Well obviously Saakamoto sang one of the theme songs..and Kajiura did the background music. I was kinda curious to see what you guys think of it?
Also, have you guys heard any of their other works or pieces they've done?

Yuki Kajiura did .hack sign background music(she''s recognizable by great choral peices, which is why the techno surprised me), Maaya Sakamoto has done several other ending/opening themes (Wolf''s Rain has her AND some Kajiura I think), and Sakamoto actually does Tomoyo''s voice, which I thought was pretty scary.
Personally, I think Yuki Kajiura is the god of all composers. No, really. The princess is Yoko Kanno, but Kajiura > Kanno any day. Sakamoto''s ok, but she can get sorta whiny sometimes when she sings.

I love the music Yuki kajijura makes! The songs 'Ship of fools' and 'a song of storm and fire' were cool! I also like the songs she did in .hack. 3nodding

Time Puppet I love the music Yuki kajijura makes! The songs 'Ship of fools' and 'a song of storm and fire' were cool! I also like the songs she did in .hack. 3nodding yes! ship of fools is so awesome! i remember the first time i heard it, i got excited butterflies in my stomache! i love it so! -sakura

I adore her work on .hack//SIGN. I have both soundtracks and I think she actually DID do a techno/techno-ish piece in there on the 2nd soundtrack...Or maybe that's Madlax
Which reminds me that she DID do the music for Madlax. I was so excited when I found out she'd be doing the music for Tsubasa. I'm glad you all like her as much as I do.
I agree that she's the best composer out there...Kanno is pretty great..but she can't come near Kajiura..I mean, to compose ALL the .hack music without even seeing the show and knowing nothing but character personalities? That's really good.

You're right about Saakamoto doing the ending theme for Wolf's Rain. "Gravity" One of her more popular songs.
I also liked another song she did for Wolf's Rain. "Cloud 9" I can't recall if that was her or not..but it was good.
*raids OST collection for Kajiura's other work* Urmm...I know she did NOIR though I don't have that one..there's a couple from Aquarian Age..along with the ending to the game Xenosaga..she definitely did some techno..I'm not positive but I think it was on .hack//SIGN OST 2...

I love Maaya Sakamoto and Yuki Kajiura both! *-* Maaya Sakamoto's voice is so beautiful and smooth~and she sings pretty well in English too! I never skip any of the Maaya Sakamoto songs that come up for play on my playlist when it's on shuffle because she rocks! All her songs are so catchy and pretty with lovely lyrics to sing to. My favorite song is Yakusoku wa Iranai (Escaflowne)--I'm always at a loss of words when I describe it to my friends but all I can really say about it is that it's an awesome song. biggrin Now, about Kajiura--I've been in love with her music since .hack/SIGN (which means I've been a fan of her compositions for three years...I think.). I have the entire .hack/SIGN OST and a bunch of other random songs from her (including Tsubasa Chronicle OST I) as well but I've got to say, I love Zodiacal Sign (Aquarian Age), Mezame (Mai-HiME), & Ship of Fools (TRC) . Those songs are THEE best! eek
Mezame is really upbeat yet dark with the voices in the background. I love how it goes from quiet and dreary to fast-paced and ascending-like. Zodiacal Sign...oh man...I have no clue what the people singing that song are saying but it's so awesome! The voices sound like they're chanting or performing some ritual! blaugh But I like it nonetheless, kick arse song--very kick arse! >w<
And Ship of Fools ( heart heart heart ) this song is just so awesome! The creepy, haunting intro exploding into the beautiful dark malevolent voices gives me goosebumps--and drawing ideas (that I never really end up drawing @_@) when I listen to them!
Kyah...Kajiura-sama is SOOOO AWESOME! whee
Okay...I'm done with my share of thoughts xd

I'd have to say, I really love Kajiuras songs from .hack as well as tsubasa. I've been looking for someone to upload the noir ost so i could take a peek at that too. I didn't like noir as much but hey.
I heard there's a second ost coming out soon!! *happy dance*
