She closed her eyes to the light, allowing it to flow over her form and engulf her within its warmth. This light is so magical. She said her quiet sun prayer under her breath that she says every evening to the sun before it leaves this Earth and then opened her eyes again for Kirai.
"He'll bounce back, in fact, I think there is a young female already working on it." Smiling, she remembered seeing her brother with a female fox that morning. She'd left for a while, but was going to come back soon. She'd even seen him smile at her which had been a step in the right direction.
"Like Rayna, he was really devastated at first and had been at a loss of what to do with himself." She remembered the day at the beach. "We'd all been at the beach when Rayna hadn't been feeling too good suddenly. She'd collapsed and so I'd run for help leaving the two of them." She shook her head at the next part. "When I started to go back I ran into Rayna and Toao shouting in the middle of the road and then Toao stormed off. I'd followed and he just mopped around the house for the next few days. Misty had been worried that he had been physically ill, but he just smiled and said he was fine when she asked." Just lovesick... Her eyes downcasted as the artificial lights of the shop turned on. They're were so harsh and fake compared to the real beauty of the sun.

Kirai nodded absentmindedly as he stared through the window at the disappearing sun. He glanced back at Rimi as she closed her eyes. He watched her as she began speaking about her adopted brother.
He smiled slightly as she told him that another female seemed interested in him, "Thats good...do you know the female?" he asked, wondering if he knew her or not.
He shook his head slightly. What he didn't get was why Rayna didn't seem to like him the same way. From what Kirai heard, the boy seemed to be quite caring. He shook his head again to rid himself of the thoughts. He looked right into Rimi's eyes with a caring and loving look before he let out a soft sigh. "Did I ever tell you how much I love you? Because I lot you a whole lot more than you could ever know..." The last word left his mouth as the lights in the shop came on.

Shaking her head slowly at Kirai's question she looked around the room at the other foxes that stood nearby. "Um, I'm not quite sure of her name yet, but I'll be sure to learn it soon." She smiled up at him, eyes glancing out beneath her long lashes.
His next words caught her in a woe of suprise. Feeling the burning sensation of a strong blush rising to her cheeks and pushed up against him, burying her face within his thick fur. "You're so loving toward me." She mumbled. "How can anyone ever guess how much?"
The artificial lights glared down at her as she removed her face and stared back into his eyes deeply. Then, she got up suddenly and with her tail wagging slightly and wings fluffing she starred happily down at him. "We should forget other's worries and enjoy our moments like these! Let's go catch fire flies tonight or go for a walk on the beach!" She almost bounced with joy at these thoughts. Trotting in small circles about him, she couldn't help but let her tail drag over his form, awaiting a response.

Kirai nodded, "Thats understandable...well, I wish your brother the best of luck" Kirai stood and stretch, yawning in the process. He wasn't one who would keep from moving around for long.
Kirai smirked as she blushed, but he smiled lovingly at her as he bent down and gave her a kiss on the cheek and proceeding to nuzzle it softly. He chuckled as he pulled away, "They'd need a really big calculator, and even then you'd still not get the right amount"
He chuckled softly as Rimi got excited about the thought of doing something outside. He got caught up in watch her though, wondering about how her eyes were able to sparkle like that and how beautiful her tail shimmered from the moon light spilling in from the window. Shaking his head lightly he smiled at her, "Hmmm, how about we go catch fireflies on the beach?" He asked, combining the ideas. There were fireflies on the beach, right?

Smiling up at him, she bent back in a long cat stretch, tail stretching upwards toward the ceiling. Closing both eyes, she yawned lightly and then popped one open and growled playfully at Kirai. She seemed to feel very playful and fiesty this evening.
Running toward the door, she turned around and shouted. "Sounds wonderful! Last one there is a rotten egg!" She knew this was a childish thing to call someone, but she was having fun and getting in touch with her younger years. She'd never been able to play or experience fun times with Kirai as kits and now was no better then later to start the experience.

A small kit wandered in the street. He was wondering where his parents were. Pouting, Toro plopped down on the road. He sighed. He didn't like being alone or away from his parents.
The next thing he saw was Rimi racing out of the shop. "Momma!" he cried excitedly. He jumped to his feet and ran to her, playfully grabbing her tail.

