'd promised not to leave her and she wouldn't cause a whole big drama scene if he broke the promise, but on the inside she'd be hurt and the wound she was working so hard to heal, would reopen and cause her more pain than before.

Sorren padded along the outskirts of a forest for no reason in particular. He had often been wandering from place to place, never staying in one spot for long. Besides occasional visits to the shop, the demon never had considered anything to be his home. But something else had been provoking his mind.
Despite his regular bored outlook, Sorren was deep in thought about an angel he met the other day; Kaze. The more time he spent with her, the closer he wanted to be with her. It was as if she gave him a purpose, a reason to live that he had never thought he would discover before. There were so many questions about her that were left unanswered. He knew nothing of her past, nothing of the pain she felt so long ago. Part of him felt like he didn't need to know. He made a promise to Kaze. He promised he would never leave her and that he'd help her whenever the pain would return. The red-eyed angelic had mentioned notes from her past before, but Sorren had never pursued her with questions in fear of triggering a horrible memory. But who was the brother she spoke of? She said a name... Mizu? Was he related to her somehow? Just more questions that may or may not be revealed...
The demon's silver gaze glanced up as he found himself trotting into the forest. Light spilled through the trees and mottled his bright, yellow muzzle which made him a sore target in the shadows that tried to conceal his dark pelt. He sighed and quietly stepped through the undergrowth. He blinked when a glimpse of black and silver caught his eye. Did he see someone? Or was his thinking of Kaze making him see things?

Kaze was alone in the woods. Or so she thought. The hole throbbed in pain. It had been two days since she saw Sorren and it hurt. Burning at the edges, the hole had gotten smaller. But in the days the weren't together, it grew larger. Pain was NOT something the vixen handled very well. The trees loomed in the shadows, high above herself. Promise... she wondered. Are promises always kept? She didn't really need an answer to that one. The gray fox knew the answer and had experienced it first hand. I'm not going to hold it against him if he breaks it... She was thinking about Sorren. Her legs quivered as she struggled to keep her balance. She leaned on a nearby tree sighing. Though... I don't want him to... but it's his choice and I'll accept that.
Just then, she felt eye on her and her skin burned. She didn't like being looked at. Kaze never thought of herself as something WORTH looking at, so it bugged her when someone did, always thinking they were thinking about her strangeness. Dare I look? She dared. Turning, the yellow on Sorren fur caught her eye. The pain in her chest eased a bit, but she quickly turned around and stopped looking at him.

Sorren took a step foward to see if the figure that stood at a distance was really who he beleived it was, or if it was his mind playing tricks on him. The dark, winged figure turned long enough for the demon to see her eyes. It was Kaze. Sorren's felt his spirits lift and took another step towards Kaze as he noticed she had glanced in his direction. He froze when she turned away from him. The gesture felt like having the air forced from your lungs after receiving a punch to the stomach. He shrugged the feeling away and began to approach the femme once again with a careful step in his stride. "K-kaze?" He called out softly.
Did she not want to see or speak to him? The past couple of days he had not seen her when he stopped at the shop. He had no idea of the angel's whereabouts, but couldn't deny the fact that he wanted to be with her above all else. The cold, hollowed feeling that Sorren believed he abandoned when he met Kaze began to rise from his chest at the thought of being unwanted once more. If this was her way of not wanting to be near his presence, then he would respect her wish and leave her be. But he made a promise to Kaze that he would be by her side if she was ever pained, and he wasn't one to back down from a promise.
"Kaze," he murmured once more, stopping a next to her. "Are you alright?" It dug a hole through his heart to see her like this.

Still turned away, Kaze squeezed her eyes closed in defeat as Sorren called out her name. He was next to her now. there was no point in trying to take things slowly. Little did Sorren know that the last two days she'd been using her wing immensely in order to take her mind off of him. But the use created pain, which further distracted her. Sighing, she shifted her weight, enabling her to turn towards him. "Hi..." The word was quiet, mumbled, and barely coherent. But she knew he probably understood anyway. The tree she leaned on was becoming rough on her. Sorren's fur looked much more comfortable. Quietly, she leaned on him. "I'm a mess aren't I?" She looked up at him with sad eyes.
Looking down again, she sung. "I didn't know what was in store. When I walked right through the door. Then I saw you over there, our blue eyes locked in a stare. I didn't know quite what to say, sometimes words get in the way.
And I remember the night you said, "Lets go for a ride" I didn't want the night to end. Would we be more than friends? Yet little did I know before, we would be something more..."

