The Battleground As both trainers step into stadium, the plasma screen blinked on and showed the spinning images of the different battle fields. It slows down to reveal
THE FIRE FIELD
The center of battleground opened up and the fire field platform rose into the trainers' sights. A series of thick rock pillars, all different sizes of height, reach towards the stadium ceiling from a pool of hot lava. While there is a fire-proof net far below to catch any pokemon that falls off the platforms, the rock pillars themselves are very hot to touch. They can cause burns if your pokemon stand still for a set period of time. The air around the field is very heavy from the extreme heat.

Hayne felt nervous and excited about his first official Pokemon battle. He observed the fire field and thought how lucky it was that both Luna and he are using bird Pokemon.
His hands automatically clutch onto Swablu's Pokeball as his anxiety grew. Hayne felt reassured with his Pokemon by his side. Not all hopes are lost just yet. How will this turn out? They'll find out in a moment.

"Hey there~" Luna called out, making her way to her trainer platform. Prince flew above her and went ahead to circle around the battle field. Thermal drafts soon lifted him upwards to a fairly high altitude.
"Pidgeoooooooooo!"
Placing her arms on the non-heat-conducting railing, Luna looked up at the sky and smiled at her pokemon. Prince had sure come a long way since she first met him as a pidgey. She kinda felt...old. Or at least a bit more mature then when she first started her journey.
Taking a deep breath of the stadium air to calm herself, Luna looked at her opponent. "You ready~?" She asked cheerfully, but then noticed that the other trainer did not even have his pokemon out yet. "Usually people send out your pokemon by now." The trainer added, trying to give the boy a push in the right direction.
(Diane, if it's a one on one battle, you usually send out your pokemon on your intro post)
If Diane fails to reply in twenty four hours, she is FFN's slave for a week

Hayne saw his opponent come into view and couldn't help but want so much to not lose to a girl.
She said to release his Pokemon. Oh crap, that's right.
"Ohh, r-right." Hayne stuttered a little, embarrassed at his mistake. "Go Swablu!" he shouted as he threw his Pokeball. Swablu emerged out of the Pokeball and flew onto one of the rock pillars only to jump back up from the heat.
This is going to be a long shot he thought. "Come on Swablu! Let's win this thing!" he shouted to his friend.
"Bluuu!"

Luna looked at her opponent and his pokemon, assessing them both. A swablu. And a female one at that. The trainer had quite a bad feeling that Prince was going to fli-
The pidgeot let out a wolf whistle from the air at the smaller bird. Luna smacked her forehead.
"Prince!" She scolded. The pidgeot huffed at her from above. Hitting her forehead a few more times against her knuckles, Luna pulled herself together. Fine, she would let Prince have fun with his flirting, as long as he still focused. "Natural gift!" The trainer ordered.
Prince's eyes started to glow, as did the aspear berry around his talon.
"Pidgeoooooooooooo!"
The pidgeot dove down towards the swablu and opened his beak while facing the female bird, letting out a rain of ice shards.

Hayne twitched at the wolf call Prince gave to Swablu. How dare he?! Hayne wanted to protect his precious Swablu from the big mean Pidgeot but no can do.
As Prince sent the rain of ice shards on Swablu, he cringed. Super effective too.
“Use Peck Swablu!” Hayne shouted. Swablu swooped towards Prince to deliver a peck on his body.

"Prince! She's approaching again!" Luna warned, even though she knew Prince would find it quite pointless. He had eyes thank you very much. Not that Luna cared, she felt obliged to warn him just in case. "Prepare another natural gift!"
Prince hovered in the air again, keeping a constant rate of wingflaps while his berry started to burst into light once more. Prince kept his eyes on the swablu as it approached him, the wind around him growing icy. Right at the moment Saige started pecking, millions of ice needles materialized around the swablu and aimed to imbed themselves in the swablu's feathers.
(Super effective x2 = 50+ atk)

As Swablu received another rain of ice shards, Hayne wished he had read up more on newer attacks to know that the berry was reusable in Natural Gift.
Swablu shaking off the frosty bits, flapped in place to show she was ready for the next move. Hayne wasn’t really sure how he could make a come back. None of Swablu’s move was ice, rock, or electric. But a little light bulb lit up in Hayne’s head. “Swablu use Mirror Move!”
‘C’mon now,’ Hayne thought. ‘Don’t miss! We're screwed right now.’

The swablu went at Prince, but the larger and more experienced bird easily flew out of range, getting the minimum damage from Saige's attack. "GEOOOO! ((WEAK!)) " Prince taunted.
"You silly~You don't have a berry with you!" Luna said to the other trainer, putting her right hand to her mouth to cover her giggle. "Prince! Go at them with natural gift again!"
The air around Prince became icy and thin ice needles could be seen forming around the large bird pokemon.

Hayne was confused as to how Swablu reacted to Prince’s call. Swablu had made some squawks of her own. Really now, what Hayne would give to understand that.
Swablu receive yet another rain of ice shards, putting her into a bad state. A very bad state.
Hayne paused for a moment. Stupid ice, stupid stupid ice! …Ice. Hayne yelled an order to Swablu, “Okay let’s use Ice Beam!”

Luna smirked. Now that her opponent had called out an ice type move. Now she could do something more interesting than continuously using natural gift. "Mirror move!"
Prince's eyes glowed as a shiny, reflective surface appeared infront of him. The icebeam hit the surface, knocking the pidgeot backwards. "Ge..."
Prince was able to stop himself from falling by a quick doward thrust of his wings, propelling himself higher thanks to the thermal drafts of air from the field. "GEOOOOOOOOOOO!"
The pidgeot's eyes glowed. He opened his beak and let out the same attack that the swablu had used earlier: Ice beam.

The Ice Beam made contact with Swablu and Swablu was in a horrible state. The little bird Pokemon took a bit before flapping again. Darn stupid, stupid girl for using that against him. And darn stupid, stupid him for not thinking beforehand about this battle.
But Swablu was flying strong now. He and Swablu are gunna go out with a bang or at least try. “Swablu use Ice Beam again!”

The trainer could almost taste her victory. "One last time Prince, mirror move!"
Prince's eyes glowed as he observed the move. This time, he flew upwards right in time to avoid the ice beam hitting his whole body. Instead, it hit his tailfeathers.
Feeling his flying balance going haywire, Prince quickly made an icebeam attack at the swablu before descending in altitude.
