The sky is only showing the faintest hints of light, dim pink streaks peeking beneath the blanket of night as it slowly lifts. Opposing the start of a billiant pink fire, the sky is still dark and spotted with stars, and a thin crescent of the scarred moon drips behind the horizon.

Llune wakes early the morning after the gathering hut has been built. As someone who has been a light sleeper and an early riser for most of her life, Llune's before dawn waking is not especially abnormal. Besides, she wants to get to the pool before any of the others awaken so that she may have a bit of privacy.

In the dim light of the breaking dawn Llune disrobes and steps into the calm pool, using the fine sand to scrub the dirt and grime that's accumulated on her lately. Once she has been thoroughly scoured, Llune turns to her dress and scrubs that as well, the best that she can given the circumstances.

The pink streaks in the sky are being joined by red and orange and purples, though there is still a bit of time before the sun will begin to peek over the horizon. Llune leaves the pool and wrings out her dress as much as possible before putting it back on. As the sun has not yet risen, it's still a bit chill, and Llune shivers in her damp clothes.

Llune shivers for a moment thoughfully, then nods to herself as though a decision has been made. To help dry off, she decides to take a brisk walk and look for flowers or fruits or herbs or anything that might be of use. Mostly she wants to keep moving so that she can stay warm while shy dries off, but why not look for goodies on the way?

It never occurs to Llune that if someone were to wake up before she returns to the cove they may worry about her disappearance. Or that there may be something or someone dangerous out in the wild world that could potentially hurt her. Or that she could get lost. Or anything even vaguely of that nature.

Moving off to the edge of the cove, Llune begins to forage about, moving ever further away from the gathering hut, though surely, at least now, she's within sending distance of most. As she moves beyond view, the sun begins to peek over the horizon, and the day's first rays of light caress security of the cove.

Peyote woke up early. It just wasn't as cozy as her silken bedsheets. She pulled herself from her sleeping arrangments and moved toward the pool for an early morning bath. She was just getting undressed when she spotted Llune foraging.

"Sweet water," Peyote calls out in greetings, her bracelets jingling as she waved a hand up and down at Llune.

"Clear skies my friend!" Llune calls back, "Lovely morning, isn't it?"

"Ooo very," Peyote cooed in reply, dropping her tattered dress to the rocks at the pool's edge. "Did you sleep well?"

Llune averts her eyes, glancing about the little bit of underbrush in the area and answers, "Oh, yes! I have a good feeling about today." She chances a glance at Peyote, aiming for her face to avoid having to directly notice her nudity, "There are a number of lovely things that may happen, I think..." She looks away, "I trust you slept well?" she asks, examining the underbrush again as though she's seen something interesting.

On the way back to camp Dancer slipped back into her meager things and gave a whistle for Fire Bright. He roared in return from someplace in the forest but it was heard up to mile away. As she walked the great cat came bounding up to her. Easily she slipped onto his back and was off to the camp. It took what seemed like nearly no time at all to get there as the mighty beast ran. The wind rushed through her hair and across her face. It was wonderful to just feel alive as they were one at moments like this. By the time the pool at the base of the fall was seen they had both been walking. Fire Bright could only run so long so she had gotten off and walked beside him. Dancer noticed Llune and Peyote as she came into the cove. With smile she asked, "How is everyone this morning?" Fire Bright made his way to the water for a few laps. Large cat eyes watched Peyote carefuly as he did so from the other side of the pool.

"You do," Peyote asks. Her tone is awe-struck, and her eyes greow wide. She sits herself on the pool's edge and begins pulling the knots and tangles from the raven-strands. "How wonderful," she exclaims as Llune states that lovely things are going to happen.

But then, the cat arrives, and Peyote squeaks out a "Oh!"

Llune smiles at Dancer and the great beast, "Clear skies Dancer!" she exclaims, and sends a welcome to Firebright. She then answers Peyote, "Oh, yes! Everyday, at this time of day, there's always good things that can happen!" A pale arm gestures carelessly but gracefully toward the brilliant mother star that's begun to paint the sky with neon colors, "It's still early!" she finishes simply and with a sure dip of her chin, identical to that of a child who's convinced herself.

If the cat had passed by closely enough to Llune, she would have allowed her fingers to brush across his coat; if not, Llune would have just *looked* like she wanted to do that.