Sorren's ears lowered slightly as he tried to understand the pain she had been feeling. He watched as Kaze finally turned to him and spoke a soft greeting. He silently dipped his head in return and draped his wing over her side as she leaned against him. He shook is head softly at her statement and rested muzzle lightly atop her head. "It's nothing we can't fix..."
The demon closed his eyes as he listened to her soft, melodic voice. For a fox of few words, Sorren thought her voice sounded so angelic when she sung. (no pun intended) His eyes remained closed when she was done singing. Those lyrics had been how he felt when he encountered Kaze for the first time. She had felt the same way as well...?
His eyes opened slightly as he began to murmur:
"I dreamed I was missing You were so scared, But no one would listen Cause no one else cared.
After my dreaming I woke with this fear, What am I leaving When I'm done here?
So if you're asking me I want you to know...
When my time comes Forget the wrong that I've done, Help me leave behind some Reasons to be missed.
And don't resent me And when you're feeling empty Keep me in your memory,
Leave out all the rest... Leave out all the rest.
Forgetting All the hurt inside You've learned to hide so well.
Pretending Someone else can come and save me from myself. I can't be who you are... ... I can't be who you are."
He remained silent for a while before looking back at Kaze. "I'm sorry I didn't see you the past couple of days... I should've been following my promise..."

Kaze sighed. "I hope you're right..." She liked how his wing warmed her. She got comfy under his muzzle and sung again:
"Is this a dream, If it is Please don't wake me from this high I've become comfortably numb Until you opened up my eyes To what it's like When everything's right I can't believe
You found me When no one else was lookin' How did you know just where I would be? Yeah, you broke through All of my confusion The ups and the downs And you still didn't leave I guess that you saw what nobody could see You found me You found me
So, here we are That's pretty far When you think of where we've been No going back I'm fading out All that has faded me within You're by my side Now everything's fine I can't believe
You found me When no one else was lookin' How did you know just where I would be? Yeah, you broke through All of my confusion The ups and the downs And you still didn't leave I guess that you saw what nobody could see You found me You found me
And I was hiding 'Til you came along And showed me where I belong You found me When no one else was lookin' How did you know? How did you know?
You found me When no one else was lookin' How did you know just where I would be? Yeah, you broke through All of my confusion The ups and the downs And you still didn't leave I guess that you saw what nobody could see You found me"
Kaze shook her head. "It wasn't your fault. It was mine..." Even though she knew it wasn't her fault, it was neither of theirs, she still blamed herself. What was a little more blame and pain when she was already so deep in it?

Sorren sat closer next Kaze and nuzzled her head lightly. He didn't want the feeling of being with her to go away. He understood the meaning of Kaze's song and responded:
"These streets Turn me inside out Everything shines But leaves me empty still And I'll, burn this lonely house down If you run with me If you run with me
I'll stay with you The walls will fall before we do Take my hand now We'll run forever I can feel the storm inside you I'll stay with you
Fooled by my own desires I twist my fate Just to feel you But you, turn me toward the light And you're one with me Will you run with me?
I'll stay with you The walls will fall before we do Take my hand now We'll run forever I can feel the storm inside you I'll stay with you."
He shook his head. "You shouldn't blame yourself so often. It only causes guilt, which leads to pain." A small, soft smile formed on Sorren's mouth, probably the first in his life. "Just relax and put your mind at ease for a bit..."

"I think you do quite a good job of putting me at ease..."
She lay on Sorren, not sure how he'd react to what she felt and wanted to say.
"Run baby run Don't ever look back They'll tear us apart If you give them the chance Don't sell your heart Don't say we're not meant to be Run baby run Forever will be You and me
Check yes Juliet I'll be waiting Wishing, wanting Yours for the taking Just sneak out And don't tell a soul goodbye Check yes Juliet Here's the countdown 3... 2... 1... now fall in my arms now They can change the locks Don't let them change your mind..."