Kirai just shook his head at her sudden hyperness and mumbled something about 'being a rotten egg then' as a slowly followed behind her. Once Rimi had made it completely out of the shop though a blurred marron and silver figure came latched onto her tail.
As he ran towards the two, he soon noticed that the blur he'd seen a few minutes ago was, in fact, his son. Kirai smiled lightly and nudged Toro with his nose slightly before laughing, "Hey Toro" his tail swished back and forth before speaking again, "Toro, would you like to come with me and your mom down to the beach to catch some fireflies?"

She laughed as she ran from the shop and turned quickly in the direction of the beach. Then to her suprise, something grabbed her tail. Yipping with suprise, she whipped around her and noticed that it was her son, Toro. "Toro!" Happily facing him she nudged him in the side playfully.
Then she saw Kirai coming as well and talking to Toro. When he mentioned Toro coming with them to the beach, she nodded happily at the thought, expressing her agreement. "You should come, it'll be fun."

He nuzzled both his parents affectionately. "Yeah! That sounds fun!" he laughed. Letting go of Rimi's tail he chuckled. "What are we waiting for? Let's go!" He quickly darted ahead, challenging his mom and dad. "Come one slowpokes!" Before they knew it, their son was off and running toward the beach.

Kirai laughed as his kit sped off towards the beach. Grinning wildly, he darted off after him. He leaned forward a bit more as he gained speed, eventually passing Toro. He slowed after having reached the sandy beach and turned around to give his son a hearty laugh and stuck his tongue out playfully, all the while oblivious to the wave that rose above him, which came down on Kirai with a loud crash.

She watched her mate and her son play happily and innnocently together. This is how it should always be. Then her son sprinted away followed quickly by Kirai. "Well I'm not about to be a slowpoke!" She ran after them, slower then Kirai but keeping the same speed as the quick footed kit next to her.
Then she saw the wave. Grabbing Toro by the scruff of the neck she pulled him back quickly away from it's grasp and tucked him between her legs. "Kirai! Behind you!" She called out quickly, hoping he could swim. In the darkness, it'd caught them by suprise.

He stuck his tongue back at his dad. Suddenly, his mother pulled him back. "Ack!" Toro watched what was happening on the beach. "Daddy!" he cried, tears welling in his eyes. "Turn around! Behind you!" The young kit shook under Rimi. Was this gonna hurt his father? He didn't want it to.
"Mommy! Do something..." he pulled on her fur lightly. The tears were welling over, darkening the fur on his face.

Kirai turned around just as the wave hovered over him and in a second he was engulfed in water. Barely able to keep up with what was happening around him he twisted and turned in the dark water. Why did it have to be night? Suddenly there was a sharp pain in his leg as it snagged on some seaweed growing from the bottom ocean floor.
He growled at it as he tried to cut it with his claw. As it let loose just a little and gave him some slack. So, he pulled forward and tired to put a paw just a little bit out of water. He did so successfully but unfortunately he'd been down there to long.

"Kirai!" Rimi screamed out as the wave took him and pulled him out into the darkness. Rimi was torn. Her instincts told her to stay with Toro and make sure he was okay, but on the other hand, her mate and love was out there possibly drowning. What do I do?! She screamed at herself inside her mind.
Then she saw the paw, that made her decision and she turned on Toro. "Go back." She growled lightly, "and don't turn around." Then she burst into the water. She hated water, but thought never crossed her mind as her muscles tore through the dark wetness. This ocean was a demonic force, out to pull them all down if they let it. But she wouldn't let it do such a thing and she continued onward until she got to where she'd seen the paw.
Doggie paddling in the water she sucked in a gust of air and dived. The water was darker then the night outside, but the moon shone down, as if assisting her on her way. There before her was Kirai, floating lifelessly, eyes closed.
Swimming beneath him, she pushed his body upwards with her own. In this water, he weighed nothing, like the young kit she hoped was far from this place.
The surface of the water seemed endless miles before her, and her breath was giving away. The oxygen within her body evaporating. Then, she broke through the water. Breathing heavily she looked around, trying to figure out what direction she faced and which way to the land. Her muscles screamed in anguish, twitching and convulsing as they were strained to their max use.
There, to her right was the shore. But, it seemed further away then when she'd first swam out. I can make it. She told herself, building her confidence. Then, she began to swim.

Toro froze where he stood. He willed his legs to move, but they protested. "I- can't!" he choked. Finally, his legs became un-paralyzed. He shook his head fiercely and ran towards the shop. He wanted to know what was gonna happen, but he couldn't until it was over...
