Is there any vampire books that are pretty good (besides the Twilight saga)? When I went to Barnes & Noble, and their "young-adult" section has tons of vampire books. There was too much and I didn't get to read the summaries. Please give some suggestions and a 2-3 sentence summary. Thanks!

The two series I'm about mention aren't in the young adult section. There is the Vampire Huntress series by L.A. Banks. The title pretty much explains itself its set in present day and is pretty entertaining if a bit cliche. The first book is The Damed.
The second series is the Damphr series by Barb and J.C. Hendee. It is set in a Medival world that is reminsicent of Old Russia. The story is about a woman who finds out she is a half-woman half vampire and her journey to kill the man who fathered her and kill him. The title of the first book is Damphr.

Peeps, by Scott Westerfeld is sort of a book about vampires. He twists it so its more of an infection, not really a different type of people. It's a really good book, but I read it a couple of years ago so I can't exactly recall any details. I know that I really liked it and I couldn't put it down until I finished. The story has a weird take on vampire-ism (?) that I've never read before so it was really cool. I hated the sequel to this book, but the first one was good. Just a side note, Scott Westerfeld is also the author of the Uglies Trilogy.

If you don't mind the sex and violence, I recommend the Sonya Blue series by Nancy Collins. The titles include Sunglasses After Dark, Paint It Black, and In the Blood, and involve a young woman who survives an attempt to turn her into a vampire and becomes a monster hunter. If you want a character who can kick Blade's butt without working up a sweat, this is the series for you!
Also recommended: Anno Dracula by Kim Newman, an alternate universe novel where Dracula defeats van Helsing and conquers the British Empire!
