I've been playing RuneScape F2P irregularly for a few years, recently got back into it, and decided to try the Members game.

So...what should I start doing, to make things easier on myself in this frustratingly large world? Which quests should I do first, etc. Money-making tips are welcome, but I really only want enough to pay for new items and services for now; I'm not interested in "make 10 million per hour by chopping wood all day" schemes.

I really want to have as many transportation methods available as I can. xp Walking places takes a while, and not everywhere has a Teleport spell...

edit: Level 42, melee is my best combat stat so far. I have another, higher level account, but I started liking this one more. (I'm playing her as a monk. No, I haven't gotten RS confused with RPGs, but it's fun to imagine.)

Do Lost city to unlock 2 dragon weapons.
Do Thieving and Agility, incase you wish to go for regicide.
Money Making wise-Uhhh, green drags in chaos tunnels or blue drags would be your best bet but wcing maples, yews and mining would help too.

Yes, knock off a couple of quests first. The H.A.M quests are good to start on, Lost City is always a goer, and good old trustworthy Gertrude's Cat. <3

As for skills, I say just give each of them a trial run as you see fit. Train each to say, oh, 25 or so unless you decide you really have something against that particular skill!

And explore, too. Have the map minimised, and snap it open when the urge takes you to wander randomly to some remote corner. I spent a while doing that when I first started.

Good luck! You're welcome me to add me and all that kind of stuff but I'm not online as much as I used to be... Eh well. Username is Rissa Grl anyway. sweatdrop

Standard teleportation is fine for you and goes a long way.

Until you get 50 construction, use regular teleportation. Then once you get 50 con you can turn your house into a teleportation supercenter. (For a large price) You can have 7 places to teleport to, and you can also mount an Amulet of Glory to a wall where it allows infinite teleports.

To do this, you have to build portal rooms/quest hall. In order to GET to your house from anywhere, make a Study, where you can then make a Lecturn, which makes Teleportation Tablets. They're basically the tele-spells' runes all packed into 1 small inventory space. Just build tons of Teleport to House spells and use them wherever you walk in Runescape.

I use my house as a lifesaver when I get down to low HP and such in God Wars Dungeon. Just click on the teletab and you're at your house instantly away from death.

I don't feel like explaining anything else...just get a DDS and a Whip. If you can, (Level 70ish) do Monkey Madness for the Dragon Scimitar. After that... pirate

WHAT SKILLS TO TRY OUT

Fletching is really easy and simple. You will be like... wow.

farming is easy, but you wait for a long time and most people don't train it. smile i know i do. <3 it. Good for getting herbs for herblore

herblore- good, need lots of herbs, downside is... 2nd ingrediant can become costly and hard to get.

summoning, requires you to kill monsters to get charms, and just like
herblore you need extra crap just to make 1 thing, and also, just like rcing. It is just like rcing. I mean on how you make them.

slayer- good to collect charms for summoning.

hunter- this is an awesome skill. From lvl 1-20 it is really slow. but after that it is quick. :3

MONEY MAKING TIPS

>.> i been playing for 3-4 years. 1 skill at lvl 99 (got it last month) and i still not that rich. I have money in items but i just kind of just done crap.
And you are speaking to a person who cares less about money.
