Yay! Dai gets to share her haikus! XD I'm going to enter the Sun haiku in the Litha category. I won't enter the Moon haiku, but I'll share it just for the fun of it. =]
Sun: In the morning, when Dew is sliding off the leaves, The sun calls to me.
Moon: How magnificent, The moon's journey across an Unwavering sky.

Alright, I'm entering. I'll post the poem in a bit. I'm gonna write a sonnet, but I'm still debating between a French on or an English one.... Hm.... Or maybe a sestina... or a vilinelle.... Gr... So many choices....

Alright, I decided to do a free verse. Here goes:
Litha
Oh, to feel the heat of the sun The gentle breeze that carries away the morning dew And the clouds that brought the rain.
She cries on us no longer All that's left is her glow Smiling down on us Her love keeping us warm.
Persephone walks the earth again Dionysus put down the bottle And Adonis lies in the halls of the gods.
All is well
All is right
The chill is gone And life perseveres.
There is no darkness left to dwell In our world, now so bright.

Uhem, I bet you meant to say "Villanelle", Jen. blaugh You know I have to give you crap. It's like, the reason I've entered this! 4laugh ninja Well, I thought about the prompt and decided to personify Winter/Yule itself in this poem. I thought to myself... "What would Winter look like? Be like? Etc?" Here's the outcome of it! I was sort of listening to "December 1963" by Frankie Valley and the Four Seasons so forgive the beat.Yule Tide Prince by: Tay Royale
What a man, what a Knight, He stole through my bedroom at full moon night, His face was clouded and silver bright, With ice blue eyes like gleaming light,
A cold, handsome glare, And an impenetrable stare, Oh, what becomes of the midnight air, When he blows frozen breath on the valley fair, Possessing flowing locks of sapphire hair,
The temperature drops, Fall suddenly stops, And with the wilting crops,
The handsome Knight Frost, Finds me safe when I am lost,
I wrap myself in his snow, Snuggle against the whitened window, And watch my Winter Knight whip to and fro, He dances for me; and I watch his show.