"I'm glad I can help..." he murmured. Wrapping his tail lightly around Kaze, Sorren closed his eyes and listened to her next words. His voice felt somewhat strained, but he replied to her:
"I'll be there for you These five words I swear to you When you breathe I want to be the air for you I'll be there for you I'd live and I'd die for you Steal the sun from the sky for you Words can't say what a love can do I'll be there for you..."
He slowly opened his eyes, glancing at the darkening sky before looking at Kaze. He wasn't sure if there was anything else he could put into words to say how he felt about the angel.

She looked at him longingly. Kaze decided she should tell him about her pain. the pain she suffered when he wasn't there. What she'd done the past two days. She sighed, trying to gather all the courage she could. "I need to tell you something Sorren... When you're not... around..." She looked down embarrassed at how desperate she was. "I... have this hole in my chest. Not in the literal sense, but it still hurts immensely nonetheless..." She looked up at him slightly, wondering how he was taking this all. "And whenever you're around the hole gradually becomes smaller. When I'm alone, the edges burn and I'm in pure agony..." She didn't believe she deserved him. Deserve his love. "But... I have more. The past couple days, I've been flying. Flying more than I thought possible for me and my wings. It took my mind off you, just like I wanted. Unfortunately, my wings can't take much flying which caused more pain than the whole. It hurt like crazy, but served it's purpose of distracting me so I wasn't thinking about you....."

He removed his muzzle from her head at that moment to give his fullest attention to something that she seemed to be concerned with. Quietly he sat, taking in every detail. 'So when I'm with Kaze, the pain that resides inside her eases,' He thought. 'But when I'm not around, the pain only swells again.' He winced at the words 'pure agony' and sat closer to Kaze so that there was no space left between them. He listened to how she tried to ingore the pain by concentrating on something else. Unfortunately, that only ended with a physical pain on her wings. "Kaze," he murmured softly. "Please don't hurt yourself..." His eyes, filled with sincerity, met hers. "I'll promise to meet you at the shop, or here in the forest, everyday. Or if you wish, I'll stay with you night and day so that you will never be alone. Anything to help stop the pain..." He traced her crimson eyes for a moment before glancing down at his paws.
"Whenever you're not near, I fear what may happen if I didn't see you anymore... At the thought of not being by your side, a cold, hollowed feeling creeps within me." He confessed as he continued to gaze at the ground. "It's a feeling I used to own before I met you, before the hollowed void would fill whenever you came near... ... ... I used to feel unwanted..."

He cares about me more than I could imagine... Sorren experiences pain just like me. We need each other...
"I want you with me. Night and day. Today and tomorrow. Forever and always. I'd take you up on that offer. the one where you stay with me day AND night, but I'm not quite sure what my... "family" would think about that." She huffed. Resting her head on him, she sighed.
"We're so much alike... Sorren. And we're so much in pain... Pretty messed up pair aren't we?" Kaze wondered if he would get the underlying meaning of the word 'pair'. The hole in her body didn't burn, nor did it hurt. It was full, as if nothing was ever gone.
"I felt unwanted to Sorren... No matter how much attention people gave me, and I got a lot, that feeling stayed. I couldn't make it go away no matter what I did. then you came into my life..."

"I wan't be with you every night and day, to see you safe..." he murmured softly, bringing his muzzle back to her forehead. Sorren lived with a poet when he was a kit. By the time he reached adulthood, he pretty much left on his own. The demon had no true home or 'family' to stay with. He didn't know the group of foxes that Kaze lived with, but their consent would depend on whether he would stay. If not, he'd have to find another way to be with Kaze...
The angelic's next word's were truthful. Both of them had been hollowed and alone until they met the other. "But as a pair, we can just cancel out each other's promblems, hm? We can remove the pain and fill it with something more."
Sorren lowered his eyes, completing the rest of Kaze's statement. "... and now I know I don't have to worry about being alone anymore."

"Good, cause I'm taking you up on that offer." She spoke teasingly.
Kaze stared at him. "I've got two words to say. Screw. Them. I don't care what this so called family think! It's about time I get what I want. And you're exactly what I want." She shrugged. "I guess so. If you're sure you still want to deal with me," she hedged.
"Perfect. That's what you are for me. You know that? And you can strangely finish my sentences. You're just so full of surprises!" Playfully Kaze nudged him, a nuzzle quickly fololwing.
