Aside from Power metal, Folk is my favourite sub-genre.
Some of my favourite folk metal bands are: Elvenking(power/folk, w00t), Ensiferum, Kaliban, Hollenthon, Finntroll, Korpiklaani, Suidakra, Skyclad.... I'm going to stop now.... xp
Some, if not all of the ones listed aren't fully folk, but meh.
As for viking, I like Einherjer.

Folk/Viking is one of my favorite sub-genres of metal. Eventhough Ive started listening to is in the past month I already have more than 200 songs. Some of my fav bands from it are Ensiferum, Finntroll, Skyclad, Einherjer and ElvenKing. 3nodding

actually.... folk metal IS my favorite genre in metal ninja
bands i like:
*Ensiferum
*Bal-Sagoth
*Einherjer
*Skyforger
*Finntroll
*Skyclad
*The Lord Weird Slough Feg
*Cruachan
and so on and so on.... xp all folk-metal bands are good

personally i love viking/folk metal, then again it might because i am so interested in vikings and norse mythology due to my heritage, 100% danish. the viking/folk metal i listen to is:
-In Extremo (Folk / Medieval)
-Amon Amarth (Melodic death metal all about vikings)
-Einherjer (Viking Metal)
-Thyrfing (Viking Metal)
-Ulver (Black Metal, Folk, Industrial, Electronica)
-Finntroll (Polka-influenced/folk/viking black metal)
-Die Apokalyptischen Reiter (Keyboard laden Death/Folk Metal)

My favourite Folk metal band is Finntroll, and from Vintersorg too, his disbanded now project Ötyg.. they weren't metal but they were Nordic Folk and it seriously ruled, at least for me !! smile
