I would have to say I preferred reading Death Note since it was shorter. Bleach is still running and I have not been keeping up even though I keep getting the manga. The past few months are still unread...

I prefer Death note because it's more complex and has more of a plot than bleach.
And to be frank, bleach doesn't really appeal to me.
I like the artist of death mote than the artist of bleach.
Also the people from death note seem cooler and unique than the people from bleach.

At least Tite Kubo makes all the characters look different. The plot of Deathnote repeats itself halfway through. Exact. Same. Plotline. Bleach has more room to expand its story. Deathnote was good because it ended where it did and Light finally died.

Actually, no they aren't.
We have L, the good smart a**.
Light, The evil smart a**.
and Misa, the idiotic klutz.
And how did we go from personality to how they look like?
If that's the case, Then Takeshi Obata also made all the characters look different, even near and L don't like alike. confused
Also, They had the same plot line the whole story.
They were trying to find out who kira was and try to kill him.
That was the whole point of the entire series, so i don't know what your talking about.

Death Note has a lot of twists and turns, a very complex plot, and the creator wasn't a scared to kill off characters. Heck, nearly everyone died in the end.
For viewers, there can be two views of the 'good' and 'bad' sides, which I found to be pretty cool.
Bleach has an interesting plot, but it's nothing like Death Note. It has a lot of character variation. There's new characters all the time. A lot of kick-a** fighting, for sure. My problem with Bleach is that it tends to drag on too long. For example, the Ichigo vs. Byakuya fight when Ichi was in the process of rescuing Rukia. The battle lasted for like, three episodes. From what I remember. It might have lasted longer.
And then there's the fact that real world physics mean absolutely nothing. Characters like Ichigo, Renji, and Hitsugaya when he got totally pwn'd by Aizen, lose HUGE amounts of blood. And a while later, they're still alive. That annoys the hell out of me.
Other than that, I'm pretty much adoring Bleach.
So, really, I can't choose between DN and Bleach. ^^