Llune bends to pull a trinket out from under a little bit of beach scrub brush (as she is, by the way, standing just at the border between the cove and the open beach). It's a flat, white, coin-sized piece of a coral-like substance. It's very pretty, actually, and wait, there are 3 more under there! Llune squats (to avoid dirtying her dress unnecessarily) to retrieve them and the stands up beaming and smiling widely, the little things in her hands and on display, "Lookie!"

After Fire Bright lapped up the amount of water he wanted and stared down Peyote a few more moments he turned and went to find a sunny spot to lay in and roll a bit. Dancer chuckled under her breath just a bit. She knew what the cat was doing with Peyote but said nothing. She knew it was harmless. When the tiny hard disks were found she wandered over to Llune. "Ooohh those are lovely. They look like bones that have sat in the sun." Wonder and curiosity play on her fine features. "Oh Llune, how is the cub? She seemed upset that I had to go last night but it couldn't be helped. I hope she isn't missing me to very badly." A soft chuckle escaped her lips as she looks at the disks again that Llune holds.

Peyote, on the other hand, hasn't a clue what the cat is up to, but when he moves away, she straightens up to see him a bit more before shuddering and splashing into the water. It's shockingly cold, and a little gasp escapes her mouth. eek

Llune thinks for a moment... The cub, what did she say last night...? "I believe she left last evening to take care of some 'business,' as she put it." Llune's brow scrunches up a bit, trying to remember precisely the feeling in the send so that she can relate it to Dancer, "I got the impression she was wanting to say goodbye to the past..." Llune's brow scrunches a little more, "I don't think I would've been able to stop her if I'd tried, but I believe I might've been asleep when this happened..." She pauses a moment, bewildered, then looks up at Dancer. Pushing the confusion and that inkling of something... else... off her face Llune smiles, "She will surely be back a bit later today." One of the disks then slips from her fingertips, and Llune drops to her haunches to retrieve it.

Dancer sighed softly with a shake of her head. She knew the feeling, the need and the dressier to go back. It was a bad idea though. She felt guilty enough for leaving Crosscurrent sleeping on the rock the way he was. Perhaps she would go back and check on him in a bit. For now though she pushed the thought of him sick and alone from her mind. "High Ones guide that little cub back to us safely" was all she said about it. Dancer plightly took one of the disks from Llune and held it up to her raven hair, "How pretty this would look as a tie for our hair" she chuckled then handed the disk back to Llune. "You should have seen the wonderful and amazing things I saw last eve." Her eyes widened a bit and her voice became slightly excited to share the breathtaking experience. "Crosscurrent took me into the vast deep. Under the water to see what lives with him there. The fish were brightly colored like the feathers of birds. Shells with things living inside, little spiky creatures and long flat snake like creatures." Dancer started to send them images of things she saw while under the sea and the joy she felt being there. The two ladies also got to see Crosscurrent for the first time. His flowing blond blue streaked hair, green eyes and of course his brick red tail.

Llune gasps at the things Dancer is telling her about, and is about to say, "No, surely you are joking with me," when Dancer sends the images.

As we all know, there is no lying in sends. So Llune can no longer think that Dancer is coming up with a creative tale - she must've seen all these strange things.

Then a thought occurs, and Llune's awe-struck face scrunches up a bit as she tries to figure it out on her own. "But... Dancer... How did you... Underwater?..." She places a finger on her chin and thinks. How *would* an elf like Dancer managed to see all these things underwater, anyway?

The little shell-coral-disks are momentarily forgotten as Llune wonders about this underwater journey of Dancers, and all the pretty things she saw.

Who knew dark flesh could blush so red. "He helped me breath underwater." was all she said as she turned away. If pressed for answers she would share how it was done but for now it was a special little moment she wanted to keep to herself. "I hope Crosscurrent gets to trust us enough to show himself to all of you." Her voice falling just a bit as if she had her doubts. Still the young elftess was hopeful. Finding a rock Dancer took a seat. Looking back to Llune she said, "If you like I will go into the woods today and try very hard to find something that bares fruit, some herbs and plants that are edible. More had to have survived then just these rock nut trees." she chuckled jesting to a coconut. "I'll take one of your finely made baskets with me incase I get lucky."

Llune smiled, completely oblivious to the blushing of Dancer, "Lovely!" is all she exclaims.

When Dancer offered to try and find more edible fruits, Llune nodded encouragingly, "Oh, yes, please do. I loathe flesh, myself, though I know no one else does..." A hand drops absently to her belly, as if to say, "And so does the little one."

Moving back from the edge of the cove, Llune rustles up a big woven basket that she stored by the opening of the gathering hut, "Here, will this one be large enough?"
