UPDATE~♫ (x2!)

User Image
Fixed up his hand and face and tweaked a few other things as well.
I'm pretty happy with it at this point but am looking for advice on anything that looks super wrong still that I may not be seeing.

A big, big thank you to everyone that's been helping me on this thus far ^_^/

Here, a bit of colouring~
User Image
I like doing shading, but I hate doing highlights on skin as it always looks messy and uneven :T
Ah, well.

UPDATE~♫

User Image

I changed his knee up. Lookin' better, methinks. The foot was given a little bit of tweaking but I'm still having issues with the ankle-heel bit. Redlines, yes?
Redid the entire forarm so that it'd look more relaxed but the hand is shifty, no? Anyone have suggestions/redlines to help? ;w;

Still working on the other arm and have yet to touch his face, but just wanted to know about that hand and if the leg is lookin' a tad bit swankier?

biggrin /♥

I've finally decided on a title for a bit of a manga/graphic novel that's been swimming about in my head for the last year or so and decided to celebrate by drawing the main character, Yuma.

User Image

Just a sketch for now, but curious to see if anyone has suggestions on what could be tweaked up a bit.

I'm currently thinking about making the face longer. His hands and body are too big for his small face.
Probably going to redo his right hand and forarm so that it's more relaxed and perhaps holding something.
His neck area in general seems messed up but I think I'll just be crafty and hide it all behind a mess of hair. Since I'm cool like that.
Does the left shin seem too long?
I tried comparing the two shins in size and they seem pretty similar. I ight trim a tiny bit of it off... I haven't decided yet.
The angle of the left foot and where the knee seems to be pointing doesn't match up well either, but I'm at a loss how to fix it :T Help on that especially would be loved.

He's supposed to be hunching forwards a tiny bit, which can't really be seen too well, huh?
I'm hoping that when I colour and shade him in it'll be more obvious.

Anything else that I seem to be missing that's blaringly wrong?

No, he's just sitting on a box in a bit of an art studio (I cropped the rest of the image as it's just messy lines currently).

Thank you though ^^/

You've got this under control. XD I agree about his face needing to match the proportions of the body; I disagree however about his shin being too long. That's just how you've positioned the foot, and it looks fine.
The knee-to-foot angle is off, you're correct. I'm thinking if you don't want to redraw the entire leg, play with that little crecent-moon-shaped groove right below his knee. Changing it's size and direction might correct the problem without having to redraw the entire leg.
If you wanted to redraw that entire leg, it would be a matter of changing the perspective on the foot, so you were looking at the foot more from the side instead of the top. But that would get troublesome really fast, and lose some of the laid-back nature of the piece.

Nope, I could tell you wanted him to be hunched from the length of the arms, but it's hard. Something about his elbow height is off. I know it's perspective, and that makes his elbow-to-hand area shorter...but you may want to check that against how you want him crouched.

mmm, I've been mulling back and forth about that blasted leg of his...
The knee would probably be the easiest to fix, yeah... WHat about the thigh? It seems short to me now. Do you think adjjusting the knee and his shorts would make it look alright? o_o;

I think I might redo his entire right arm now... I keep looking at it and it bugs me more and more =w=;;

I'll get to work on that knee/leg now though.
Thank you! biggrin

Bit of an update in the first post.
Please help?

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Okay, I know it's a small change, but I think it'll help and your feet and hands aren't that bad. 'Sides I can't do too much since feet are not my forte and I don't want to screw yours up. The hand isn't bad either, it's just the thumb of that one (like said in red in case you couldn't read it) is just a little strange since it's not actually sitting on anything, but if you adjust the line of that box so that the thumb is resting on it then it'll look good. And I don't think your hand is bad so far. You'd have to continue for me to know. Although, if you don't know how to finish them I can't really help. But I found a couple tutorials that might help 3nodding :

Sorry if none of this stuff helps. sweatdrop Anyway, Good Luck! And don't forget that coloring really does help cover up or lessen problems! 3nodding
But your picture looks pretty good so far.

....you've saved my foot ;w;
Thank you!

As for the hand not really sitting on anything, yeah, I know xD I was going to draw the box a little bigger once I got into the red thing, I just threw a box under him for something for him to sit on while I drew the sketch of him, so ^^;
That hand will probably be worked over a bit like my last one...

Thank you! ;w;♥

Wow. Looks great! Especially that hand. And 'grapefruit'? That's funny. rofl Anyway, I just thought I'd say that the only thing that sorta bugs me (you probably know my insanity and obsession with details by now) is his left (our right) forearm. To me, now you can disregard this too since it's a VERY small detail, I think the wrist connecting with the thumb on that arm should curve inward just a little more. That was all thought in one breath by the way. I don't mean to make it look hella weird by the thumb, but the forearm didn't curve that much throughout; I mean, it isn't quite as pretty to look at as his other arm. I dunno. You could probably fix it through coloring so it's not much of a problem. Just thought I'd go and spew my brains out through my mouth because I'm just not the kind of person to swallow my thoughts. rofl Anyway, I really like it. Don't forget to keep updating! I like seeing works being completed. One of the many charms (in my eyes) of tutorials. You get to see the magic happen. It's amazing! Great artists actually give away the tricks to their magic shows. Anyway, Great job! Wow, your hands are amazing. 3nodding

That entire arm in general has been bothering me and I've been at a loss on how to fix it. I'll try tinkering with the wrist and see if that makes the over-all arm look better.

Thank you! ^^/♥

Hope it works. Good luck! I hate it when you know there's something wrong but you can't tell what it is. sweatdrop So troublesome.
